    Welcome jadegrrl!

You have set very safe and sensible targets. A modest calorie deficit and a little bit of activity and you are going to THRILL yourself with the results this month!

    Good luck.

Hello! I am posting new goals for September. My kick start has slowed to the realistic "I have to live this way for the rest of my life" mode and Dan is right about 5 pounds per week being aggressive. I can do this one baby step at a time.

I am going to weigh on Saturday mornings.

    SW:355
    CW:329
    GW 320 end of September.

That is 3 pounds per week. I know I can do that. :D
Thanks for having my back Dan(dward) and everyone else too.

Eat just a little bit less of more better food. Move a little more than the day before. Repeat.

Gentle change over the long haul will yield slower results that last longer.

Harsh regimes, strict discipline, and a one-track training mindset might seem like a good idea for the first week or so--and if you are already an elite athlete, looking to up an already impressive game, could be just the ticket. But those sorts of plans are undertaken with specific objectives and a clearly marked end point.

Trying to adopt an Olympic level of commitment as a weight loss lifestyle is going to lead to frustration and failure, eventually.

Nothing wrong with trying it on as an experiment. But to do so brings you close to the realm of "dieting" and we don't diet here.

We are changing how we live, not just trying to slim down for the holidays. (Though, we ARE gonna rock the holiday fashions this year, are we not?)

Everybody take good care of themselves.

    Eat. Hydrate. Move. Sleep. Repeat.

    All things in balance.

Late? Late?! No such thing as too late 'round here!

The numbers look right on time and right on target for long term success!

    Go you!

    Congrats on the loss Lous!

BTL, I'm glad you have backed off on the 2500 calorie deficit per day. That really did have me concerned, but I'm not your overseer. Still I celebrate your initiative. Just as Mark said though, slow and steady will win this race. (Something I have to keep telling myself too.)

Mark, I plan on rocking the Santa suit this year. Next year is when I hope to be too low to be picked as a viable suit filler!

Dan--it's not the gut that makes a good Santa, it's the ho ho ho's.

So...next year, maybe something more along this line:

(I'm ignoring Mark's message to me. I grew UP in the 70's, that suit is rad!)

    September SW: 324.8 lb
    September GW: 314 lb

    Weigh-ins:
    Week 1: 09/02/2013 - 324.4 lb
    Week 2: 09/10/2013 - 321.6 lb
    Week 3: 09/18/2013 - ?
    Week 4: 09/25/2013 - ?
    Final: 10/01/2013 - ?

Decided to shift my weekly weigh-ins from Mondays to Wednesdays. The volatility from the weekend is usually settled down by then. Also, since I don't normally lift on Tuesday nights, the water-retention factor from healing muscles should not be an issue.

The only reason I weighed in today was because I didn't want to go too long without an update. Great to see all the successes this week! September is going to be a GREAT month.
  • Great job! I love to see all the successful weigh ins start to roll through!
