I found this cool website that shows how much weight gain is due to growing baby, placenta, uterus, fluid retention, etc...during the pregnancy process. The link is below if anyone wants to check it out:

    http://www.easybabylife.com/weight-gain-during-pregnancy.html

That is super helpful, thank you!

What's interesting is that at 40 weeks, they attribute less than a pound (I think it was .86 pounds) to your breasts. It seems like more, but then if you think about what a pound really weighs, it makes sense.

33 weeks and up 39 lbs since before pregnancy. According to OB it's only 25 though since they started counting at 12 weeks hehe
In any case they're not concerned because I was at the lower end of healthy BMI before.

Almost 20 weeks and holding steady at 20 lbs. I also started at the lowish end of the BMI index, and nausea eating whipped up a shocking (and depressing) 15 lbs in the first trimester, but the gain has apparently slowed down a little now that I'm not as sick. I also had a scary emergency appendectomy, so that probably kept the gain low. I cannot, however, recommend that as a good weight management strategy during pregnancy! (Or ever.)

It's the nausea eating that did me in too early on. I never threw up but had constant nausea and eating is the only thing that made me feel better.

I gained 3.6 lbs this week...trying not to freak out! I'm 15weeks 3days...really hoping it's just water weight and I have a little bit of a loss next week :OP. The nausea is still there, but my puking has gone down to about once or twice a day...I guess we'll see.

probably mostly water, I have weeks where I will gain a bunch and then I won't gain anything for like 2 weeks. it evens out.

    Totally agree! Same here.

Don't sweat it. Just keep sticking to your nutrition goals, and you'll be fine!

I have been freaking out about weight gain. I gained 60 with my son, then kept gaining throughout the years. I gained about 30 with my daughter. I lost all of this weight last year and was so close to my goal weight! Now, I've gained 10lbs at 18weeks. Everything I've read has said that I should only gain 11-20lbs. It's hard to not think I'm a complete failure for this.
A big contributor to my gain is the fact that I stopped working and moved 250 miles to live with my fiance. He's not a big guy and eats sweets all of the time. Bleh!
Hovering around 200lbs is freaking me out.

hang in there girl! I totally understand how you feel. While I wouldn't use it as an excuse to overeat just remind yourself that you lost it once and you can lose it again....if it's not too cold out try to get some walks in, that way you at least know you are taking good care of your body :)

23 weeks up 26lbs, doc hasn't said anything and says my belly is the perfect size so I'm not too stressed out. I gained 10 last month and 6 this month, so hopefully the trend continues to decrease. I have my glucose test in a few weeks so I'm going to work on cutting back on candy and stuff in an effort not to end up with gestational diabetes

I'm new to this group, I have been a member of MFP for a couple of years and I have been tracking calories during pregnancy off and on. My last dr appointment I was told I have gained a total of 29lbs and I need to slow it down. I exercise 4 times a weeks and apparently that isn't enough to fight the crap I have been eating. I just decided to really keep a watch because I don't want to gain another 5-10lbs even though the Dr told me it is safe to do so. I started paying attention and I was more than doubling the sugar I should be getting, I'm 24 weeks and just had my glucose tolerance test, it looks like everything is good, no gestational diabetes, but I am really suprised I don't have it when look at back at what I have been eating. My belly is measuring where it should, but I think most of my weight gain has been in my legs and I don't think that is helping my baby girl out any. It is my first pregnancy and I'm very concerned about gaining anymore weight so I'm going back to a 1800 calorie diet or as close as I can get it and cutting my sugar drastically. Doesn't seem like anything I eat is the right choice, everything makes me feel bad in one way or another... but i still have to feed the baby so fingers crossed my weight gain slows.
