Obligatory repeat o' challenge blurb -
baconslave wrote: »Ok Folks. Since we already have a bunch of goals posted on this thread, I'm just going to edit the title and make it the Week 1 Thread.
Here's our challenge:
We're in the short month. 28 days. Perfect for what I call a "sprint." Go ALL OUT on your goals, hardcore, for 28 days. No screw-ups!
You could make sure your electrolyte levels are better.
Or commit to more exercise.
Or decide to forgo a bad habit you KNOW is hampering your health from being what it could.
Or start a good habit you've been putting off.
Or simply continue to focus on whatever health-conscious New Year's Resolution you made for last month.
Or make sure your logging is locked in more tightly.
Do whatever you have to do. And don't F-up!
But if you do? Hey, we're here for you. To tell you to get back on dat wagon, yo!

Happy Week Three!
Now let's see if I can get THIS one right!
-Exercise mindfully at least 10minutes per day.
-Keep calories under 1700
-Keep carbs under 20 net
Goooooooo Week Three!
Let's do our best to NOT F'UP!!4 -
Wow, week 3 already?
Today's been good so far--and making delicious buffalo shrimp for dinner. I'm so excited

Will be up in the mountains Friday -Monday for the holiday weekend where there's so much snow, it busted the door in on the mud room so my running may take a hit cause I don't run in snow. BUT the kids and friends are going sledding so I vow to actually, meaningfully participate and treat the adventure like a workout!

I did good yesterday!! A tiny glass of wine after dinner, but not so bad.
It's O week, so I'm up my hormonal 5 pounds. Always fun.4 -
I've continued to keep my carbs as close to zero as possible and have been really tight on my diet - no cheat days or slip ups so far! I haven't got to the gym as often as I would like as family and life has got in the way a bit, but I've done some sort of activity every day, even if it's just my morning 20 minute routine. Very happy with February so far!8

Did not have BPC and did have 10 choc chips, boo. But I did make a lasagna with zucchini as the noodles, so good! I was willing to make a regular one for hubby and he was ok with trying the zucchini version. He loved it too.3

Starting at 187. Morale not too bad as I've seen some loss and am now under 85kgs! First time in a long long long time. Ultimate goal is 64.5kgs which is 139.9lbs. And towards that I want to do a little better in February and March, so by April 7th I'd like to be down to at least 163, that's 24 lbs in less than two months. That's 3.5 lbs a week. A little ambitious considering my pace so far. But I have my reasons and will try to stay on plan and do better this time. So hoping to be 183.9 by the end of this week.
I need to sleep better, move more, and eat a little less.3 -
Just checking in. Not sure why, but things seem to be heading in the right direction in a few areas and the opposite in a couple others. The good news is diet and activity are solid.
Just keeping moderate and consistant whenever possible. Interesting to note that once I started back up with daily weigh ins and daily logging, my adherence improved.
Heading back to a modified goal weight, with some toning and flexibility yoga stretches for 30 minutes. That's my plan for this month and however long it takes to get there.

Rats! Just saw this challenge. While I am (mostly) adhering to my 5:2 8/16 plan, I hope someone starts a March challenge! I will definitely join in!3

Fluffernutter!
Anyway...did the workout. weight was up 1lb today. Why? Who knows? I'm getting frustrated with being hungry all the time and the scale acting like this but the measurements don't lie.
At least my eyes, though I had to apply drops about 7 times, did not do the ouchies last night. 1 frickin week until my appt with Nerdy Doc, who I wanted to like. He'd better listen to me. Or...or...or...or I'll order my own bloodwork and leave him out of my discoveries. I'm seriously about to find a functional medicine doc an hour drive away. That's the closest.
I have been having foot-charlie-horses the past 2 nights...despite stellar mag supplementation. *insert eye roll* Mag oil to the rescue! I prefer to not have them though.
I wanted to eat the world last night. But I did not.

