    Hey Everyone!

First of all, I love this idea! I hope I can find some good motivation here. I've never done WW, but always wanted to go to the meetings, so this may work out great!

My name is Jocelyn. I currently live in CA, but am moving to VA in a month. I have a 1 year old and have been a stay-at-home mom since I was pregnant (I am a teacher, so I just took off the half year before having my daughter to keep things easy). Before I got pregnant, I lost 30 lbs and got to my goal weight. I was hoping this would keep me from gaining too much during pregnancy, but it backfired. I gained 65 lbs during pregnancy. Basically, I look at it as if I gained back everything I lost, plus the baby weight. I still weigh the same as I did when I went to the hospital to give birth (about 215).

My goal is to have a healthy BMI and get back into a size 12. I'm currently a size 18. I have a short-term goal to get to a size 16 before I have to buy work clothes to go back to work in August.

I hope to help you all in your journey's as you help me!!

    Jocelyn

OK.. My name is Lauren, I'm 27 and live in Virginia. I have 2 kids ages 3 and 5. I was never over weight. I was actually below a healthy BMI, but then life happened. 2009 I had my daughter and I had gained 65 lbs during my pregnancy, I only managed to lose 30 of it. Then 2 years later I had my son and I only gained 35 lbs. But When there father passed away ( heart failure at 35 yrs old) I gained 100 lbs in the course of a couple years. He passed in 2011.. I had no one to talk to and I pretty much just ate away my emotions. and now I don't really know how to stop. I've never had to work out or watch what I eat, I was just naturally skinny. So now I don't really know what to do.. or have much motivation to do it... Yes I know my kids should be enough motivation, but sometimes it seems easier said then done. I really hope to over come these obstacles and make a positive change in my life! I want to be there for my kids.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss! I'm also 27 and will be moving back to VA soon (lived there my whole life until I got married). I hope we can keep each other motivated, because I also lack motivation!

Thank you! I definitely need the motivation. Its hard when you have no one to talk to that can relate or care about it..

So sorry about your loss, too, Lauren.

I just wanted to add that, since I'm in Germany and 9am EST is 3pm for me, I may not always make it. I often do stuff on Saturday afternoons and may not be online. But I'll try to check in with you guys whenever I can and otherwise just read and post later. :)

Hi, I'm Karen, 36 from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia :)

I started my journey at 370 pounds (or 168.2kg) after a Diabetes Type II diagnosis in Feb 2014. So this is week 16 and I have lost 36 pounds (or 16.4kg, hopefully more after tomorrow's weigh in)

I suffer with Fibromyalgia (diagnosed in Jan 14) and 24/7 Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo, in other words I have been dizzy for 3.5 years! I am now housebound due to this condition and can no longer work or drive. It makes exercising hard but I manage most days to push out 30 mins on the stationary bike or do 10,000 steps (while holding onto walls inside my house)

I try not to let my illness rule my life as best I can. I am a glass half full person where I can be, even when it annoys others and I don't often complain to those around me about how bad I truly feel.

I have managed so far to get my blood work back to prediabetic stage, so things are definitely moving in the right direction but a long way to go.

Hi everyone, thanks for the invite!

I am Dawn -- 44 this year. Married 21 years, two boys, 20 and 15. I work as a VP Marketing for a software company. Desk jobs for the last 20 years, coupled with being married to a 6' non-stop eating machine (I'm an adaptive personality) have combined to get me to 230lbs.

Not being a natural athlete (I'm not one for sweating, ew), I've been trying for months to lower my calorie intake because well, basic math. But because I'm also perimenopausal, I can't seem to drop any weight. It's all bloating and water weight so far, which I shed during my sporadic TOM. Sodium is an issue for me too.

I am 5'4" but also solidly built. I'd love to be 130, but I can't visualize it. 180 is my long term goal right now.

I also binge eat potato chips -- they are my kryptonite.

My fitbit comes tomorrow, so I can't wait to see what my REAL numbers are, calorie expending-wise. Glad to meet you all!

Hello everyone! I'm Brytnie, I'm 22 years old and I'm currently 294lbs, I started at around 320! My goal is to be 140lbs so I have a lot to lose!
I've been using MFP and it's been a big help in adjusting my eating habits. Ever since I was small I've always been a bigger girl.

I've started to eat 10x better. I love raw foods compared to frozen and canned. Once you start eating raw you can definitely see a change in your body and mood!
When I started MFP I also started C25K and yoga (I love hatha yoga!!) and doing bodyweight exercises! I hope this pays off!
If anyone would like to add me, fee free! I love making friends and reading others diaries!

Hey y'all! I'm Karen, age 53, from Pensacola, Florida. I am married (12 years) to a wonderful guy, Mike -- we have two wonderful boys ages 7 & 8. I also have an older son, age 30 & his wife and my first grandchild, age 2, plus a daughter age 26. I have a really really busy life - and I have put off losing this 100 pounds for a lot longer than I care to admit. I work full time and I'm a part-time college student, so my life is on the run a lot. I've been trying to cook healthier and eat healthier. At one point I joined WW, but I just don't have time to convert calories to points - so I dropped the membership and picked back up with mfp. The title of this group appealed to me so thanks for letting me join. I'll do my best to be at the meetings - since I'm in central time zone we are usually having coffee around that time and not out and about yet.

I've been over weight since my 30s -- I watched it slowly creep up into the 200's but being an emotional eater in a bad marriage, I didn't have the strength to put on the brakes. I know what to do - I just have to set my mind to it. According to health standards I probably should weigh around 150 - but I am shooting for 190. I need something that I can maintain and I seriously doubt I could easily maintain 150 ever. I'd liked to be a size 16.

My name is Kyle. I'm 42 years old and a stay at home mom in indianapolis. Before that, I worked in a public library with teenagers. I have a three year old daughter. I'm a scifi fantasy geek and play lots of computer games.

I have been thin all my life until recently. I stared gaining weight when I moved from San Francisco to the Midwest. I owned no car and frequently walked instead of riding the Muni cars because I was too impatient to wait for a bus. So first I cut out walking. Then I gradually took more and more sedentary jobs and anti depressants. Finally, when I quit working and nursing my daughter, I took a new drug famous for weight gain. I shot up to over 240 pounds at 5 ft 3 inches.

I'm having good results on mfp. I may even cancel my appt for non surgical bariatric weight loss program I signed up for a few months back. I also got a fitbit that really highlights how little I move around in my everyday life these days.
