NSV. I flew down to Florida to see my dad and when I was settled into my middle seat, I actually thought "wow, southwest now has wider seats!" Then I realized the seat is the same width, but I am not!

 HOWLING with laughter at the grins and santas!!

I am so sorry Hatters.. I started a topic for December this morning when I got up, and meant to come back and write but by the time I was read to leave for work I was running late and never got back; thanks to everyone for picking up the ball and running with it (or the santas and running with em lol). I can't post pics but I actually laughed out loud when I saw them..

I did a post when I got home this afternoon, but the ONE time I dont do it in a word doc; i lost it!! Arrrgh.. oh well... I'll stick to the reader's digest version this time so ya'll don't fall asleep reading it!

I assume everyone else is seeing the start of the December "goodies" at work; our building is a square .. 4 hallways with office sand sections along each hall.. and every unit has their own "snackage".. on dayshift I tend to wander the hallways and socialize with the straight day workers most of the time because I don't get to see them except every 5 weeks.. (not sure the bosses would want to hear this shift is spent socializing lol..) but every time I walk thru, I end up with a napkin full of treats LOL.. BUT.. it hasnt been too bad really; I've figured out that if I say "thank you so much; I'm going to go grab a coffee to enjoy this with" and then I run back to mmy desk and give it to a young pregnant co worker who is with me for a few months LOL.. god bless her she is happy to help and scarf it down in a heartbeat  Mind you the last trip around I came back with about 4 things thrust on me and she was lookng a little green by then LOL.. but so far our plot is working out well! And I was able to pass buy all the store bought stuff by saying "thanks, but I'm holding out for only home made goodies this year"! No guilt, nobody saying just try it..it's a win win so far! I know its ridiculous to tell myself I won't have a treat over this month, so I've made a compromise with myself.. I'm holding out for decadent and scrumptious! If I see or am offered something I think "hmm wow that looks really awesome".. I will indulge in a small bite or the whole thing, and savour every taste and sensation. And I'll pass on anything that is just mediocre or "so "so" - I demand scrumptious and totally calorie worthy LOL! So I was able to happily pass by the donuts and bakery tarts and store bought pound cake.. and when I stopped for a coffee and saw that my favouritest cookie in the world was b-a-c-k (its only avail at christmas here) you betcha I had one.. took me 10 minutes to eat it cause it was so good I didn't want it to end LOL. And I had no guilt whatsoever! Hopefully this mentality will keep me on track ... !

There have been too many Hatters posting lately; I know it's a crazy busy time for everyone so its understandable.. but I'm thinking at least a roll call might be in order to make sure everyone is doing okay ... and KNOWS that we're all here for each other; whether one of us in need of a hug and a reminder that we all believe in each other, or a "woot woot" pat on the back...

so... yeah... I think I'll do a ROLL CALL, Mad Hatters... doesnt have to be an actual post, but please check in! :flowerforyou:

SNOOZIE - I'm here, and I BELIEVE!

Yeah good to see all the smiles and the crazy Santa's. They made me laugh for sure.

Oh Snoozie good plan !!! Glad to say the treats have actually slowed down this week. Hoping that next week is good also.

I planned ahead and purchased a supply of ready made salads for the week. Struggled with carbs a bit today just couldn't resist rice two nights in a row.

Everyone have a great week :flowerforyou:

Well I am still here and trying to be good but .... am finding it so hard to resist all the "goodies" that are going around. So much so that I have gained 1.5 pounds over the past week. I so need to get back on track and from today am going to be good I promise

Tonya, here and accounted for. I also dropped off for a while as I was having a pity party. Now it has passed and I am back in the swing of things. I would love to have seehe, add pics of the puppies and all sorts of goodness since I can't get son-in-law to do them as often as I would like. Hmmm....wonder how much she charges for that kind of work? lol.

Janet, that is such a great NSV, I don't fly much but the last time I did it wasn't very comfortable. I am hoping for better results the next time I do.

I hope all of you have a great day and BTW---I opened the door Snoozie and no one was there....are you guys pranking me? Frosty and my little penguin didn't have a word to say about you being there:laugh:

Love seeing all the missing ladies,

Sorry to hear so many are struggling during this time of the year, but know I am also. I love this time of year makes me sad when I find myself dreaming of it being over and the temptation gone. I keep reminding myself that if I choose to not eat something doesn't mean that it will never be avaiable again. I keep asking which of the possible choices I will enjoy the most.

But on top of all this I am finding myself wanting cheesy pizza, jalopena cheese pringles, chips of all kinds, brick cheese, mashed potatoes, anything warm and creamy....I haven't figure out where these craving are coming from  I am dreaming of cakes, cookies, cheeseballs, candies :noway: :noway: :noway: I have to come up with a course of action for Christmas but at this point keep putting off thinking about it hoping my thoughts improve. This would be so much easier if it was garden season :frown:

Know that we are here and many of us are feeling the same so do not feel alone, Tammy

Just found out I can long on from school ssshhhhh

Carol, we had a Friendly's in AZ decades ago, but I do not believe there is one is sight now, which is a good thing for me I think :-) Actually, maybe we never had one in A and I am remembering one when I lived in Mass?? Anyway, not being much of a peanut butter fan, I think I would just have the mint chocolate chip :-)
