I am a proud Week 1 Day 2! Doing well. I increased the speed a bit and felt better during the run!5

I tackled W5D1 of 5K to 10K again today. I still walked on the steepest uphill parts, but much less than on Saturday's attempt, so I'm counting it.
Stats: 6.3 miles in 81:19 for a pace of 12:54.4 -
w6d1 completed. i think i was going faster today, because at the last 5' i felt pooped. speed is something i definitely have to work on, but at my height i don't have any unrealistic expectations. i have short legs, so a smaller stride than normal people.3

Week 1 Day 3 COMPLETED! This is a really big step for me and I'm looking forward to next week!3

w6d2 done. it was hard today. pretty warm outside and i felt a bit tired. i'm glad i have the weekend to rest before i attempt the 22 minutes. from now on there are no more walking breaks,so i'm interested to see how that will go.3

Finished the c25k! First time I have actually completed an exercise program! Did 2.75 miles on week 8 d3. Now will work on speed.5

W5D2 of 5K to 10K today. I'm still walking more often than I'd like. I think I'm going to finish the 5K to 10K program and then cut back to a shorter distance and work on not dropping to a walk on the steep parts.
Stats: 6.3 miles in 81:29 for a pace of 12:56.1 -

You got this... as others who have gone before you, the program works... trust in the program and believe in yourself!Lovemybody75 wrote: »Finished the c25k! First time I have actually completed an exercise program! Did 2.75 miles on week 8 d3. Now will work on speed.
Great job!! When attempting to work on speed, others had suggested to me to move on to the Bridge to 10K program. I had no desire to run a 10K race, but decided to go ahead and move on to that program and it really did help my endurance and therefore my pace. From when I finished the C25K program until I actually ran my first 5K race was about 5 weeks later, I decreased my 5K time by almost 4 minutes.4 -
w6d3 done. two more weeks to go. i can't wait to tell my family i can run for 30' non stop.i don't know if they'll even believe me!1

Week 2 day 1 completed. I wanted to keep my running days Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday but I was unable to because I'm weight training and needed an extra day for leg recovery. My run today was pretty good. Looking forward to Wednesday!3

W5D3 of 5K to 10K. I think that I walked less than last time - however, when I do run on the steep parts, it is clearly no faster than I walk, since I'm not any faster. Next time, I'm supposed to run the full 10K distance. I'm sure I'll still end up with some walking.
Stats: 6.3 miles in 81:47 for a pace of 12:58.

w7d1 completed. the first 5' were hard. i felt a bit tired today so i slowed down as much as i could for the majority of the run, then at the last 5' i had a good song come up, so i went a bit faster.1

Week 2 Day 2 completed. I felt a bit tired but was able to push through. I even sprinted a bit during my cool down (I just felt the urge) but made sure to have a proper cool down. Feeling inspired!3

Week 6 Day 2 done yesterday. Eager to put week 6 past me tomorrow.2

w7d2 completed. i didn't think i would make it today.woke up feeling sore because the dog wanted to sleep between my legs last night..on top of that it's my TOM and i was tired and in pain.As soon as i started running the pain was gone and after the first 5' i felt much better. I'm so glad i have 2 full rest days now. I love weekends1

W6D1 of 5K to 10K. Officially - 10K with no programmed walking! Just 2 more runs before I "graduate" from the 5K to 10K program. However, as usual, I did walk on some of the hills, although I think less this time. It was a great morning for a run - cloudy, low 60s - and I had some interesting podcasts to listen to that kept my mind busy.
Stats: 6.22 miles in 79:01 for a pace of 12:42! Big improvement over my last run.5 -
Going to do Week 2 Day 3 today the last day I did I completed 1.8 miles in 31 min. I'm loving it!3

Week 6 Day 3 over. 2 more weeks to go.2

I completed w2d3 today! Looking forward to next week.2

Week 7 Day 1 done. Longest run yet..!!2

w7d3. even though i had a whole weekend to rest, i was exhausted today. i don't think i've had such a hard time before.i'm entering my last week now, and to be honest 5 more minutes won't make a big difference (i hope). It will not be 5k, that i know,so i will continue running a little more each week until i officially reach the 5k without including my warm-up and cool down time.2

DING! W3d1 completed and it has been my hardest run since starting the program. I kept seeing horror stories about this week so I refused to commit the running and rest times to memory. I just waited for the DING to guide me. Keeping the pace steady and not watching the time helped a ton. Gearing up for w3d2!3

W6D2 of 5K to 10K. As usual, I did walk on some of the hills.
Stats: 6.22 miles in 78:11 for a pace of 12:34. That's fast for me.1 -
Week 7 Day 2 done. Slow pace. Won't be able to finish 5k in 30 mins. But will continue this pace till I complete the program and then work on improving the pace.2

w8d1 done. i barely reach the 4k and that's including my warm-up and cool down time. the way i see it , in order to run 5k it will take me about 45'-50' .It's a bit disappointing, but looking at how far i've come, one can't really complain ,can they?2

Don't be disappointed. Just finishing the program is an accomplishment, even if you aren't running 5K. I was amazed when I got to where I could run for 30 minutes without a break.
A lot of people just continue on their own to stretch the distance and/or increase their speed and I wish I was the sort of person who could do that. Without a program to follow, I tend to slack off. But, I really wanted to be able to say that I could run a full 5K distance (doing it in 30 minutes has never been my goal). So, I used the rundouble app, which does a distance based version (you have to do it outside, using GPS) and did the whole program all over again. Maybe that wasn't necessary, but I had stopped running for a few weeks and outside has hills and weather and I just felt better starting over.1
