Nov 1 - Dec 31 - Weight loss or Exercise Challenge!!

Ok Guys as some of us are wrapping up the Halloween challenge, I thought it would be fun to challenge ourselves through the rest of the holiday season. Some of us still have a weight to lose, others want to increase their exercise or you may have some other goal you would like to reach. We will post our weekly accomplishment each Monday until the 31st. So think of what your goals are between now and the new year and join in on the fun.

I am going to start with my goals:

Weight - I am nearly at my original goal of 175 so I am going to make a stretch goal of 160.

Exercise - I want to walk / run 125 miles between now and the new year.

    Would love to join in! Can always use the extra help and support along this journey!

    My goals:

    Weight - I would like to loose another 35lbs by then. I am 2 months post op and so far have lost 40lbs just since the surgery, so I am going to say 35lbs seems pretty doable! Still a long ways to where I want to be, but will make one hell of an awesome way to ring in the New Year!

    Exercise - I have been averaging 5-6 miles per day on my exercise bike - I'd like to bump it up a bit and bike 400 miles between now and the end of the year!!!

    Put me down for 35 pounds too. That will put me within 50 pounds of my dream goal, and 25 pounds within my realistic goal.

    I use my recumbent bike every day too, but haven't kept track of miles, just minutes. Let me get back on the exercise part.

    Starting today because the Halloween goal thread completed today.

    I don't have a way to measure my exercise goal yet except to say I would like to be running a 5K in the New Year and I am still walking some of it.

    Starting weight 169.0 Goal by end of end of year 160.

    I want to lost at least 30 lbs before the end of the year and get my A1C down to 5.5, so the more exercise the better. Count me in!

    Also, I'm new and would love some friendly motivation :)

    holding steady...should see a loss soon.
    9/12/12: 194.6 ---- YAY!! - Still don't know if I will make goal...If not there's always Thanksgiving and Christmas
    9/19/12: 187 ---- Big loss this week!!!! - Now I will stall for the next 3...lol, but 175 is getting closer!!!!
    9/26/12: 184.6 ---- This just might happen!!!
    10/3/12: 185 ---- 10 more lbs. It will happen!!!
    10/10/12: 185.6---- holding steady, but it should start again soon...PMS!!!...lol
    10/17/12: 183.6---- 2 more weeks!!! It's gonna be close!!
    10/24/12: 178.6 ----Good loss this week! 1 week to go - will I make it????

    Didn't quite make the 175, but I lose 26.8lbs!!! So I will start here with our next challenge!! Great job everyone!!

    I've never done anything like this before. I'm in!

    Weight: I'd like to lose the remaining regain weight I have and get back to my lowest of 122.

    Exercise: I want to burn 3500 calories a week working out six days a week, three of them including strength trainging. I'd also like to complete one month of a strength training program (work allowing), either the 10 Minute Trainer or ChaLean Extreme.

    I'm in!

    Goals: 1. Lose 10 lb or 2. Be consistently walking 3 days a week or 3. Be able to walk 4 miles in 30 min.

    If I can achieve any one of the 3 I will be happy.

    New goals!
    Well, as I'm losing only about 2 lbs a week nowadays and we have 8 weeks before the new year, I think I'll shoot for losing 19 lbs to get to 190. I'll weigh in on Mondays since that's what day NYE is on.

    My second goal is really a daily goal of getting in at least 60 oz of liquids a day. I'm really struggling with this, so I need to seriously focus!

    I am doing this!

    Weight:
    11/4 - Will fill this in tomorrow.
    11/18 - first weight goal - Lose 3lbs - might be a bit aggressive since I seem to have slowed a bit. Be in onderland. It is so close...
    12/3 - second weight goal - No gain over the Turkey holiday or 1lb lost.
    12/16 - third weight goal - down 1-2lbs
    12/31 - fourth weight goal - to have achieved 5-6lbs down. And to be firmly in onderland. (being a tad conservative here)

    Exercise:
    Be consistent with aerobic exercise. Walk \ Stationary Bike at least 3 times a week.
    Walk \ Jog the Turkey 5k Trot at work on 11/16
    Begin a strength program.
    12/31 - My exercise log shows my activity everyday!

