This is a new group who would like to join me in doing a new cycle of C25K (Couch to 5K). I used this program a couple of years ago with great success! It's a walk/run program. Week 1 entails 2 minutes of walking with 1 minute of "running," 3 times per week. I do it on M/W/F! I prefer to do it on a treadmill so that I can use the "crappy weather" excuse. You can download this 8-week "course" at www.c25k.com. It is totally free. You plug in your headset and run the program through your phone. Join me!

I too have done this before, Jan of 2013. I was NEVER a runner and I almost completed week 9. I ended up having to have surgery and was out of exercise for nearly 3 months. I had lost nearly 40lbs doing C25K and I have since gained it all back.
I wont be able to start until sometime Saturday afternoon, but I'm ready to start again. I desperately need to get the weight off.

Sherri, so glad you are recovered from surgery and ready to get going again. I will be doing W1, D3 on Saturday, but the beautiful thing is that you can start anytime.
Please let us know how it feels to be back on the program after you start! Like you, I lost weight (50 lbs) last time around and I am hoping to do the same. I feel so athletic when I am doing the program, even though I am wogging (walking/jogging) slower than a snail's pace. Women, we can ROAR!0 -

There are quite a few apps that help you do C25K. You can also download the podcasts for free from the NHS.
I'm using the Zen Labs app on my iPhone 6. It lets you do it in silence (with the voice prompts) or listen to your own music library.
I use my phone in a Belkin phone holder on my arm without headphones (headphones annoy me) and without music.
I bet there are many different ways to do the same program!0 -
Hello everyone, another new member!
I use the Zen Labs app on my iPhone 6 as well, but I hold it in my hand (so I can check how many seconds are left ) and I listen to music, with headphones. I probably need to get some better running gear, like a good jacket or something. My current zip up top isn't great, but it's all I have for now.0 -

I also use the Zen Labs app and I really like it! It's changed from the first time I used it and I like that you can unlock different skins.Hello everyone, another new member!

Hello, welcome! You should get a new jacket once you reach a certain point in the program as a reward! I'm getting a new pair of running shoes once I've been doing the program for 5 weeks. Only a couple more to go!

Same here. Don't want to hear myself huffing and puffing! I occasionally check I'm not making too much noise, though. Don't want to scare the dog walkers0 -

Read the first link in that thread, and that thread itself. So good!0 -
