    texasgardnr thanks for the info.

Today two very sad things happened   . A family member has been struggling with cancer for a while now. The doctors said today that they have tried everything, and that there is nothing more to do. It seems so unreal. The other thing is that my old sickness, the one I've been living with so many years showed the symptoms to come back again. Well that is what it means that life happens. That's when you loose all the energy and give in to food. I've forced myself to walk 8.5 km today (5 miles) but it was an effort. I don't know how it will go with food today, it feels that I don't really care.
  • Good Afternoon Y'All... Walked my 3 mile Leslie again 2day... WOOO the STRESS I walked off... also walked 2.17 miles during my shift at work 2day.... HOPE it's a WONDERFUL day 4 ALL of YA

This month I'm doing a combo of these throughout the month:

Leslie Sansone 3 Mile Radio Remixes Walk to the Hits

1-3 miles on the Treadmill at Gym

SuppleMomma, you are awesome! I've seen you here a lot-you are a walking machine. Great inspiration to do this!

@ lidenalex, I am sorry to read about your family member who has been struggling with cancer has received unsetting news from their doctor. And also reading that symptoms seem to be coming back again from an illness that you have been living with for a long time.
I do not have adequate words to respond with to what has been happening in your life recently. I am truly sorry about the situations.

I’m glad that you forced yourself to walk today! That is awesome. I hope that the remainder of the day went well with your food intake and how you responded, food wise, to the stress. If it was not so good, please do not give up, but have a start over in the morning. And please keep walking no matter what goes on in your life, and keep coming back to post your walks.

    Blessings and prayers,
    texasgardnr.

Awe thank you Texasgardnr. I had a very "close" relationship with Collage Video after I discovered Leslie in Jan '13. I ended up with a fairly nice selection of Leslie's DVDs. It was that horrible cold that did me in when it came to walking though. I am much more sympathetic now when people post that they have not worked out because they were sick! :blushing: Thank you for the support you give to all of us. :flowerforyou:

So happy to be here! Just finished "5 fat burning miles" used the #2 weight for most of it. My best to all you walk/runners out there- each of you are an inspiration putting one foot in front of the other. A great day to spend a rainy day here.
I see we have some readers here. I had run across an interview with the author of "Mini Habits" by Stephen Guise that motivated me. (I love anything that kickstarts this ole brain)

Thanks Texasgardnr and Crystal_LDee. We all have our crosses to bear. But healthy eating and mild exercise will not make those crosses heavier, but lighter, that's why we have to continue. Walked today for 8.6 km (5 miles) listening to

Title: The War of Art, by Steven Pressfield

Excerpt: Have you ever brought home a treadmill and let it gather dust in the attic? Ever quit a diet, a course of yoga, a meditation practice? Have you ever bailed out on a call to embark upon a spiritual practice, dedicate yourself to a humanitarian calling, commit your life to the service of others? Have you ever wanted to be a mother, a doctor, an advocate for the weak and helpless; to run for office, crusade for the planet, campaign for world peace, or to preserve the environment? Then you know what Resistance is.

Review: Most of us are not even aware of that resistance is there. So when we quit we don't even know what hit us. But Pressfield exposes resistance, and tells us how to combat it. A great book.
