Nice work, Taso. Deload week for me, as well. Seems somewhat unsatisfying, but I know it's necessary. I have squats left on the deload tonight then can start a new 4 week cycle.

since I'm injured I'm joining the deload crew

And I think I'll make another cheesecake too.

    Good progress this week Taso!

you can determine .2mm loss on calipers? I only go in 1mm increments generally.

it was "a hair over 6" last time so i put it as 6.2, and it was right on the line this time, so i put it as 6. i guess i'm splitting hairs. no pun intended

    6 weeks so far
    Deficit this past week: 3431
Weight: 155.6 (+0.2 gain since last week)

As usual, I'm expecting the weekend bloat to go away and have a more accurate weigh in tomorrow.

My scale is starting to become suspect. I got 3 different readings this morning (154.6, 156.2, and 155.6). Batteries may be low.

154 this morning. Once again tracking with predicted (153.7)

Starting the final week - 8 of 8.

Weigh in 155.6 - exactly the same as last week. In fact, last 3 weeks' consecutive weigh-ins have been the same +/- 0.2 lbs! No wonder people get confused and frustrated. I'm confident that I'm burning fat though. The scale will show it in a couple of days when I shed the delicious pizza and boozer water weight from the weekend.

I just need to be a little more strategic and strict this coming weekend, since the weigh-in next week is what counts for the "8 week challenge" :)

I ate like **** the night before my final weigh in and still got a .3kg drop. Scales are such bull**** anyway, the mirror will tell you im cut, but the scale may disagreee sometimes. Great work Taso, looking forward to that final progress shot. Hows your strength?

Strength is at a high point - never been stronger in my life. But the gains may be starting to slow finally.

Scale is 154 today; 1.6 lb drop from yesterday. Scale weight is bs indeed.

Did you see my scale weight experiment? +3kg -3kg +3kg -3kg in one day

Doing well mate, if the strength is up then it sounds like you could continue cutting after the 8 weeks if you wanted to.

Hah, didn't see the experiment in action, but I believe it!

Thanks man. I'll have to evaluate what to do next. Taking a week vacation in mid November, so that will be a diet break for sure. Then I am likely doing my first powerlifting comp Dec 1st. if I lose ~5 more lbs by the weigh in, I will be in the 67.5 kg class which will give me a slight edge. Otherwise I'll be in the 75kg, but I will be on the low end of it putting me at a slight handicap. Either way, it seems silly to cut going into a meet, so I may just eat tons and just try to be at my strongest.

First comp: I wouldn't worry about cutting weight. Just go and have some fun  I just did it for fun, not looking to smash records or anything. At the end of the day, turn up, have fun, meet like minded individuals and hopefully smash some new PB's

Since I will probably be eating big this weekend, I might as well take this morning's weight as my final weight in for the 8 week cut (7 weeks and 5 days instead of 8 weeks)

    Starting weight: 159 lbs
    Ending weight: 151.8 lbs
    Cumulative weight loss 7.2 lbs
Predicted weight loss (if I did my math right) is 6.67 lbs

    I made some new PR's on deadlift last night: 405 x 1 and 310 x 12.

    Feeling great!

I will take some "after pictures" and measurements in the next few days.
