ok well nothing like spending my entire Wed. at the doctors office. Went in for my regularly scheduled appointment for a stress test and visit with the doctor. Well I knew that my regular doctor was on vacation so I was going to have to see a partner which I was fine with at first considering it was my SIL doctor and she can't say enough good things about him. Well now I know why I do not like my SIL. This doctor I saw was awful I could not stand the man. I do not doubt that he does not know his stuff but he is not a people person at all. When he got in the room he complained the whole time about about my stress test results than he asked me why my doctor scheduled me for one because 32 weeks is too early. How should I know why my doctor scheduled me for one I trust and like my doctor and he says I needed one so I had one who is he to second guess my doctor in front of me. He also kept his back to me the whole time and when I tried to tell him about the pelvic pain I had been having he dismissed my concerns!!!! He then wants me to have an ulrasound that day. My doctor told me he would do another ultrasound at 34 weeks. Now this doctor who does not listen has scared the pants off me that something is wrong and now I have to wait almost 2 hours for the ultrasound. I call my husband and tell him whats going on so now he is upset he leaves work and meets me at the hospital and we sit around the cafeteria waiting for my appointment. We go in and of course NOTHING is wrong she is fine movement is great she passes all 8 tests and she is 4lbs 7oz already. I guess the highlight out of my day is I got to have some 3d pictures done. So I missed an entire day of work . So now I am going once a week I feel its a little early to be going once a week, but that is what they tell me. I will be seeing my regular doctor on Monday and believe me he will hear about his "partner". Does not give me a warm and fuzzy feeling and I will be making sure that there is no way this other doctor could possibly do my delivery.

That is frustrating. I'm glad everything was good though with your baby...in the end. Hopefully you don't have to see that doctor again. I see 4 different doctors through my practice and I'm lucky enough to like all of them, although there are a couple I prefer.

When had my son ( was in a different state) I went to a shared practice where I saw all 6 doctors in the practice through my pregnancy and I can't say a bad word about any of them in fact the one who delivered my son only saw me once during my whole pregnancy and because of that as soon as my water broke she came to the hospital to study my chart since she wasn't familiar with it. The practice I go to here I only went to it because of the NP I used to see for my yearly exams she doesn't do babies so she reccommended the doctor I am with now. Now I know why this other one was a douche. I wish I could have seen one of the other 4 not sure I would like them better I tend to be picky. I just hate being told contradicting answers to my questions it makes start to doubt your skills.

Had my 32 week appt today, and have to start going every week now for a biophysical ultrasound. I have GD and they wanted me to come 2x/week now, but my doc is an hour away (each way) and cant possibly see going twice each week for NST. So, they agreed just to do once-a-week ultrasounds/growth scans. I love seeing the baby on ultrasound, even if it is just the 2D. It does make me nervous getting them done this often now b/c we dont want to know what we are having! We've made it this long, I am just nervous that someone is going to slip....I'd be so disappointed (that's what happened w/ our last daughter, didnt want to know but the nurse said something). Anyways, baby weighed in at 3 lbs 14 oz, in the 35% percentile. I was worried that the baby would be too big b.c of GD, but all looks good! We'll see how much his/her weight changes next week!

  • Hi Ladies, its nice to read everyone's reviews and see how far along everyone has come. So im at 35 weeks. Today I had a really inappropriate comment made to me at work. This lady, who mind you is a Supervisor said " your body must be working double because you have a parasite on board"..At first I didnt get it and then I was like what?? Did this b#tch really say that?? I told her my baby is not a parasite.. She didnt say anything and walked out of the restroom. Like who says that?? Sorry just venting it made me really upset

Glad to hear your baby is doing well!

At our 18w and 36w u/s we told the tech before we got started that we did not know and did not want to find out the gender, and he was very good about it. He avoided the "important bits" and never used the words "he/she".

