Challenge 1- No sweets/sugars

I'm in...I love...love...LOVE sweets so this will be a major challenge...but I'm going to do it...There are NO sweets in my house...no ice cream, no cookies, no candy...I hope I don't eat my pillow in my sleep!

I am in. I drink only 1 soda a day, if that sometimes.. My big downfall lately has been candy. During halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and into New Year's, everyone had candy and sweets at work. So no candy has been tough so far. Since 1Jan, I've decided no candy all month. I feel better already without all that in my system!0

yesterday i did good - except my dtr got me really frustrated so by the end of the night i let myself have 3 peppermint hershey kisses. - which is still awesome for me because i have the biggest sweet tooth and there are tons of temptations in this house.
today is going to be challenging because first i plan to donate blood and they always have the best cookies after. then i have a work meeting that typically involves doughnuts. then i will be running around all day so finding a good healthy meal on the run for me and my dtr will be its own challenge (and to not give in to the Mcdonalds drive thru)0 -
How are yall doing on this second day of NO SWEETS? Well im doin pretty ok, didnt think about my coffee this morning, unlike yesterday.... I have an apple here, so gonna munch on that a bit later. 5 more days to go...LETS DO THIS!0

I did pretty good on day one. My big thing is chocolate and candy so I'm proud to say I managed to stay away from those type of sweets.0

I'm on a low-carb diet - no sweets for me anyway! Unless you count the occasional post-workout apple.0

well I am drinking more water and green tea black, i have 1 can of coke zero a day! and I have a great shake every morning, I started Saturday and 3 days later Im down 5.2 lbs already, I watch what i eat, stay under 1400 a day, cut out alot of sugar, just natural sugars in fruit.0

Great to ready everyone's comments and how you guys are going.
Last night we went grocery shopping and it was quite an interesting experience. I never realised how many things you automatically reach for and pop into your trolley on a whim because you're so accustom picking them up. The hardest for me was definitely going down the buiscuit and chocolate aisles - sure I know you should pass them straight but the chocolate aisle is where they have the magazines (got to have my weekly gossip rag!!) and well my husband needed to go down to the biscuit aisle to stock up on rice crackers.
It's Wednesday, start of day three for me and I will continue keeping strong. What helps a lot -I'm in the exercise and water challenge and whenever my body is telling me to just run to the shop and get some chocolate I have a big swig of water instead!! Killing two challenges with one stone if I can say so :laugh:0 -
But.. egg nog!. .I have one quart left!. . lol.0

You don't need the egg nog - if it can stay for 4-5 more days, push it to the back of the fridge and then you can have something extra nice to look forward to at the end of the week. I've pushed a box of duncan hines brownie mix to the back of the cupboard and I'm just counting down the days until I can fall on it like a frenzied lion!! :laugh:0 -

A co-worker came to me and offered sugar covered almonds, so I politely said no but then she insisted.... I had to be really firm and it sounded kindof mean.... ooops. I don't want to tell them I am not eating sweets this week. How do I stay away from sweets without being mean to people????0

This happens to me alot. It seems like when I decide to cut foods for a certian time period or even limi my portions, thats when people start trying to shove it down my throat, even if I say no. Usually what I don't do is tell them I'm trying to cut back because then it beomes their personal challenge to get you to give in. I usually say thanks I'll have some later and then don't. If they are extra pushy I take it from them, kindly get out of sight and throw what ever it is in the trash. Better in the garbage than glued to my thighs..lol0 -

I am pleasantly suprised to learn that after monitoring my sugar intake today, that I really haven't been eating or craving sugar.0

Dy 2 went well again, stopped at the bakery to get a brownie, and while in the line i hear da vice say " you're not eating sweets" lol.... it slipped me for a few minutes... but i made it0

Peanut butter (I have this everyday) and honey were my downfall today.0

Said no to the Ghirdelli Chocolates that were in a bowl in front of me during and after a long meeting today --- a victory0

I visited the keeper of the chocolates today just to say 'hi'. I was NOT tempted!0

I said no to the Panera Chocolate chip cookies that were at work calling my name yesterday...BUT...today I forgot to bring my breakfast to work and ate an oatmeal cookie...SORRY YA ALL! I'm within my calories but lost the challenge BIG time! Good luck to the remainder of you!0

I'm thinking that as the days go by it's getting easier and easier to just say no and to avoid...somewhat like when you exercise - at first it seems as if you're going to die (or is that just me?) but as you get stronger it gets so much easier!!0

again late to this challenge. But hey, better late than never. I will follow the challenge for the remaining of the week. This should be easy as I do low carb (Dukan) anyways.0
