    I had a colorful childhood....was always getting into trouble and was quite the vagabond. I was known for being sent on errands to buy groceries and instead spending money on whatever I wanted and then not coming back until the following day.

    Snip

    To this day, I ask my mother why she did that...she says she didn't know what else to do. I can't see a can of Crisco nor a ladle without feeling a cold chill run up my spine.

    What... the *kitten*? O__________O;;;

    Is this real life?

    All my friends tell me I should write a book about my life....yes, this was my reality. I was 10 years old when this happened.

    I would read that book O_o;

    Closest I can even get to comparing is one time my mom was spanking me and she broke the spoon on my backside - I laughed (because I'm obnoxious and I laugh at everything) so she got p*ssed and grabbed the meat tenderizer. I ran and she chased me through the house until I found my dad and he talked her down.

    My mom is crazy but not crisco and sugar crazy.

    Zach.... I understand the ocean fear. I'm fascinated by the ocean yet scared to death of drowning (had a near death experience when I was young). The beach, or any body of water is my source of peace though. I find it calming to watch the waves come in and could sit there for hours. I've gotten better with boats as the years go by, but if I could be anywhere in the world, it would be the beach. :)

    I hate my job. Because of my job I think I'm going to have my tubes tied.

    I now have 3 cats instead of 2.5... We've decided to keep Satan.

    I also wanted to share that today I leg pressed over 300 lbs. I blacked out for a second after my 2nd set, but I was DAMN PROUD.

    Awesome work!:drinker:

    I dunno about that. From about 7 years old to 18 I had a rotten relationship with my mother. It wasn't until I moved out and we developed a more adult bond that we've started getting along quite well. It also helps that I confronted her when I was 21 about how her parenting caused all these issues that I struggle with to this day, but that I forgive her because in the end I know she really didn't know what to make of me.

    I was 12 years old, we used to take a greyhound bus to go see my grandmomma who lived an hour away. I had a habit of sticking my head out the window. Mom would always tell me that one day my head was going to stay stuck.

    Sure enough, that day came. Slipped my head out and when attempting to put my head back in, my ears would block me from popping back in. My mom said I told you so. After letting me suffer for a few seconds (but what seemed like an eternity back then), she tried to slide the window wider. Nothing, no budge. An amused passenger jumped in to help....nothing. Words gets up to the driver, he pulls over...nothing. I'm stuck...like Winnie The Pooh.

    I rode the rest of the way back to the terminal, where I waited until the maintenance folks got off their lunch break. A crowd formed...I felt like one of those people stuck in a mining hole that had collapsed. The entire window had to be taken off...appluase...cheering.

    Along with Crisco, Ladles, and Sugar...I have a strong aversion to Greyhound buses.

    Maybe Crisco could have helped with that window ;)

    My mother is a sociopath... And no I'm not being mean.... If children went through today what she did to me in the 80's and 90's the news would be everywhere. But we were all so terrified of her that we always denied everything to everyone...

    I was in the 6 or 7th grade and I have really curly hair.... My mom was brushing my hair and got mad cause it was tangled so she turned the wood brush over and started hitting me in the head with the solid part...... The libarian at school wanted to know what happened to the back of my hea cause I was bleeding she took me to the school consolur and tried to get me to say something about my mother....The women told me I was the devils spawn among various other things...

    Needless to say we don't speak.......Oh and I was a good kid... All A's and B's and rarely every did I get into trouble

    Jeez! Kits & Jen, I'm sorry your Mother's were less than amazing! :flowerforyou:

    I always try and refrain from using the word 'all' as generalising is stooopid! ! ! :embarassed: So, I should have said 'most' but specifically, meant SV's and mine.
