Good hike in the hills with friends today. Shared macaroons after. Hope you all are well and having fun.
Paula0 -
I'm going to post here because Paula did...even if it's still the 11th at 7:45 in the evening!!!
Good job on the hiking, Paula!! I can only eat about one macaroon...too sweet for me. Although I can eat an ton of you-know-what-kind of candy bars. Go figure.
Walked w/DDD this morning then walked w/DH then DH and I went shopping for a new walking hat for him...we stopped and looked at puppies for adoption, but I couldn't have one...then I read my book. Tomorrow it's supposed to be the gym w/DDD then walking w/DH. We'll see what happens.
I managed 9.91 miles for 21,630 steps. My feet are cryin', I'm tellin' you!! Great weather this morning.
I hope everyone is having a blast today!

I bet you all had some RS DVD once upon a time.
Great job on the walking Chris.
Paula where will you take the bike? I am betting you will love your new bike rack.
Ok the tall book case is gone! WOOHOO. More to go later. Also went walking with the boys this morning. Did a 25 gallon water change. Not sure yet about the new mandarin. It was supposed to be a female. Looks male to me. If it lives I will have to find a good home for him. But the new pyramid butterfly fish is beginning to eat.
Walking Dead premier was tonight. There were dead folks everywhere!

It's OK, Paula...we'd end up here anyway! Besides...the workout is the exact same one as last week!! And I'll just follow you anywhere!
The plan today is...gym w/DDD...walk w/the boys...shop w/DDD for party stuff for SIL's b'day party the 24th...???bike???
It's really hard to get on the bike after I've showered and cleaned up for the day...the glisten just pours off me and I don't want to shower twice in one day...the drought, you know!
Okay I'll be back later.

Great football game yesterday. The Falcons won in OT...the stadium was rocking. Ron and I celebrated at a great SW restaurant then walked a little of it off on the Atlanta Beltline, a new part of the Pathway project in a revitalized area of Atlanta. We both would love to live in the city but the prices are outrageous. I got in 11,681 steps for 4.8 miles.
Also my tennis team won 3 out of 5. I'm texting firm the stadium trying to keep up with the scores and watch the game and Ron's laughing. He calls me a jock and is so surprised how serious I am about tennis. We are in second place by 1 point. We have a good chance of catching them with 2 weeks left.
I have a lesson tonight and practice tomorrow and a workout with the trainer on Wednesday. I need to work in a dvd.
Kathy0 -
Kathy sounds like you need a good yoga or stretch dvd after all the rest.
Congratulations on the win. Pom poms up. You are serious about tennis like I am about my fishy friends.
Chris the drought does stink. We have a bit of a fire going here. The compost pile at the dump started it. There have been a dozen homes burned down and numerous barns. It started Saturday night and is kicking up again. Looks like a pile of tires are up in smoke now also.
Paula which DVD are you going to do?
--Shelley0 -
I had a 60 min lesson this evening that turned into 90 minutes. Our coach just doesn't know when to stop which is good for us. Now if I can just get the food issues together. Working on it and I have additional incentive now. Got in 9,332 steps for 3.85 miles.
Ron and I are going to the Dominican Republic on a short getaway next month. We both have leave that we've got to "use or lose" and he suggested Punta Cana for a few days. So the beach it is!He makes me so happy.
I'm in the office tomorrow then straight to pratice. Will not be home unti 8ish.
Goodnight.
Kathy0 -
Kathy, I'm so happy for you! Sounds like Ron is a keeper! Nice workout.
Shelley, are you guys having drought issues, too? I didn't realize that. It sucks! And the price of California made beer is very likely to go up according to a newspaper source! Wouldn't you just know it? Nothing is sacred!
Worked out at the gym w/DDD then walked w/DH and Bean then shopped then made soup then finished my book and starting a new one right about...NOW!!!
I managed 7.57 miles for 16,522 steps. A good day!
I hope everyone has a lovely Tuesday...later, my friends.
Chris0 -
Kathy that sounds like loads of fun. And having a personal trainer who can not tell time is fantastic! I am thinking I need a special area rug in front of the new tank. Bring the ocean to life in my living room. Not as much fun as walking barefoot in the sand though. You will have to get loads of photos. To hard for me to leave home. So I am living the beach through you and Ron.
Al swims up to me now all the time. You would think I feed him or something! :l. Nice steps also. No extra snacking from now on my friend.
Shelley0 -
Oh people, I'm going to be a slug for a couple days. Had a board meeting tonight and a support group tomorrow. Carrying forward a good feeling though, after yesterday's almost 2hour hike, almost all uphill (okay, half up & half down, but it felt mostly up). There were no salamanders in the salamander pond - we'll need to go back in winter to catch them during the breeding season.
:drinker: Kathy, you are doing so amazing this year. :drinker:
Shelley, tell Al "hi" for me (wagging hands in front of ears like gills, and blowing pucker-mouthed fishie bubbles).
Chris, we seem to belong to a mu-tu-al admiration society. One of these days 80 measly miles will be insufficient to keep us apart.
Chris' shadow,
Paula0 -
Glad everyone's doing well. I've got a Biggest Loser DVD that I'm going to fire up this week. Off to the doc to see what my cholesterol is doing, then work, then the eye doc. Busy day!0
-
Shelley, you need to get a wall mural that goes from your ceiling to the floor of the ocean w/waves and a pier and an amusement park...like Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. OH! and btw...the world's best corn dogs are on that boardwalk, I'm tellin' you!! Your mural has surf boards sticking out of the sand and maybe a hot surfer running into the surf with his board. The sky is brilliant blue with a puffy cloud or two...and sea gulls! Your rug needs to be a soft sandy color. Your mural should have a fire pit with beach chairs around it...or you can have Rocky build you a beach fire pit on your soft sandy colored rug. Flames or not...they are optional!
Paula...slugging for one day is fine, however...
Clara hope your doc appts go as planned.
Walked w/DH and Bean this morning. It was pretty nice. I am really sore from our gym workout yesterday. Sitting hurts!
I have 6.0 miles for 13,080 steps so far. Going to read some.
Have a great evening, everyone!
Chris0 -
Paula you deserve being a slug sometimes. No salamanders? That is crazy talk. I so can see you saying hi to my fishy. So said hi back. Was shaking his tail and flashing his fins!
Chris I was really getting into that thought you put in my head. What a hunk! I would keep talking to you but he is calling me. Bye.
Clara I also hope your appointment goes well.
Shelley0 -
Shelley be careful of the jellyfish and the sand crabs!
Chris0 -
Tennis practice last night for 90 minutes. Only got in 7.902 steps for 3.25 miles. No tennis today. Planning on getting in some steps today.
Paula - a 2 hour bike ride sounds amazing. You deserve to be a slug for a couple of days.
Clara - I also have a biggest loser DVDs...must find it. Good luck with your appointmentss.
Chris - an ocean or beach wall mural...what a great idea.
Shelley - I will try to remember pictures. I'm so bad...once I'm on the beach I'm just lazy...can sit forever watching the water.
Happy Wednesday.
Kathy

