My daughter gave me a fitbit charge yesterday, cycled to work today. It says I climbed 18 floors. That could be a bit wrong.0

Just bought my fitbit charge. My user name is MoniLove00. I feel that the calories burned it totally off. How can I burn 800 calories in 15 minutes of a low intensity workout?? I'm kind of disappointed. Does anyone agree??0

Same here, I've been wearing mine three days and constantly looking at the stats etc, especially my sleep pattern, didn't realise how restless I was in the night!

Are you logging activity on the fitbit website app or my fitness pal or both? I've decided I'm not going to log anything about exercise anywhere, and just let the fitbit detect and record it automatically, because I find if I manually log it somewhere myself, then it doubles up and gets confused. Do you think this might've happened for you?0 -

it is probably counting the calories you burned since midnight. It calculates your calories burned based on your weight. You probably burn around 1800-2500 calories per day being sedentary depending on your current weight. Exercising amps up those numbers.0 -
just bought a charge today. Yay!!!0

I desperately needed my fitbit, I work a "sitting-job" so if I don't do the extra effort I don't even get to 2000 steps... terrible I know. But I do have dogs so this excludes dog walks
Now with the fitbit I push myself to get the 10000 steps a day and I have almost every day.
I do log my excercise with other apps aswell, but I thought (at least it seemed that way) that the fitbit then just removes its own info and replaces it by the info from the external app. Not sure if it's true. Don't really care even, for me it was most important to just start moving more often. I would become bigger very soon if I didn't (terrible eating habbits, almost no activity) I needed someone or something to let me see just how bad I was doing so even if the steps aren't always accurate: I'm seeing improvement in the amount of time I am active and I eat less "bad" food.
Next part is: the number on scale should change soon...