Do you find a lot of people question why you decided not to find out the gender, or think it's odd that you don't want to know? I get it all the time, and I'm tired of it. I'll admit I'm sick of the gender neutral clothes (or lack thereof! The selection is terrible...) and can't wait to buy girl/boy stuff, but I love the surprise of not knowing the gender until birth. I feel like it makes it a little more exciting!

Yes, people are always asking why and how I could do that...my family is the worst, though. There are some people that think it's great, though. It is way more exciting, plus I already know when the baby will be born (scheduled c-section) and pretty much what time, too! This is def. my last and it it just more fun this way. I am not into the gender neutral clothes at all, so I will buy one boy & one girl outfit to take to the hospital with us. I figure it's close enough to Christmas, that my family can go shopping accordingly! Plus, there is a Target and a mall right down the street from the hospital, so I can always just send the hubby out to my some clothes, if need be!

Good for you for keeping it a suprise, too!!

I have GD too and I start this week going once per week for NST. I am also 32 weeks 5days and had a biophysical yesterday and mine weighs in at 4lbs 7oz. I am terrified she will be to big. My son was 8lbs 14oz and I didn't have GD with him. They say she is in the 60th percentile. They still say that is not too big if she grows at the same rate she should be 7lbs 8oz if she makes it to due date.

I believe there has been another baby born this month. Yes I have been stalking the October thread and it is believed that Faughorn has had her baby. So exciting I hope all is well and can't wait to hear the story or see the pictures. For the rest of you October moms good luck and can't wait to see your pictures :)

I haven't been posting sense the second trimester board, just lurking. But I had a stressful appointment a few days ago. I'm 37 weeks and was sent for an urgent u/s because my belly was measuring 33w. My baby is small, but not so small that my OB is worried. She has some measurements that are 32-34 weeks and weight is low. My OB is OK with it because I'm 5'1.5" and was 110lbs before pregnancy. The big concern is that she is frank breech. Her head is in my left ribs, butt down (but not engaged) and feet up by her head. She is very unlikely to turn at this point because there is no room.

So now I'm concerned about hip problems after she is born. I don't care that I'll have to have a c/s at 39 weeks. I'm worried about my little girl and how this could affect her. I'm OK that she will be tiny, I was too. I just don't want her to be born and have health problems. My OB mentioned a few things that could cause her to be breech so late, so I'm stressing about that too. So of them could make it more difficult for me to have another baby, and I'll be more likely to have breech babies in the future. She also told me that breech babies tend to cause more pain/uncomfortableness during pregnancy. That is why my mid back hurts, why my kidneys are pissed off, why I can eat well (weight gain has stalled), and why breathing is a bit of any issue.

So my little girl will be born Nov 9 unless I go into labor before then. If I do they will check her position by u/s and do a section. We are moving from Alabama to Alaska a month after she is born. So I'm a bit worried and stressed with the entire situation.

Had an appointment today. I am 36w6d, and I found out I tested positive for strep B so have to be on antibiotics during labor. Kinda sucks because that will limit mobility some, but as long as I have a healthy baby! I am not dilated at all, so I kinda figure he will be late as I orginally thought, but I am effacing more.

Jamie-that's good news, take it easy!

Have you looked into doing HIbiclens along with probiotics? Then you can ask to be retested before delivery. And definitely don't let them push you to break your water. They get even more hard about your water being broken for a while if you are GBS positive.

I agree! The accountant in me would like my girl born this year, because we've already met our insurance deductible and for tax purposes. But, the mother in me wants her to cook as long as she needs to!

Is it terrible that I want my son to come a little early? He's due December 22nd, and I feel like he's going to feel robbed if he is born on the 24th/25th. Also, we're naming him for my grandfather who was born on the 17th. I know they come when they come, but I have my fingers crossed super-tight for this day.

Also, that comment about the parasite? I would have had to laugh at her. I could be wrong, and I am imagining her as a very particular type of woman that seems to be in abundance in NYC, but I imagine she's just jealous.

