How do you reward yourself?

The thing is, my shoe size is changing! I'm having to wear two pairs of socks in all of last year's shoes. I could not even begin to tell you if my calves are small enough to fit in boots...I haven't tried them in years. Before I was pregnant, I wore and 8.5W in women's shoes. During my pregnancy, my feet spread to a 10.5W. After I had my daughter, I was a 9.5W. I can now wear a 9.5 non-W, and most of my 10R I could wear before have to have two pair of socks to remotely fit, and my last tennis shoes have to be ratched down tightly to not slide on my feet... My calves at their widest are roughly 16-17".0 -
@KnitOrMiss A properly fitting sports bra is the definition of need for some of us. knowwhatimean?0

I don't have any rewards planned. I think I just enjoy the natural consequences so much, no rewards are needed.0

For me the milestone losses ARE the reward. I do enough retail therapy the rest of the time.0

I haven't planned any rewards either. I just get a bit of new clothes when the old ones don't fit and the fact that I can do more.0

That needs to go in the NSV thread!!! Great job!! I'm a big calf girl too (thanks Dad!) and I do have one pair of boots but would like to get another pair but I'm waiting until a lose a little more so hopefully I'm not disappointed when I got to try them on. I wanted to buy a pair at the end of the season last winter but couldn't find any that would zip up or slip on.0 -

Amen, sister! Amen. I bought the couple I have now before I started changing sizes, and I don't know if the bras are wonky or if I am, but my fiance looked at me in one the other day, and said something about how we need to get ones that actually help! LOL0 -
I rewarded myself by doing something I wanted to do for a long term: take a course in Norwegian! And I've upped my sauna visits, now that it's starting to be winter.0

There is nothing like some new clothing & shoes as a reward...although, workout gear & accessories are nice too. iPod music, reading material are essential for cardio
True, but I decided at the beginning of this that I'd treat workout gear as a necessity, not a reward.
I've tried, and failed, to justify Louboutins as "necessary" and no matter how hard I try, hubby isn't buying that line. So that's definitely a reward. However, if you can make an argument for them being necessary, I'm all for it.
So many husbands would disagree that Louboutins are non-essential.0 -
I am not at the reward stage yet, but when I lose 15lbs, ( first goal) I know the feeling of trying on clothes and discarding the big stuff, and enjoying the slinkier stuff will be a huge treat. Now that I think of it, I may suggest going to dinner in a fantastic local place, ( a castle that serves steak on a sword with flamming brandy) so I can eat the steak, and be able to dress a little nicer and feel like I am worth taking out again. I am at the start of my journey, so this will motivate me .0

Every 5 pounds I plan a kayaking trip for half a day or so. I like to go to an island nearby and read and write. For the final goal I am planning a trip down to Key West for some snorkeling and kayaking and a night out on the town.
I will also rent a bike and pedal all over the place down there.0 -
Because I've yo yo'ed 50 lbs in the past I just don't feel like I can even think in terms of reward. Yet.
Perhaps that's not a healthy perspective? I used FOOD as a reward so much in the past, that for me the reward is simply seeing the scale continue to move.
Celebration?!? That's different. I want to give some thought as to milestone celebrations. 75 lbs down is now visible a few months ahead - a steak fry perhaps?!
I see some of you that have hit 100 lbs down - triple digits, now that's worth a party!
I hope you have some people in your life that would celebrate that with you. If not, then we need to have online "thread parties" when someone hits a major goal.

I feel that this WOE and how great I feel are the rewards. It doesn't really occur to me to celebrate a milestone like 100 pounds lost etc. My reward is my staying power with this WOL, and the control I have for the first time in my life over what I eat....and the delicious food I eat is also reward ! I love everything about this. My life has changed in so many ways for the better.
I do enjoy trying on smaller sized clothing and feel such joy when they fit ! Another reward right now at 103 pounds down in total, 63 pounds since last Fall, is that I don't cringe when I see myself in the mirror anymore. I am starting to like what I see ! I still have a ways to go, but I'm getting there. And I am already planning what sort of clothes I might want to wear when I reach my goal at 38 more pounds lost. My reward will be a two piece bathing suit that shows my new tummy....not the kind with a tank top that I can hide behind like I have now. My reward will be that the sun will see my new tummy and not just my arms and legs !
I feel much more comfortable in my own skin emotionally. My reward right now is that my emotional acceptance of my new slimmer body is getting more realistic. I feel more whole if I can describe this accurately, i.e., my physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual selves are getting together with acceptance of myself. That feels so amazing !0 -

Logging my exercise is one of my rewards for exercising, although exercise is a reward for getting out of bed early.0

I have varying rewards (from movies & foot massages to hiking boots and fall decorations) for certain milestones. Once I hit 75 down (I'm 10 away) I am buying the Tory Burch Fitbit bracelet.0