    I can do this!!!

    Count me in!! 30 pounds into 2013!! My goal is to lose 15 pounds in November and 15 in December. I do not want to gain any weight over the holidays!! October was my birthday month and I kinda stalled due to all the festivities and events I participated in. Now I must conquer that hump and get back to it.

    I want to walk for at least a half hour on my lunch break everyday. And I need to join the gym. It is so hard finding a good workout partner!! I think I may go to Zumba classes to!!

    11-5-12 = 168.4 (-0.6) Stupid Monday, scale said 165.8 yesterday but not today nope not today.

    I am at 165 as of today-11/5/12. My surgeon's goal for me is 155. I would like to be at 150 by 1/1/13, thats 15 pounds to loose by then. I usually average 2 pounds lost a week. I am also upping my exercise and doing at least 4 miles a day, 2 miles in AM and 2 miles in PM with Leslie Sansone walking dvd. I am adding other exercise too with stability ball recently along with weights for arm toning and bands. I am 5' 4" and my person goal is to get to 130-140. I had sleeve surgery 6/11/12. I lost 47 pounds pre op from 2/11/12 to 6/11/12 and have lost 58 pounds post op.

    11/5: Weight- 139.5 pounds, which is 6.5 higher than the last time I weighed myself but it's not going to bring me down. Burned 841 calories on my stationary bike this morning, 2659 till I reach my weekly goal.

    THIS IS GREAT IM IN!!!!

    CURRENTLY I WORK OUT ON AND OFF SO MY GOAL IS TO WORK OUT EVERYDAY FOR AT 30 MINUTES AND GET AT LEAST 6 TO 8 HRS OF SLEEP. I WANT TO INCREASE MY FLUID INTAKE.

    OK- I'm in!

    Goals:
    -12 lbs down by 12/31 (Loss is much slower now...need to be realistic)

    - consistently exercise--walk 3 days per week
    -fitness center program 3 days per week

    - 64 ounces of fluid a day....tough one

    I should have checked-in Monday, but totally forgot!

    So, since 10/30 I've lost 5.6 lbs. I have another 30 to go to my goal for the end of the year. I feel good about meeting this goal.

    Exercise - hasn't been great -I feel and re-injured my bad knee the day we started this challenge - so I've had to nurse the knee and I am just getting back to my cycling.

    11-5-12 = 168.4 (-0.6) = running 25 minutes solid.
    11-12-12 = 164.4 (-4.0) = running 26 minutes solid. I have never had a 4 pound week, wow.

    11/5/12 weight was 165.6
    11/11/12 weight was 165.4 UGH only lost .2 pounds. Must be going through another dreaded stall! I have upped my exercise to include walking 4 miles a day in one hour, 50 sit ups a day and over the head upper arm curls 50 reps with 3 pound weight in each hand.
    I am staying on track with protein, food and liquids so not for sure why I didn't loose more. I usually loose 1.5-2 pounds a week!
    Oh well, hoping next week will show a bigger loss.

    11/12/12 - 204.2 Wooohooo I have been losing pretty slowly (or just not moving at all) the past couple weeks. pretty happy for a 3.2lb loss
    I've been carrying a water bottle with me everywhere, but sadly, once it's emptied once, I generally forget about it :(. Took in 6 cups of fluids yesterday though which is better than usual for me

    This morning (11/12/12) my weight was 197.4. I guess I am losing about 2 pounds a week, but to be honest, I haven't kept close track. Since my surgery on 9/27/12, I have lost 20.6 pounds. If I have a goal, it is to see the 180's by January 1st. I was worried about my weight loss being slow, but my surgeon explains it in percentages. Something like I have lost 49% of the weight needed to be lost and the rest will be slower, because I am getting closer to my goal.
    Exercise wise, I just walk. Couldn't tell you how many miles, just that I try to get in an hour each day. When it rains, I use Leslie Sansone Walk Slim and can do about 3 miles. Before my surgery, I could barely walk to my mailbox, so there has been a major improvement. I am "with" my surgeon in the belief that we need to "just keep moving." Gardening, cleaning, walking....doing everyday things that we can make habits of for the rest of our lives.