Kathy hope you enjoyed your walk today!
Walked w/DH and Bean for two hours this morning then went to 1st grade and then hit the gym w/our trainer this evening. DDD is fighting "kid's germs" and didn't go with me. The morning was beautiful!
I managed 7.28 miles for 15,901 steps and a 60 minute gym workout. I'm good!
My food is right on but my weight went up the past two days...unhappy!Hope I'm happier about it tomorrow.
Have a great Thursday, everyone!
Chris0 -
Thank you for letting me have a 2nd slug day, Kathy. You're much nicer than someone else who only granted me one. And I'm with you in finding the ocean mesmerizing. Blissfully wonderful and all the world's troubles melt away.
Haven't any :drinker: sweating with the oldies :drinker: but must be a good workout buddy, so no 3rd slug-day. Will get up after logging and TRX.
:flowerforyou: Paula

You are right, Kathy is much nicer than I am...she liked my beach mural idea! And as far as 2 slug days are concerned...well, I guess it's okay!
The TRX RULES!!!! Did a bunch of TRX at the gym tonight, and I'm already feeling it!! Have fun!
Love the sound of the ocean waves!
Chris0 -
Chris
I luvs you as you are.
Well - workout buddies rule. :smokin: Did 15 minutes of shuffling around the house - not quite walk/not quite run but panting the whole way and dumb bells. Not much, but way more than would've happened if you'all weren't here to be encouraging.
Paula0 -
Way to go Paula! Shuffling with weights still counts!
My cholesterol/trig are still high, in spite of my diet efforts. So upped the cholesterol meds a bit and will redouble my efforts. DH says I need to cut back on my cocktails, and I know he's right. (Love my Monday martini!) So will keep wine/cocktails to Saturday/Sunday only. Sniff, sniff....0 -
Clara, that's a pretty good challenge! Keep us posted.
Paula, I love the new weighted shuffle exercise...I gotta try it!
Walked w/DH and Bean this morning. My legs and arms are cryin' form my workout yesterday.
Our Visa was hacked again yesterday for $8.00...Yes, $8.00. Some food farm down in Paso Robles. That's southern California. I know the town...broke my little toe there a very long time ago. Use to ride there on a kicked-out, chromed-out chopped Harley...a very long time ago!! Anyway, glad Visa declined the charge. Got our new cards today...fast service, I must say!
I managed 7.03 miles for 15,349 steps and then I went to 1st grade!
Have a great Friday, my friends!
Chris0 -
Worked out with my trainer for an hour of core and upper body. Then 60 minute tennis practice this evening. Not a lot of steps...only 7,062 for 2.9 miles.
Falcons on tonight...gotta go0 -
Chris that sucks. It hurts us all when thieves strikes. Hope your scales are nice to you tomorrow.
Paula that new shuffle almost sounds like walking lunges! Muahaha
Nice workout Kathy. You and Chris are doing great with your trainers.
Clara watch them drinks. They are sneaky!
Had an altercation in court today. Two large women, victims wife and daughter, tried to get at the defendant. I had my hands full. Ended up physically restraining one and calling for backup. I was lucky that a male family member pulled the widow away. I would have felt awful if I had to arrest them. Her husband died several days after being beat and kicked mercifully by the defendant and another man. The heart attack was deemed what killed him, not the beating. So he got off with supervised probation and restitution. I so understand why they were furious. Other than a sore throat from trying to regain order and some scratches I am fine. Must lift more weights!
Shelley
PS, fish are all seemingly doing fine. New fish just make me a wreck. But Al has been with me almost a month and is awesome.
Night all0 -
Shelley I'm so glad you are okay. NO FIGHTING, CHOKING OR STABBING IN THE COURT ROOM!!!! I hope that helps...I could make a sign. And, not to mention that there are other ways to get revenge instead of pummeling the guy in front of the jud...ummm, okay, never mind...you'd probably throw the hand cuffs at me for thoughts like that!
Kettlebells next week? Would that work?
Chris0 -
Aw Chris you know how to make my week! And Paula could use kettles while she shuffles around the house. Muahaha. And revenge only makes more victims. And lonely grandchildren. Speaking of, my granddaughter Kaeldra turned 10 today. Party and Mexican restaurant on for Saturday. I found my Biggest Losers DVD today also. Seemed others here mentioned using theirs.
Shelley0 -
A kettle shuffle, sounds good! My clothes are getting tight. uh oh...0
