Starting today, I've decided to take my average calorie burn and add it to my daily calorie target, instead of itemizing the exercise calories. This basically means I'll get to eat a little more on rest days and a little less on workout days. Just one step towards more simplicity in my life.

Also, just throwing in the suprailiac caliper measurement: 9mm

Good to have you here Taso. Already pretty lean  8 weeks to 6 pack? I'm pretty sure there is some Jillian Michaels program named something like that

    1 Week update (9/10/2012):
    156.6 (-2.4 cumulative)
    suprailiac: 7mm (-2mm cumulative)

No doubt the big drop this week was due to letting go of some water bloat I picked up on my trip (where I ate with reckless abandon)

By the way, just so you don't come off looking crazy - for the record - I believe per my request, the moderator added the height to the OP afterwards.

Taso,I've just been looking at your pictures, and i've noticed you've got quite long arms, i was just wondering how that translates in your lifts? I lift with a really small guy with normal arms, and his Squat and Deadlift are awesome because of his ROM.

Hmm, I'm not quite sure, but I wonder if that might be one reason why my OHP seems to lag behind my other lifts. Would longer arms be a help or a detriment for say a deadlift? I never thought my arms were extra long or anything. Thanks for giving me a new body image issue

    hahahahaha- knuckledragger!

i never thought you had long arms (and still don't think so). i expect it has its advantages. like less energy expenditure when picking things up off the floor and stuff like that!

for deadlifting it's a ratio or arms to torso I believe. Have to google it though as I can't remember exactly.

I only asked because i have a training partner whos about the same size, his Deadlift and Squat are awesome for it. I know traditionally tall people suck at deadlifting but i dont know if its down to legs, torso etc. Sorry for more body issues :(

Down another 1.2 on the scale since yesterday morning. Starting this on a Monday was a bad idea. I'm always carrying extra water on Mondays from eating big on the weekend. Oh well.

Somehow I managed only 18 calories above my calorie goal this past week. So a 3482 calorie deficit. However, it has been a deload week, meaning my activity was less than usual, so it won't necessarily be a full lb loss. Weigh in tomorrow.

Just for fun, here is my most cheesecake from the cheesecake kick that I'm on. I see many more of these in my future!

    good stuff mate.

Don't know about you but 3500deficit has never actually equalled 1lb loss. Too many variables involved. (for starters assuming that 100% weight lost is fat)

Week 3 weigh in: 156 lbs (-3 lbs cumulative; -1.4 since last week)

Point taken Chris. It's an estimate and there is lots of room for error. But it's a decent guideline. Last summer I seemed to have all my numbers dialed in so tightly that it was uncanny how close the actual weight loss was tracking to the predicted.
