Well done and welcome! You'll get even more cheers if you announce this in the daily check-in thread, too :) It's for members at all stages of the programme.

You can all do this. I'm looking forward to hearing your progress and being here to encourage you all.
I was not a runner but C25K changed that. Two years after graduating, I'm still running and enjoying it.
If I can do it, it can be done. You will also all be runners.

Go slow. Don't worry about your times, because this isn't going to be an eight week thing if you finish. Go as slow as you need to , but just make sure you run the time for that day. That's how I got through it on my third try, and if I can do it everyone else can too.

Well said. The secret key to success in C25K is to keep the pace slow.
While running, speak a short sentence aloud. If you huff, puff, pant your way through the sentence, you're running too fast; slow down.
You'll feel as if you're going "too slow" but you're not; that's the right pace. We all start out thinking we have to "run hard" and that leads to us giving up. Trust yourself and the program by running as slow as you need to. Speed will come by itself in time.

I done it! :D Well half of it. I forgot my inhaler so after the 4th jogging section I was dying so decided to walk the rest of the time rather than give up completely!!
  • Nailed D2W1 legs were heavy so I'm having a rest day before going for day 3, might try just a swim tomorrow how everyone else managing???

Each day you run makes it easier to run the next time. Make it part of your regular routine.
  • I started today with 1 km, my legs are strange now, but was very good !!!

Are you running consecutive days? You should start with a rest day between each training session to give your muscles a chance to heal and rest.
    Well done on your run!

You should find that your need for an inhaler reduces as your fitness improves.

The C25K plan is designed for alternate days, to give your joints and soft tissues an opportunity to recover.

Running every day as a newbie is a fast route to injury.
  • D3 W1 nailed bit harder as I did it on the road, its in the bag and feeling great. Day off the morrow so in Scotland its traditional to party so glasses up and have a happy new year

Hi, I take it you didn't notice the group name? :) Couch-to-5K with K meaning km, kilometre.

I completed W2D1 Saturday. Started to struggle a little bit on the last run especially the last 30 seconds, but I dropped my speed down and managed to do it. Bit scared to do it again today. If I don't feel comfortable enough to move onto W3, I'll repeat W2 again.
  • Just completed W2D2 felt good and it was like I could have went on for a while after the final run, rest day tomorrow and I'll get W2 bagged on Wednesday

I'm like you yoshi while I breezed day2 w2.... today's run d3 wasn't so easy I think I'll repeat d3 before moving on to W3 mind you I did increase my pace up for the running sections from 9km/hr to 10km/hr which I know you probably shouldn't do and that's what was wrong, I think your meant to be able to talk during the running section lol there was no chance that was happening and I was blowing out my behind by the end of the run.......I'll repeat D3 on Friday at a slower pace.

I slowed mine down a lot today. Didn't do too bad. I'm going to attempt W3D1 on Friday, if I struggle I'll repeat W2. Got a feeling I'll be repeating though.

Just slow down and push through it. Keep telling yourself you can do it, and you will!
  • Did W3D1 slowed my pace down on the 3min run sections from 10 km /hr to 8 km/hr it really helped and I felt I handled the session comfortably, I was a bit worried before I started due to the run time doubling but now its done there's nothing to fear just adjust your pace down bit.......delighted and looking forward to D2W3 on Sunday.......Have you done your run Yoshi how did it go?

Did mine this evening. It was a lot easier than I expected; plus the 3 minute runs went really quickly! Looking forward to doing W3D2. I slowed mine down bit again as I realised I started struggling a little bit at the beginning.
