Hi! I've been overweight for the last 18 years. I'm tired. Having a hard time losing weight even though I eat below my calories (most days) and I'm exercising more but the scale will not move. As Dr. Phil says 'Hows that working for you ?" We'll it's not!! I think the shred may help.

Ladies please add me and keep me accountable..fuss at me, send me messages, post something about me not participating..ANYTHING to hold me accountable!!!!!

    Thanks for your support!

I have been overweight forever and it is time to be healthy and happy, I also have to be a better role model for my children. I have started 30ds 3 times and keep quitting and I enjoyed it and don't know why I stopped. I really need to start and finish it. I agree with MsAnn07 I need to be held accountable and probably nagged but I will never complain. We can do this if we stick together.

    Hey guys :)

I am trying to tone up and for once in my life feel comfortable in my own skin :) I am not "overweight" but I am flabby. And the fact that I am not comfortable with my body is the reason I'm here.

My height is 5'3 and weight 152.9 pounds. My goal is to be at 130.

I am currently doing the 30 day shred, and am on level 2. I made it through the first level no problem--(although the first 3 days I was SO sore). IT GETS EASIER! My knee can't take level 2, but I am going to push through level 1 again during what should be my level 2. Level 2 is super hard so I am doing a mix of level one and as much of level 2 as I can get through.

I look forward to updates from everyone. It makes a HUGE difference having a group that has the same end goal that you can check in with and get some motivation from :) AND it's nice to have a page for results so you don't have to search around for them :)

If I can give a little bit of advice--
I use 3 lb weights for most of the exercises, but for the chest flys you will want something a bit heavier. I use 5 lbs and find them to be just enough and will look at using 7 lbs. Anything smaller for the chest flys just doesn't feel like you're getting the benefits from them.

Hi there I am Vikki, I did the shred for 30 days straight in January and had awesome results..I used a group just like this to check in everyday.. I plan on starting over with level 1 Monday the 8th.....

Hi! I'm Andrea, and i'm SO glad i found this group! I am starting the 30 day shred tomorrow, and to say the least i'm nervous! I am horrible for keeping on track with things, but i'm hoping if I have other people doing it with me, and hopefully giving me hell for not doing it when I should, that i'll keep more on track.
My goal is to do Shred every morning, Zumba every night ( or every other night, depending on my pain level as I have a back injury that tends to act up ) but a minimum of 3 times a week at least. I have big goals, but big goals mean big results, and I hope to be comfortable with my body by my vacation in the summer!
  • Hi all!! I'm so glad I found this group! I started the 30 Day Shred by accident today, while Googling Jillian Michaels and looking for some Youtube videos to work out with. I'm listening to her audio book, Slim for Life - (http://www.amazon.ca/Slim-Life-Insider-Secrets-Lasting/dp/038534922X) and it is motivating me. It's hard to eat chips on your couch while listening to a super fit person talk at you, ha!

I'm not overweight, just a bit flabby in the belly region and feeling very lethargic after a loooong winter of "hibernation". I'm looking to tone up for the summer and just feel better!

My starting weight was 148 but I've lost about 5lbs "offline" in the last few weeks, so I'm at 143 and now I want to get down to ~130. I don't have any measurements but now I think I better get a cloth tape measure so I can keep track of my progress! Some of you guys seem to have this down to a science!

I'd be interested to listen to Jillian Michaels audiobook. I feel like she'd have a very no-nonsense approach, which I like.

Glad you guys have joined the party!

Hey, I'm Taylor :) I started the 30DS a couple of days ago, today will be my 4th day. It's nice to have other people to talk about exercise as it helps keep me on track, luckily I have a friend I'm doing it with which really helps :)

Hi, I'm Julia. I'm starting 30DS today. I have tried in the past, but have never completed the entire 30 days. With summer approaching I feel like I should give it another try!
  • Hi, I'm Charlotte :) I'm the friend that TayaCurragh mentioned who is doing the 30DS with her :) As such, I'm also on the 4th day :) Finding it tough, but looking forward to seeing results!

Hi! i'm Katie. I'm not overweight, but I am not toned at all and am very out of shape for myself.
I'm a former athlete who has gained 30 pounds due to a foot injury, law school, and the bar exam. I've lost 14 pounds over the past 3.5 months through mostly diet, now i am looking to add some lean muscle mass and see where that takes me :)
I also miss running soooooooo bad, and have been unable to do so for a year and a half. I am slowly working back into it.

    CW-140
GW-125 (or 130 if I looked super toned at that point and fit back into my pre-injury clothes)

    Chest-36
    Waste-30
    Hips-39.5
    thighs-22

I'm actually hoping this DVD helps me get in shape for some summer hiking as well. I have a friend who is getting into mountaineering and I'd love to be able to hold my own if I went with her.