My daughter is due the 19th, and I hope she comes a little early also. (And also on my grandpa's bday!) I was born on Christmas day, and although I didn't feel "robbed", the older you get, the more people tend to forget. (I would NEVER let my husband forget though, haha.) I'll never forget the year I went to my grandma's for Christmas and saw a birthday cake on the table. I was a little excited that they finally remembered my bday! Then, I walked up to the cake and read it: Happy Birthday Jesus! I have a very religious aunt that was visiting from out of town that year...haha.

Haha, I remember you telling that story once before, ajsdream! My brother is a Dec 24th baby and while he's never really complained, I don't think he's a fan. All holiday babies I know hate having a holiday birthday because people usually forget it is their birthday, too. I'm due Oct 29, and I'm really hoping baby doesn't decide to arrive on the 31st!

I have a sister who was born on Dec. 27 and she is a complete nightmare on Christmas even though my parents worked very hard to separate Christmas and her birthday. She still tried to ruin Christmas for the rest of us and ungrateful it still makes me mad to think about it. I used to tell her it was her fault not moms she was due Feb 5 and came early.

I'm a New Years baby so I understand the holiday thing. My birthday is a week after Christmas but my parents were always amazing about separating the two. I have a feeling a Halloween baby is not out of the question for me.

I was hoping for the baby to come early, but I'm pretty much out of time with that one!

Due 10/28... Sleep is hit or miss for me. I've been kind of in a daze lately. I got made fun of at work for being "mentally tired." Apparently, I wasn't making much sense while talking all morning!

I have been going twice a week to the dr because of my blood pressure. I went this morning (39 weeks, 4 days) and luckily, it was back to normal this morning. :) I'm about 1 cm dilated, still have my mucous plug and baby has dropped a little more. My dr. is great- he said dilation doesn't mean anything- I could go in to labor tonight. I do have the plug though and that's a sign that I probably won't go in to labor too soon. It'll happen when it happens.

I have an appointment scheduled for Monday and an ultrasound scheduled for Wednesday (in case baby's not here yet). The u/s will let the dr. get a better look at the baby and check the fluids. At that point, we'll schedule an induction, if necessary. Again, I'm hoping for none of these appointments!!! Come on baby!!

Also so tired of the old wives tales. My nurse even told us to have sex today! Poor husband has such a mental problem(dilation weirds him out) right now- so it's not exactly easy to get him in the mood... Sorry TMI!

aww its definitely not a terrible thing to wish for. My due dates were between Dec 30th -jan 7th. I'm not sure how I'd feel if she's born on new years... if it'd be an exciting thing or it being on a big day would ruin it... my oldest was due decemeber 10th and was born the 17th... we always have a bdya party for him but I always feel bad sending out invites cuz I know ppl are very very very busy getting ready for Christmas & spending all their money on gifts. So we are going w a every 5 yrs for a big party & just our little family the rest of the bdyas. But he's a lucky boy to be getting ppresents twice. Plus u have to keep in mind a very low percentage of women actually give birth on their official due date. But good luck :)

When I had my son I am not even sure I ever lost my plug. I dilated to 3 cm was told to come in the next morning to be induced and exactly 6 hours before I was to show up my water broke. Hope it is soon for you I know how you feel.

Thanks for the suggestion, I will have to look into that. I was thinking about asking to be re-tested anyway aorund 39-40 weeks since it can come and go, but i know they just want to be on the safe side, and so do I!

As for holiday babies, I understand you guys. We have several in my family. My MIL is a Christmas baby, my sister the day after, and my dad New Year's. Although my parents always did something separate for my sister's b-day it kind of sucks as a child because you get one gift, but it was also great in a way because the whole family was usually in town for her birthday.

Anyone else finding it increasingly difficult to eat healthy at this stage??? I find myself just wanting fast food, candy or chips. Healthy food just does not seem appealing AT ALL
