Cardio Power and Resistance: I can feel myself pushing harder.
Pure Cardio: I push myself to get through a minute but then I am tired when the next exercise starts.

I'm excited that I made it this far! and excited to keep going!

Totally agree here ^^^. it does get easier the more you do it the stronger your get. I had power/resistance today. it was crazy but I think its my fav. I could tell I was getting more in and working harder. :)

@boberrymom, your very welcome. usually I do this on facebook so we can post pics of food, sweat, ect. it really is a great motivation. but thought id try it this way for those at work or not on Facebook. So far doing great! I just want to motivate and be motivated. :)

Alright so it was my second time doing plyometric, and I burned LESS calories today, then the first time I did it. Is that normal? My body is just so exhausted, but I thought i pushed so hard! Just making sure its normal that I burned more the first time then I did the second time.

I don't have a heart rate monitor so I couldn't tell ya. I did feel VERY tired today, I could barely move.

Its normal to start burning less calories as you go on, its just your body showing its getting fit!

Mikeyh is right! It is normal. I was burning less too so DO NOT worry about it. I just learned this thru P90X...the stronger/better you get the less you will burn in calories BUT your metabolism will still grow. :D So you'll burn more thru out the day.
  • SO SO SO Sorry this is posted so late. That 9:30am 3mile run really did a number on me and I was totally not expecting to feel so drained.

Here is DAY 2 of week 2 tip of the day.

Try to eat 5 times per day—3 meals and 2 snacks—each with roughly the same amount of calories. It keeps your blood sugar stable instead of peaking and crashing, which can lead to overeating and a general poor feeling.`

Swapped Week 2 Pure Cardio and plyo, so I'll be doing pure cardio tomorrow evening (can't do it at 6am after a late Wednesday night!)

Cardio recovery does feel good doesnt it? My friend who enjoys yoga now wants to try that session out

My husband and I also noticed that it is harder to get our heart rate up this week which I consider a win! It means we are building up more stamina! Its amazing how quickly this workout does that! Yay for NSV's!
  • DAY 10:
It's Week 2, and soreness may be setting in. You might be tempted to skip a workout because you are feeling "so sore." Exercise actually increases circulation, which in turn speeds healing. So keep going and make sure to get your 8 hours of sleep each night so that your body is getting the rest and recovery it needs.

I just found this out to be true today. Yesterday as most you may know I did Core Synergistic's (P90X, finishing that up this week :D) and I ran 3miles. I was feeling wrecked and I was planning on just doing Recovery today. However I decided to wait to do my workout later in the day and I am Soooo glad I did and I decided to PUSH myself and do Plyo anyway. I did better today than I did last Friday with Plyo and burned more calories. Thats a WIN!

Way to go guys! This week is really going fast for me, I am so thankful it's thursday! Keep pressing play, even if it's 1:00 o'clock in the morning try to get these workout in. You'll be glad you did! Day 23 CHECK!

Let's make sure we all get our T-shirts btw!

hehe, I cant get a tshirt as a. I'm borrrowing the DVD set and b. Im in the UK - but please post a photo when you get it!

I did the pure cardio session this morning, it's so much fun! bonkers, without any breaks but as soon as he said to take a break when you feel your form slipping, I realised how sensible it was. I cant do pushups still, I just do a tiny dip on the pressup/jacks.
  • DAY 11:

Everyone is doing great. I assume we have a few that dropped off already as there are 42 members and only a handful of posters. BUT those who are still committed and here I am so HAPPY you are!

As you are making fitness part of your routine, those real-life stresses keep trying to creep back in. The answer is not to skip your workout or have a cheat meal—just get in and Push Play. Working out actually releases stress-reducing hormones and will encourage you to continue fueling your body with healthy food. Stay consistent, guys!

Today my week 2 starts. I did Cardio Power & Resistance this morning and I was knackered! Sooo tired, I had to force myself to sleep last night at 11:00pm. Although I was not very tired, but I felt it this morning at 5:30. I was in no mood to dig deeper...lol. But since I was up and the DVD was on... I did. It was worth it. Can't wait till my Garmin Forerunner 110 GPS Watch with Heart Rate Monitor arrives. Then I can see how much I am really burning.

that's a good idea, I have an HRM but not used it...I will start doing so! I imagine I'll need to set the tolerances much higher so it doesnt beep in panic!

More sleep makes such a difference - I'm waking at 5.45 and starting by 6am (I have no idea how you Americans have such early mornings!), and it took me a while to get into that but it's okay now. I cant imagine I'd do as well as you did with only 6h30 sleep :. Well done!

Today is day 10 for me and actually looking forward to Cardio Circuit, as funny as that may sound.....I did Pure Cardio yesterday (my least favorite lol, wonder why lol) So now i see all the other DVDs as easier lol. I'm so glad that there are people to chat with about Insanity that are on around the same days. It helps so much!
I am still struggling with the calorie counts because i am so used to only eating 1300 and working out....mind you not as intense as insanity, but i have not seen any weight loss, in fact i've gained but lost 4.5" last week so obviously my body is changing even though the weight number isn't going down. I've accepted that the scale isn't accurate finally after so many years lol.
I got a chiro adjustment yesterday and tuesdays is going to be a true rest day for me, i've book chiropractor and massage on those days since i have no insanity workout. So looking forward to those days.

Hopping on board here. Week 2 day 5 for mw today, I've been discouraged by gaining on the scale but it sounds like a common thing the first few weeks. Anyone else in this group going thru this?
  • boberrymom
    boberrymom Posts: 361 Member
Yep i am! The scale has shown me gaining not losing, but my measurements tell me otherwise.

Cardio power and resistance this morning (I'm a day behind!) - it was great!! Really hot during warm up and was worried but then I felt super strong the whole way through, pushups an' all!

I'm not doing scales or measurements until each fit test...see how that goes...! I'll let you know in a couple of days

TOmorrow I'm doing a 12k run (or more likely a 6k slow jog followed by a 6k walk) at 11am. Do I get up early and do tomorrows session, before the run, or do the run first then do Insanity in the evening? it's pure cardio, so I'm thinking the latter. Thoughts please?

AND YAY I can keep up with pressups! Go pathetic arm muscle developement!

Awesome! great job! What time is your run? For me it would depend on what time it was, you will need some time to recover because running is as tough a workout as pure cardio is and they will both tire you. I certainly wouldn't do back to back. If possible, do one in the morning, and the other at night but this is dependent when your run is.

I decided i wasn't even going to do the scale anymore, and had my husband hide it because it lies to me all the time. It doesn't tell me that i ate properly all week and worked out everyday, but my measurements do, however i think i am going to only do my measurements at my fit tests as well. I can feel my body changing and that is most important to me.

Good luck on your run :)

Run is at 11am...I think you're right, I'll go for the morning run and then do Insanity tomorrow night - thanks!

The run ought to be fun - it's the British heart Foundation '999' theme run, so doctors and nurses! If it's bucketing down, I'm going as a patient and wearing jammies over my running stuff, and my fiance is wearing a lab coat. Must remember a camera :)

Yeah i would wait and have some recovery first. Good luck on your run :)

Just ran the 8km - was thinking of doing a 3rd lap to make it 12 but my feet acheses! Good thing is that we jogged the whole route, twice around the lake and didn't stop. I thought I'd get 3 or 4k in and not have any legs left but I think doing Insanity has probably built up some more strength and improved breathing and all sorts. Pure Cardio of Insanity this evening :)

    Whoop!