I just decided today that I am going to start the 30DS tomorrow. I am motivated to get moving but it is spring and rainy and I have not had much luck getting outside to walk/jog/bicycle. I am going to do this! I am nervous because I know it is going to be hard but after I get through these 30 days, I will have so much confidence and that will keep me going.

Hi everyone my name is Bri! Luckily for me I started this yesterday, so I was excited to find this group! I gained 50 lbs since I was 17 due to my hypothyroidism. Its been hard but I'm starting to manage it. Unfortunatly today I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, but my doctor told me exercise is best for it. I decided to do a yoga video after 30 day shred, so help tone and stretch my muscles more. I will be 20 may 8th so I'm ready to kick butt with this! Good luck everyone!

Hi everyone - I'm Kathy from Euharlee, GA -
    48 yrs old
    5'7
199.5 lbs (have lost 36 pounds thus far)
Goal weight - probably between 155-170 - just have to wait and see how I feel when I get close
Started the 30 DS on my 48th birthday - April 4 - doing it Monday - Friday - not on weekends - because I don't want an audience and i feel the whole house shakes when I do jumping jacks) - so I have done it four days thus far -
I did not take measurements - that frightens me - but I did take a couple of before pictures - will be interesting to see if there is a difference

    WE GOT THIS PEOPLE!

    Hi everyone,
I'm Corinne and I started shreddin' yesterday! Well, actually tried it the day before and quickly got overwhelmed, sat down and watched it. At least I was drinking water. LOL
I was going to just try doing the first segment and work into doing the whole thing but I found once I got past the pushup part..I just kept going and finished! Very proud of myself.
I find it's a great workout, for me, as I can't get to the gym right now. I like that it is short, you don't need a lot of room/equipment. Once I get through the 30days, I think I will continue using it for strength training and add in some cardio....
As much sweating as I was doing, I'm surprised that we don't burn more calories, but, as long as I see some results it's all good!
Would love to finally be able to do a pushup!!
    Good luck everyone!!

Hi. I did Level 1 day 3 this morning. Just found this group and am interested in what results we get.
I tried it a few years back and I didn't lose weight, but noticed a welcome shape change after about 7 days...then had to stop a few days later. This time I will complete.
I'm less interested in weight loss than toning and strengthening. If I can get into my size 12 (uk) uniqlo trousers at the end of this, then I'll have reached my next goal.
Best of luck all, stick with it!

My name is Kelly. I have steadily gained weight since I started to date my boyfriend, 35 pounds in the past 3 and a half years!! He has a fantastic metabolism and has stayed the same weight since the day we met. I really want to get back into shape. I feel like I should be so much healthier then I am at 25. I have tried several times to do the 30ds and always wind up giving up. (never made it past level 1) I started doing it yesterday, so a few days behind. I'm really hoping that with a group it will help keep me accountable to actually make it through all 30 days!

    Hi all.
I'm living in IL. Born and raised in Ohio. My husband is an active duty Marine, hes been in close to 9 years...
Im a mom to 1 gorgeous 4.5 year old.

This weight gain has literally changed my entire personaility. I do not go out anymore, I do not get dressed up, unless for work.... I literally find ways to hide.

I started this in the mornings when my husband is at the gym because I dont want him to know. It's bad enough I've gained weight and depressed about it....but he makes things worse with the comments he makes (which he doesnt know are "bad/mean" its the marine in him.

We are planning our first REAL family vacation (besides visiting him in Japan in 2011---when I was 135lbs) I'm huge, I hate taking pictures with myself in them and we are goingt o FL in June to Disney. I'm going to want to be in those for my daughter to look back on....but not looking at this.

My goal is to be at 150-145. My REAL goal is 135.
I would be happy fitting back into my size 8 clothes again even if I was 160.

I know I cant lose a ton of weight in 8 weeks...but i sure as hell can tone up and LOOK better.

Hey everyone! I'm Ali :) I was weighed at the doctor two weeks ago and was 196.6, but I haven't weighed myself since (probably gained weight since then) since I went back to school (I'm a freshman in college) and don't have a scale here. Two years ago, I had gotten up to 187 at one point and was fed up with it, so I lost 40+ pounds and ended up at 146, with still maybe like ten pounds to lose, but then gained it all back because of stress eating and family issues and college cafeteria food. I am just too annoyed with being so large now that I HAVE to do something about it. I already know I'm going to have trouble sticking to the 30DS because I have a lot going on in my life right now. I know I'm going to have to skip days, but I'm really hoping that this group will help me stick to it and get back even if I skip a day! I really want to get back in shape because, when I lost 40 pounds two years ago, I was in great shape and it was fantastic and I miss that

Keep in mind the muscle we are building means that we are burning more calories at a resting rate, so it adds up
