Hello Team 4 and @MissionEnforcer
My name is Tina and I was just added to your team off the WaitList. I am excited to join the challenge and a newbie to this one. I live outside of Albany, New York (Albany is approximately 3 hours north of New York City). We have all four seasons here and we have had a beautiful fall. Winter is starting to arrive as the temperature are starting to drop. The Adirondack Mountains are here and so you can hike in the summer and ski in the winter.
I am happily married, have two children (15G & 25B) and love to ski!! Good luck everyone.4 -
230 steps for the day. Shouldn't be too hard to get the rest of them. I have to walk up 10 steps just to get to the bathroom. Hardest part is remembering what number I left off on!3

Hi team! The past 2 days were really low energy. I got a really really good night sleep last night. Probably the best night sleep I have had in a very very long time. I should be good to go & will get lots of exercise minutes today.
Have a great Tuesday!4 -
Another week! I was MIA yesterday because I had my 8-year-old at work with me (teacher professional development day at school). But I'm super excited to have a stair challenge! This one shouldn't be too difficult for me. I climb these steps every single morning on my way to work:
Then I follow them up with the 121 stairs to my 7th-floor office I do those 121 stairs at least 2-3 times a day: once in the morning, once after my lunch break, and then usually at least one more time when I have a meeting in another building (I work at a university so we're all connected). I swore off elevators over a year ago and only use them when I'm carrying something heavy, have a cart, or am with someone else and can't convince them to take the stairs with me. I got my 8yo to do them with me once yesterday I actually LOVE taking the stairs now. It's amazing to me how much better my breathing is and how much quicker I can do them now. Plus, when you have a desk job, you gotta get your steps/stairs in as much as possible!
I only ran a little over 2 miles this morning, but I ran faster than usual, trying to work on speed. I managed a sub-10 average pace, which I'm pretty happy about. I managed to curb the late-night snacking last night, too. That's my vice and will be the biggest hurdle for me to jump over this week, but I promise to do it. How are you all doing?10 -
@xxghost That is hilarious! "Did I screw up again?" "Yeah, ya did!" lmbo0

ATTENTION ALL PLAYERS:
The 10 Points for CHALLENGE #1 IS FOR DOING THE 5 DANCE VIDEOS 2x EACH.
Not for watching the 2 Romanian videos (which you may count as 10 minutes of exercise,
if active while you watch).1 -
@carinamenina jealous of the stairs at your fingertips! You'll have your steps done in no time!!
I have a desk job too, but only 4 steps up to get into haha. I've got stairs at home that I seem to do a million times each day though. Get downstairs, remember you forgot something upstairs, you know the drill! Anyone struggling with remembering where you left off, I use the note program in my phone and just update it every couple of times I do the stairs at home/work. I love using the stairs when I go to visit my Grandma on the 6th floor. I always race my mom in the elevator and I've beat her more times than you'd think! Depends on the number of stops she makes on the way up, but her apartment door is by the stairs entrance and far from the elevator so I've got that going for me too. Maybe I'll pay her a visit just to get those stairs in I'll also probably have to hit the stair climber at the gym to get to the magical number. I used to hate that thing, but after the challenges in the last race I've come to love it. Makes my legs burn baby burn!!
I'm having a rough and slow start to the week. I had the busiest weekend, and was only home for a total of 10 hours from Friday at 4:00 until Sunday around midnight... it was fun but awful at the same time. That, on top of the family drama going on with my husbands side, has exhausted me. There have been so many hurtful things said and done, I'm at the point of wondering if there will be any coming back from it all. Emotionally exhausting and so incredibly saddening right before the holidays.
Happy Tuesday, team! Time to get out of last place, let's go go go!!!3 -
Also - woke up to the hubby climbing out of bed last night to get a snack. Invited me to come with him, but I knew if I went down those stairs I'd find something to munch on. No thank you! Ashley - 1 Temptation - 04

I managed to get in almost half my stairs yesterday. When you live in a 3 story house it's not really difficult. My bedroom is on the main but my office and laundry room are both in the basement. I had to change the sheets on the guest bed, upstairs, yesterday and clean up the room after 3 of our grandsons spent the weekend with us so plenty of up and down!
I was able to resist the snacking although I must say a late smoothie would have really hit the spot! My husband was no help either @smashleym914! He got up and made popcorn at 10:00!4 -
I didn't see the step challenge so now I am clued in. I did see the dance ones and am doing them tonight. I too have a desk job. So I count the steps on the way up and then again on the way down. So for the most part it should be a 24 stair round trip. I better do the math. BTW I have farmhouse stairs so I might have to be careful.
I need to find me some court house stairs.2 -
Well, Thankfully my husband had to work today so got the dance videos out of the way......there is a reason I only dance after a couple of cocktails- it is a scary sight as I have absolutely no rhythm at all! Watched the travel videos while I did resistance bands so going to add in the 10 minutes for them. As for the stairs, will get started on them tomorrow when I am back at work, there is a benefit to working on the 6th floor and having to go between floors frequently. I'll give an update tomorrow as I hope to have at least half of them done.
Here's to a great week Team 4!!!6 -
I did the videos today at work. I watched the parking lot to make sure no customers were coming into the store. At this time of year, with most pools closed it is nice to have the distraction of silly things to do:)
Just imagine what you would think, going into your local small pool store, seeing the owner dancing. Fortunately no one did & I am glad that I have not told me daughter how to access the surveillance cameras6 -

