    i'm new here, and just started running again 6 weeks ago -- yesterday was my first 20 mile week. i have been lurking here for a few days, and it's been so inspiring to see everyone getting out there and racking up miles.

    this week:

    sun - rest
    mon - 4.25 mi
    tue - 4.5 mi
    wed - rest
    thu - 4.5 mi

    just i signed up for my first 5K in a couple of years. my goal is 31 minutes, but secretly hope i can break 30.

    Monday ~ 2.0 miles (walking)
    Tuesday ~ 5.3 miles (walking & bike)
    Wednesday ~ 0 miles
    Thursday ~ 2.3 miles (walking)

    Total ~ 9.6 miles

    Sunday 19th August - 3k walk/run uphill
    Monday - 6.5k elliptical and 3k walking = 9.5k
    Tuesday - 3.5k elliptical
    Wednesday - 6k walk/run
    Thursday - 5.5k elliptical
    Friday - 5k elliptical

    ha! after reading all the posts here, i thought i need to work harder!

    today: 5 miles

    around 3.5 miles, i thought, "this is probably the best i am going to feel today." that thought picked me up and got me through the last mile and a half.

    Hello everyone! Here's how my week is going so far:


    8/19 5 miles running .5 miles walking = 5.5 total

    8/21 3.5 miles running .5 miles walking = 4 9.5 total for the week

    8/22 2 miles walking 11.5 total

    8/23 2 miles walking 13.5 total

    8/24 3.5 miles running, 1 mile walking = 4.5 18 total miles for the week! woohoo

    WELCOME and GOOD Luck in your 5K!! Running only 6 weeks and goal of sub 31mins...? dang!! I haven't broken that barrier yet, but hope to soon. :smile:

    Sun: 22.01mi cycling (shorted myself a couple miles the other day, guess I was tired when I entered this originally :smile: )

    Thu: 3.14mi run/walk/almost had to crawl.. :grumble: lower legs were hurtin somethin fierce. Very slow run.

    Tuesday: 6.2 miles running
    Thursday: 4 miles running
    Saturday: 12 miles running (was going to run 11, but hit 11 still at least 1/2 mile from home, so ran a little more to make it 12!)

    Total so far: 22.2 miles running

    today's run was around a lake where i'd run a race 5 years ago. looked up my time from back then -- found that i ran it 2.5 minutes faster in 2007. something to shoot for! i was not pushing too hard, since this was my first off-track run since i began running again 6 weeks ago. i would not say it was hilly, but there were stretches where there were uphill / downhill inclines. i wanted to save some energy, in case the uphill-ish parts were tough, but ended strong with plenty to spare.
