Ketostix are no longer working, which means I've finally hit that beloved state of full nutritional ketosis. It only took five months.... LOL
The website now has two colors, blue and red, both with their own reporting and customization to your favorite method, so I'm wondering how the new computer sync works. Anyone buy one in the last few weeks?

I have a less than a year old Sport model. But I see they upgraded. I am tempted to get one, even though mine works perfectly. The new one can sync with the computer and track/graph. I like having the latest.

Thanks again Dan! I have the last one in college, and I have to be careful about expenses right now. I know the cost is far less than blood meters over the long term, but the upfront investment is making me second guess. If you find it a good investment, I'll take the plunge.

ldmoor, what are you looking to gain in having a meter? Would it change the way you eat?
Are you looking at finding the upper limit of the amount of carbs you can consume and still remain in ketosis?0 -
I'm technically a diabetic Kirkor, so I want to know if I'm staying in nutritional ketosis or not. My levels have been in the normal range for the last year, but I want to stay on top of it, and its one of the reasons I chose ketogenic to start with. I will probably only be testing a couple times a week, but with severe insulin resistance, I can jump out of ketosis with 5 carbs sometimes. The only way to know for sure my plan is keeping me there is to get the numbers.0

Roger that!
(you should ask Dan to buy his other meter since he bought the newest one )0 -
He sent me a pm about that, and I'll be anxiously awaiting his feedback. My husband is not convinced I need it, but I track a lot of variables and try new things, so I think it would be a great tool, but the recent changes to the unit made me hesitate.

The new one works OK, if you set it right. You have to set it with a program that you download. At first it wouldn't agree with my old one. It would always say you were only "lightly" in ketosis, even after I fasted for two days. Apparently I had it set for the "sport" setting, which was for athletes, and they get into producing ketones much more than a normal person.
So I went back and forth the the owners of the product until I got it set right. (too long to explain here)
It works fine now.
