Monday morning 6:00am will be the start of Week 5 for me!0
-
Starting it tonight after my first weekend back at work from maturnity leave. Not looking foreword to it after 2 12 hr shifts. Only oncedid I make it for the full 5 min both times one week 4. It was close but it does not count. Figured I would give it a shot and if I need to I can repeat. Let's do this!!0
-
I think I may repeat week 5. Well... maybe day 2 for a few days.... The 2nd 8 min run gives me trouble. I tried day 3 and I'm just not ready to run 25 min at once.0
-
I am! I'm excited but scared! I am mostly hoping the weather is not so hot and humid as it has been. Friend request sent!0

Can't wait to see how everyone does! Istone03 - isn't it 20 min not 25?????0
-
Just finished week 5 run 2!!! Felt pretty good. Good luck to all those who are yet to start week 5, you CAN do this:)0

I wonder if different apps have different times?
MIne says:
W5D1 three 5 minute runs
W5D2 8 minutes 5 minutes 8 minutes
W5D3 20 minutes0 -
W5D1 finished. First 5 min run was easy. First time I looked down at my watch was 30 sec till the walking. Surprised me. Heck yeah. May be W5D3 is not to far out of reach.0
-
Doing W5D1 today after work. Eep!0
-
Starting W5 next week!!! Feel free to friend me!!0
-
I just did Day 2 of Week 5 yesterday. I thought there were three runs instead of just two 8 min runs so I ended up running after the "cool down" ended. I'll probably be doing day 3 tonight or tomorrow night.0
-
Everyone is doing so great!
I tackled day one early this morning, with no problems. Such a long way from a week ago, when I was frustrated and struggling with the 5 min segments.
fjrandol - you got this....just take it slow0 -

WAY TO GO MUNDY!!0 -
I did W5D2 this morning. It was surprisingly easy! My day 3 shows Warmup 5:00, jog 8:00, walk 2:00, jog 10:00, walk 2:00. I use the C25K app on iPhone called Run 5K by Lucius Kwon and Kasten Searles.0

Out of curiosity, how weeks is the program on your app?0 -
Day two of week 5 tomorrow. Two 8 min runs doesn't seem tooo scary...0
-
I may have screwed myself for tomorrow morning....I just got home from a 45 minute bike ride on the Prairie Path
8 minutes? Only twice? HA! Piece of cake ! We definitely have this whipped!0 -
Okay I made it through day 1 no problem! Hopefully the rest of the week will go equally smoothly :-)0
-
Week 5 Day 2 is DONE!!!
Weren't too bad
2.13 miles at 14:32 minutes per mile (that includes the 5 minute warm up and cool down)0 -
Way to go, FJRANDOL....
Day 2 done here....the two 8 min jogs went fine...no real issues. 13min miles for the first two - basically a 5 min walk and an 8 min jog came out to exactly a mile for me. I did a longer cool down just because of how far from home I ended up - so total 2.4miles for me. WHOOO HOOOO! Definitely will need to slow it down for the 20 min one later this week.
Keep the updates coming, everyone!0 -
Thought i'd come and join you as I did W5D2 today and plan for W5D3 on Friday, I know I can do it, I used to do 5k's before having children, but 2 children & 4 years down the line argh0

You are waaaayyy ahead of me - I've never been a runner. (I guess at some point, I'll have to stop saying that....) - The 8 minute segments from day 2 this morning were the longest I've ever jogged in my ENTIRE life. day 3 is a little scary.0 -
Tomorrow is my W5D2, did W5D1 on Tuesday. I did my first 5K last Sept but I've never been a runner. Last year I did the majority of my running on a treadmill and knew that this year I needed to get outside. My second 5K will be in Sept. It's my breathing that I need to concentrate on, slow and steady....0

I just peeked ahead to Week 6 Day 1.
Warmup
jog 5
walk 3
jog 8
walk 3
jog 5
That's only 18 minutes total, and shorter than Day 3 of Week 5. So if we get thru Friday, Monday should be a breeze!0 -
I was scared and it was super hot but....I completed week 5 run 3!!! Yay me:). I am running my first ever 5k in October and I am really excited that I was able to complete the 20 min!0
-
W5D2 seemed okay for the first 8, but I'm fairly certain the second round of running was waaaay more than 8 minutes long. Had to drop my speed down again, but at least I kept going the whole time!0