Hey Fours!
I managed to get a gnarly sliver in that tender spot between my toe and my foot, so my exercise might suffer a bit. But I am going to still get to the gym for some weights tonight, if nothing else. I can't bring myself to log zeroes on you all.6 -
150 more steps today. Going to find more stairs tomorrow. Having fun with the videos.3
-
Hi everyone! I've got 403 total steps up so far. I've been using my notes app on my phone to keep track of them throughout the day. No late night snacking and a couple more of the dance videos to finish. Fun fun fun:-)4
-
Two more videos and less than 200 stairs to go. Tonight while I was running up and down the stairs I had my husband, son, and two of the dogs following behind me.4
-
It's starting to get cold here so I went to the gym for the 1st time in awhile. I did 200 steps on the stair master and got my miles in on the elliptical. I haven't watched the videos yet so I will get to them tomorrow.5
-
Hi all!
I did my steps this morning on the stair climber thing at the gym. I am pretty sure that I did more than I needed to. I calculated the # of steps per floor. At the end it said I was doing an average of 50 steps/minute, which is 850 steps. I do have porch steps at home too, so I feel confident that I have completed that challenge.
I will try to walk the store or find some fun youtube video to do that doesn't take up much room.
Have a great day!6 -
I finished the stair challenge! Had to go up the 121 stairs to my office 3x yesterday, so that helped push me across the threshold The not snacking at night thing is HARD. I usually budget some calories at the end of the day to allow myself to snack after the kids go to bed while I'm getting some downtime, but I can't do that this week and it's really throwing me :P My stomach was really growling last night around 10:30. I just drank some water and tried to ignore it :P I still need to do the videos but won't have time until Friday or Saturday. I didn't do my usual run this morning because I needed more sleep, so I brought my workout clothes with me and will do a quick 5K or something on my lunch break. It's nice that it's warm enough to still do that, yet cool enough I shouldn't be super sweaty for the rest of the day! Hope your Wednesday is going well!4
-
Just started the stair challenge. I have 4 steps to my front door so did a lot of repeats to get to 240. At least I'm on my way.3
-
Since my baby is sleeping (and no one else if home), I got all my dancing out of the way (LOL) - Ill head up to the local university tonight and do stadiums for the stair challenge! As for no dessert... does wine count??3
-
@mckeon11: I think we can still have dessert (& wine) but I think the challenge is no night time snacking. I often snack on popcorn after 8:00, so none of that for 5 days.
I personally gave up wine, for the week, just to see if it would make a difference & kick start some weight loss.4 -

Wow great job on the stairs everyone!! I'm working on that up to 300 and counting! I must say I am most happy with the no snacking! I have done it 3 nights in a row!! Yay me!3
-
I am working hard on the stairs. I am at 492. It is really hard. Whole I was at work I went upstairs a couple of times just so I could count the stairs. Whoever said the keeping part was the hardest part of the stairs was right. I did the dance challenges I liked the one with the monsters Woman with purple shirt. I watched a couple yesterday while doing my fitness hula hoop. I tried it again but it just hurt to hoop. Anyone else hoop?? You have to toughen up to beable to do it a couple of days in a roll.4
-
Team, I have some logging to catch up on. I will get it done soon. I played my first golf game today. That was fun. My legs are sore, and I bet my arms will be so tomorrow.2
-
I'm not going to have time for a workout today I'm actually really bummed about it. I could have gotten up early to go for a quick run but my children woke me up around 1am and I just knew I needed the sleep if I'm to get through everything else I have to do today. I plan to at least watch the scenic videos while walking around, so that will give me 10 minutes, right? That sounds so pitiful but I think every little bit helps...3
-
HI all! Grey, rainy, yucky day here, so I went to the gym before work.
I did another 5 minutes or 250 steps on the stair climber this morning. It is probably easier than actual steps, because I can hold on, so I am doing extra. I then ran for 35 minutes on the boring treadmill. I will do some store/home walking this afternoon to keep warm & for some extra minutes.
@carinamenina 10 minutes is definitely better than nothing!
@xxghost : hope your toe/foot is better!
Good job everyone on working on those stairs. I know it is hard!
