Live Fit Program

Hi, I'm new. How do I view the actual program? Is there a link on MFP? Thanks!

  • Do i have to login to that site as well or will the workouts be posted here on mfp?
  • It's easier to go to the website because people may be on different days if they decide to take different rest days. I can always post the workouts I'm doing in each phase if you want.
  • Ok i understand! i'll sign up now then! SOO excited to start!

I'm just finishing up week 5 (yay!) and it's definitely easier to print out the workouts from the site. That way you can bring them with you to the gym and record what you lift and track your progress.

My recommendation: Use measurements and hide your scale! In phase 1 I gained about 2 lbs. but lost FIVE inches from my waist, hips and thighs.

  • Kat, I am on week 7. Have you been pretty good at reducing your carbs on this phase? So far I haven't but I am committed to do better at it. I love this program! I also agree with the hide the scale. I have lost lots of inches as well and just love how well my clothes are fitting.

I have just joined you, completed 1st workout this morning. We have have a great deal of equipment at home, no gym nearby, so I will do what I can and modify when I have to. So glad to have more experienced peps around!

Did my my first workout today! Got my 1 rep max and lifted 60% of my max and the weights seemed to be pretty spot on! I was AWFUL at the push ups, both wide and narrow! I got 10, 10, 8 on the wide and 4, 5, 5 on the narrow...oh well lots of room for improvement!

My HRMs battery died so I didn't get my calories burned. :ohwell: Oh well, I'll get a battery by tomorrow! We are having a pot luck at work today for the new year (I work at a hospital so I don't have today off) and it will be the last one for a while! Starting tomorow is Day 2 and Day 1 of clean (as I can) eating! I get paid Friday so Saturday I will be shopping w/ ingredients for 2 recipes for dinners (I work swing shift).

How did everyone else like their first workout??
  • Great job kkaus. I went in yesterday and it felt great to get back into it. I took a few days off last week because I was sick. Today is my dad's birthday so we have been busy doing stuff with him today. I should be able to get all of the workouts still in this week though. What do you do for work? My husband works at the hospital too. He works in Angiography and has been on call all weekend. He has been gone tons. Can't wait for him to be home more.

JulieCarlile- I work at a psychiatric hospital. I'm a Mental Health Specialist (MHS) which is basically a corrections officer in the hospital. It's not a big one, 34 patients on my floor and 34 on the 2nd floor so 68 patients in the hospital.

Looking foward to day 2 tomorrow!!! :o]

Great job everyone! Glad to see everyone getting their workouts in! :)
  • mz asher- Love your name. Asher is my little boy's name :) I workout at the gym. I think a lot of the workouts would be hard to do if you don't have all the equipment but you may be able to modify some of the stuff or find workouts at home that are good. I do know that she has a workout on the site that is an emergency workout if you can't make it to the gym.

What's funny is that her nutrition plan has me eating MORE carbs than I was before! What's tough for m is not eating many carbs after 3:00, I really seem to want them at night because that is when I workout. Do you have any suggestions for that?

Great work getting to week 7!
  • Yeah I agree it is really hard to not eat as many carbs in the evening. I workout in the afternoon and am starving by the evening. I don't really like eating meat much. I can do chicken and sometimes enjoy seafood. But the same thing starts to get old. I need to find some new recipes. :)

How many of you ladies are following the diet plan layout and eating at MFPs calorie deficit?

I'm going to do my best but like I said, i can't see myself trying to choke down a "turkey muffin" it doesn't even sound good! So far for my "snacks" I have included Greek yogurt with frozen fruit, nuts, carrots w/ hummus, mandarin oranges and an apple...not too bad I don't think! I need to add more veggies which I will do when I go shopping Saturday!
  • kkaus- I am not following her plan but try to eat pretty clean. I always have at least one protein shake after working out sometimes I have one in the morning though. And a big salad for lunch with chicken breast. In the 2nd phase she wants you to cut down on carbs after 3 pm. This is hard for me because I usually make things my husband likes for dinner, and he doesn't eat as well. :) But I think what you have on your list are great.

Have you been seeing good results with eating clean? That's my biggest worry is not seeing results...I know it sounds kind of irrational but it's true! I know I won't follow it perfectly but for the most part I'd like to try!

Here is what Jamie has to say about it, http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/jamie-eason-livefit-trainer-phase-1-day-8.html

    Good luck!
  • kkauz42: You know how I always think of it? If you don't see results right away, at least it's better than sitting on the couch and doing nothing! I was reading an article that said it takes some professional years to build muscle. You might not see them right away because you see yourself day in and day out but keep doing it and it will show! What else is there to do? This will keep you healthy, fit, and looking good

Very true! I know by following the meal plan lossley (following the big meals) It will make a big difference and my snacks wont be junk! I have before pictures so I think I may do pics at the end of each phase! I am sore from it so far so I know something is happening!

I successfully completed LiveFit this summer - and I'm currently doing it again! YOu can check out my profile pictures for my before/after. I LOVE IT!! Great results and you can eat 6 times a day :) I dont belong to a gym, so I work out in my home gym. All I need is my treadmill and my free weights.

I'm determined to only weigh myself at the start/end of each phase. I actually had an argument with myself about it on Monday (Typically, weigh in day), but the anti-scale me won out.

I'm sick and tired of the ups and downs that come with weight loss, so I'm hoping by lifting and gaining muscle, I'll be able to feel better in my body as opposed to feel better about what the scale says.

I also got the supplement stack she suggested, and I think the only thing I would change is to get the BCAAs that you can mix in water to drink instead of trying to swallow the capsules. I always feel like they stick in my throat, and I've heard good things about the fruit-flavored drink mix.

Week 2 is DONE for me!! Starting Week 3 Monday and I'm excited!! I noticed that there are laying leg curls opposed to the seated leg curls. My gym doesn't have the lying curl machine so i'm going to try to do it with a dumbbell! I don't have the Hammer strength lat pull at my gym either so I'm going to do pull ups with my same form as the hammer strength (thank you Google for alternatives)!

My gym doesn't have seated leg curls either so I just did all laying leg curls, and used the cable machine instead of the Hammer strength. At least we're creative :)
