I do mostly AIP but some butter and cheese slips in there and doesn't seem to effect me. I am allergic to soy, gluten and nightshades. I am currently off nuts. I am not sure that I have to be, but they can be a trigger food. I can eat cup fulls at a time. I am also managing my calories, which I find really easy to do with none of the above.

New to the paleo way of thinking. Start tomorrow after several days research and getting myself ready for it.

This is so helpful! Several items there I hadn't thought of.

I just started Paleo but here is my list:

    1. Eggs
    2. Skinless Boneless Chicken Breasts
    3. Ground Beef
    4. Turkey patties (I eat these for breakfast)
    5. Broccoli (although I eat a lot of Baby Carrots too...couldn't decide which to put here..)
    6. Apples / Applesauce (I buy organic apples since they are on the dirty dozen)
    7. Bananas (I like to eat mine in frozen chunks for dessert)
    8. Homemade Paleo Mayo / Ranch Dressing (I like the recipe from Well Fed using lemon)
    9. Romaine Lettuce
    10. Salsa
  • 1. Chicken
    2. Eggs
    3. Berries
    4. Bell peppers
    5. Spinach
    6. Tomatoes
    7. Sweet potatoes
    8. Broccoli
    9. Avocado
    10. Fish

I don't eat strict paleo or primal. If I REALLY want a cookie or frozen yogurt, I have it...but limit it to once or twice a week. I eat a LOT of vegetables and fruits, but try to avoid starches and enjoy high carb fruits like peaches and mangoes as more of treat, like 2-3 servings a week. I also go for bacon and red meat if I feel like treating myself to a hearty meal, and the only dairy I really eat is cheese on occasion and light sour cream if I'm going for mexican food or making a spanish influenced salad dressing.
