Can I join on the Giro still or are the teams full? I've no idea what I'll pull distance wise. I'm certainly not riding the larger distances I pulled two years ago. Nor do I have any speed but hills exist here and there.0

okay folks... quick heads up - we're also trialing an "automatic" ride logging system using Jasons excellent CycLeagues app... Now, for the Giro we'll definitely be needing manual logging of the rides as well as the "auto" version (because - well - i'm too paranoid to throw the switch without a full parallel run - the challenges mean too much to me to let things go pear shaped because I didn't integrate my existing logging properly with Jasons work...)
So, to get a proper trial, I need everyone that's signed up for this challenge to go into strava and join the following "club"

Unfortunately I will be away bike-less for about 4 weeks likely within June/July but dates not fixed yet so can't commit fully to a team event but happy to contribute to a team if you need to make up numbers and that is acceptable to the others in it. As for figures, I seem to be averaging 2 or 3 rides of 70 km a week right now. Already in the Strava group.0

Aiming for about 500km for the whole event. Perhaps more if I'm lucky but work/life has been crazy lately so perhaps less.0 -
I'm probably good for 60-90km a week ... since my riding time is fairly limited to work lunchtime and the weekend time is limited by 6 kids and a sick spouse ... Better than nothin', right?

second Category added for people who may only be able to ride part of the tour... Now, if we get a full complement of riders, then these people won't be called upon, however, IF we either have a last minute drop-out, or we simply can't fill the entire rosta, then i'll contact the "subs bench" in the order that they are entered in the "subs list" - preference will be given to persons commiting to a full tour, BUT were late in registering, then, on a on a first-come, first served basis for the partials - and ask at that point if they're still "up for the challenge" and what, if anything they can ride... Don't be surprised however, subs, if the challenge fills up and you don't get to ride - these challenges have got pretty popular over the past 4 years or so. That's part of why we're looking to automate things on the entries logging via Jason's marvelous CycLeagues app... - basically, the only things that are really stopping me from expanding to more than 4 teams are the time spent logging and the time it takes to crunch out the dossards...
with that second part in mind, I will be trying to keep the dossard no's and teams as close to the numbers issued for the 2015 giro, and substituting riders to cover the "missing members" from last year... If I can keep 60% of the riders on the same number, that could well save me 2 or more hours in designing the race numbers.

I am aiming for 100k per week. Mine varies based on weather and which body parts are being cranky.
Bama Boy Scout guesses about 200k per week for him. It varies because he's following a training plan.

Well you don't have to do anything with them, totally optional, however you can login at
cycleagues.com (not cycleague.com)
It's something I developed for these challenges to cater for automatic logging to save all that manual logging and issues that come with human error.
For now try logging in and check your details are correct at the top. As well as automatically grabbing Strava data every 60 seconds you can compete weekly/monthly in the Cat tables and the upcoming Summer Championship that starts 1st June and lasts 3 months.
The big advantage with this kind of thing is seeing live tables, someone submits a ride and within a couple of mins it's reflected in CycLeagues.com.0 -
