Hi, I'm Karen.
Started out with a goal of losing 30 lbs and I have lost 7 so far. So excited to keep going and get toned and in better shape. Quit smoking almost 9 months ago and I am feeling great!

Hi, I’m Di. I was looking for a group where I can get support and give support and where I can stay motivated.
I read some posts & decided to try this group: happy:
I joined GISFW (Get In Shape For Women) in April’2012 and learned much about nurtriton and goals and myself. I started MFP for logging food & exercise in May. I enjoy the rewards of meeting others who are on the journey to living a well life, and the support & knowedge MFP gives to one another.
I sprained my ankle late Spring and it was an up & down recovery for me, but appear to be back on track all around. I relearned what patience and persistence means. Many thanks to my MFP peeps for helping me stay the course.
Cheers to all for a healthy and happy 2013! :drinker:0 -
Hi! I'm Tammy. I'm 33, my goals are to lose a bit of fat, and gain some muscle. I've lost 11 pounds with MFP since last summer, I've been maintaining that over the last couple of months. I'd like to lose 5 more, plus gain some muscle over the next 50 days!
Lets do this!:drinker:0 -
I have lost 8 pds in 30 days, so my goal would be at least 14 pds.
I need to start eating healthy again-after the holiday. And, get back
to walking and treadmill at least 5 times a week for an hour. Also
to do some abd exercises.
I need to get this weight off! I'm so excited to have this chance to do this with other people.
It will be nice to help each other.0 -
I'm Kate I need an excuse to start shaking this weight off!!0

HI Everyone I joined this group yesterday and am ready for the challenge. I am Amanda, 57 years old am divorced and living in Florida with a platonic room mate. I am physically limited in what I can do for exercise as I am mostly wheelchair bound. Since this is a 50 day challenge (about 7 weeks) I will sent my goal for 15 pounds. I believe I should be able to get rid of at least 2 pounds a week. I will weigh in on Wednesday and post on that thread. Hope to get to know all of you especially those of you who are morbidly obese like myself.0

Hi All!
I'm new to the group and this will be my first 50 Day Challenge. I'm excited and looking forward to it!
I'm Pam, age 58 and live in Kentucky. I joined mfp on October 20, 2011 and weighed in at 290 pounds with a BMI of 51.4. As of today, I have lost 121 pounds and weigh 169 with a BMI of 29.9. Finally moved from the obese category to the overweight category. I am currently 24 pounds away from my original goal of 145. When I started seeing my nutritionist, she asked what my goal weight was and I really didnt know, so I said to cut my weight in half. When I reach that point, I may go for another 10 pounds as my nutritionist felt going lower than 135 would not be good for me. So on that part, we'll se
I have some physical limitations, such as double knee replacements and bulging back discs. During my first knee replacement in 2005, my doctor accidently broke my leg while doing the knee replacement. It required additional surgeries and a log time in physical therapy. During that year I gained 50 pounds and it was downhill after that. The second knee replacement was in 2011 and went perfectly. Did you know that for every pound you lose, you remove 4 pounds of pressure off your knees?????? So far I've removed 484 pounds of pressure.
I'll set my goal for 15 pounds even tho the weight loss has slowed down quite a bit these last few months.
I'll be starting tomorrow, January 1st, Wednesday in the US and Wednesday will be my weigh in day or is there a set schedule for weighing in that i havent seen yet?0 -
I lost 123lbs in 2012 and want to aim for at least 80 more this year.
Age: 36
Height: 5'6
CW: 252
GW 165
DW: 145
I am mother to an extremely energetic 4 year old son (who is my inspiration for losing weight). I work from home, so I spend a lot of time at the computer.
My exercise regime is a little on the lighter side, I walk 3 to 5 times a week and have started the C25K program.0 -
Hello everyone,
My name is John, I am 46, married with 4 children from ages 4 to 19. I have never really been that big (I say that but in reality I have about 50 pounds to lose). People say that I carry it well. Boy if I had nickel for every time I heard that.
My first goal is 20 pounds. That is what I am hoping to do in the first 50 days. My second goal is the next 20. That will put me at about 200 pounds. They (the BMI charts of the Gods) say I should weigh 189 but I will be happy with 200.
Happy New Year.0 -
What a great way to start the new year.
In the next fifty days I plan to:
1. Complete the challenges from this group
2. Run 2 to 3 times a week
3. Complete 2 training session at the gym a week (NROLFW)
4. Log, log, log
5. Encourage others along the way
6. Lose pounds or inches or both!0 -
Hi all,
My name is Zoe, I'm 33, Scottish, I started mfp last year got into a really good routine, ate healthy, had good excercise routine (dog walking, zumba, cycling and bodypump) and then I broke my arm and stopped the fitness classes, then I got married went on my honeymoon and got out of the trend of logging on. I went back to my first zumba class just before christmas and realised just how much I miss being fit and healthy, so I'm back starting to pick up my good habits again.
I never really took part in the forums before so I thought it might help to keep me on track, it's good to see everyone else progressing so well.
Feel free to add me as a friend :flowerforyou:
cheers :drinker:0 -
Hi everyone. I'm a 5'6" female. I joined MFP in mid-Oct with a starting weight of 198 lbs and I've lost 22 lbs (current weight 176). I would still like to lose about 40 lbs - goal weight 135 lbs. I've been eating between 1200-1500 calories per day and working out 5-6 days a week (mainly cardio). This week I am going to start incorporating strength training 2-3 days a week.
Please add me as a friend as I could use all the support I can get. I'm looking forward to being a fit and healthy person by the summer.0 -

Okay, introducing myself....

Hi! Kate here, 29, 5'5". I surprised myself with an all time high weight of 220 around Christmas. I've successfully lost 35 before but managed to put it all plus more back on due to depression, meds and bad habits. My first order of business is to get back under 200, where my knees won't hurt when I jog. 50 days sounds reasonable for that!
Doctor's orders are 185, but ultimately 165 is where I'd be happy to stay forever as it was my weight after HS and where I lost to before.0 -
Hey guys! Im Beth! Looking for motivation and willing to motivate!
I started out at: 190 lbs.
I'm currently: 180 lbs.
My goal weight for the challenge is: 172lbs
And my final goal weight is: 125lbs
I joined MFP a while ago but didn't actually get started until mid December.. THEREFORE, I haven't hit the "Plateau" everyone talks about. I'll definitely need motivation when that time comes because I typically give up when things get rough.
Well, glad everyone is making healthy choices! Goodluck to all!0 -
Hi There,
I love the energy in this group. I got off track over the last few months and need to press the reset button. I am 42 with 2 kids (5 &7) and work from home. I have a very busy schedule so my challenge is to make the time to exercise and most importantly to track what I eat and try hard to not mindlessly eat (e.g. munching on kids' food or eating snacks after dinner). I like to exercise and did an indoor small triathlon last year, which was fun.
I would love to lose 12 pounds in the next 50 days. Please feel free to friend me!0
