Hi I'm new to the group too. I am 39 years old, have been overweight my entire life and have tried every program and yo-yoed since I was about 17. I quit smoking 5/1/12 after 17 years and didn't want to stroke out and die, or miss out on the fun things my size has prevented me from doing, so here I am. It has been working slowly but surely. This is a very long term project. Just last week I graduated from "Extremely morbidly obese" to "morbidly obese." Woo hoo!

tubbytot: Hey, I hope you have a speedy recovery, and welcome to the group! I just started to as well, and I am at 1700 cals/day. I originally tried 1460 but it didn't work out for me, just starting out. I moved to 1700 and have lost almost 6 lbs. I'll give this a week or two and move myself down, little-by-little.

Hello from Argentina! Here we are in a very cold winter, so it will be a winter challenge for me Very excited of this challenge, feeling pretty lonely on this journey...If I will not lose weight by my own, I am headed for a Gastric Bypass...sad.
I have a lot of health problems. like INSULIN RESISTANCE, HASHIMOTO DISEASE (HYPOTHYROIDISM), very bad Arthrosis in my back, etc. It's very hard for me to lose weight but slowly I am doing it...so, I don't think I will lose 10 pounds in a month, but I will do my best!!!