Well, I snacked after closing my diary last night. If I count net calories, I didn't *kitten* up. I logged it this morning though. Accountability, right? I think there's a correlation between water intake and calories....
Good morning!4 -
2/15: carbs good. weight in range. woke up early and did my strength training. collagen in coffee. no chores again...oops
Today is cold but I want to do a quick run after work. Not sure I'll be able to get out there though. I'm tired and just blah for some reason.1 -
One of my goals was not to weigh myself until March 1st and it's been interesting. Since I just started low carb again on Feb 1 after about a year, I know anything I've lost is water...but it's kinda cool to see how much "bloat" has gone away in just 3 weeks. Not using the scale has forced me to focus on all the other benefits this way of eating offers and it's been nice not to be wrapped up in the numbers. Though I'd be lying if I wasn't antsy for 3/1 to see what the scale claims.
Overall, I'm not doing too bad. There was one night of drinking, and I battled with my calories here and there, but my 50g or less of carbs has been adhered to since day 1. I think there was only one or two days where I didn't log (coincided with the drinking...and hangover). And I've been trying my darndest to slow down and chew with moderate success.
It's supposed to be unseasonably warm in WI this weekend, so there will be many, many walks with the dogs.3 -
@baconslave, we need to find you a specialist! I'm so sorry for your *kitenneningkittenkittenkitten* eye problems.
Nothing to report here--cals, carbs, exercise o point, scale still enemy mine, self-loathing at about 70%.1 -
@baconslave pickles help keep my Charlie horses away thank God. Glad you slept better. Hoping nerdy doc listens to you. Both my oncologist and surgeon (for follow ups) are very supportive of keto and that makes all the difference.
My hubby makes a mean potato and cheese soup, comfort food. I asked him to substitute with cauliflower last night. It was good but next time we need to use less broth and replace the milk with half and half or cream.2 -
Yay for week 3, this month is going by fast! I have done pretty well with my goals so far, though a bit lagging on the weight loss. Managed to maintain during my work trip to Europe last week and that is all I can hope for!
Have lost .5 lb since I got home. Now reading Keto Clarity by Jimmy Moore. Always good to learn more new tips - and to reinforce what I have learned in the past.
Hope everyone had a Happy Valentines day and a good week!
One more thing - need to drink more water! Having the worst time keeping up with that!3 -

Unfortunately he didn't do all the tests needed to determine what kind of specialist I need. All I know is, IF it's autoimmune, then I'm seronegative. But he didn't do tests to rule anything else out. So we still basically know nothing. *eyes be rollin* He should have listened to me. I'm not-so-subtly going to radiate that attitude. In 6 more days... Lord Above!
You wait 6-weeks for an appointment,
then you wait 2 more,
then you get another appt
and you wait some more.
You do the healthcare hokey-pokey
and you rip out your hair!
That's what it's all about.
Oh that hokey-pokey...1 -

I've never posted goals on here but been concentrating on going as low carb as possible and getting those healthy fats. I think I'm getting the hang of it!4 -
Got more than 30 activity today!
Food plan was in range, a little higher cal, but okay carbwise.
Feeling good about that.5 -
Good day! Calories and macros were on target, and I did strength today (YAYOG).3
-
@baconslave how aggravating. I'm sorry.2
-
I had a fabulous day, again.
Under carbs, under calories, worked out.7 -
2/16: Carbs good and weight is in range. Collagen taken with coffee. Got a short, cold, windy jog in. Will gather and take out trash before bed as tomorrow is pickup.
Hoping to get up and workout in the morning but we'll see. I've been so tired all day.4 -
Trying to stay keto, feeling super tired. Stress of deadlines, resisting ideas of comfort food.3
-
Sounds like week 3 is going better for everyone! Hooray!
I'm still F'ing up but at least I'm owning. I'm already carb/sugar heavy today (looking at a <60g rather than my planned <30g ), however I WILL drink my 2l of water.
3 -
My water intake is amazeballs. Heading to gym this am before the long weekend. Had to cut run short Wed so trying to give myself enough time today to do a good 3.5miles.4
-
@baconslave
Have you tried castor oil on your eyelids at night? It's supposed to take 10-15 consecutive days to take effect, but since it's not super expensive, might be worth a shot if it's not something you have tried already. Some people put it in their eyes, but I'm not sure I would be that brave...but then, I have trouble with eye drops anyway.1 -
Day 16
Cals--under
Carbs--over
Steps: 14k
Exercise: 325/300 weekly minutes
Meh.
