That sounds like a good start! We're you pretty satisfied with the appointment? [/quote]
I was. He was very straight forward without being condescending like some doctors can be.

If your BG was 309 before dinner and you took 8 units of Humolog and your bedtime number is 130 ....would you take 15 units of Levemir? Curious....0

I am a long way from knowing much about using insulin, but there are wide individual variations, so you somehow have to figure out what works for you. I'm betting your endo will have some good advice on how to go about it. In the meantime, Dr. Bernstein's Diabetes University series on YouTube has several videos on insulin dosing
I know this isn't the question (sorry!) but the only approach that really worked for me in 15+ years of T2D was figuring out how to avoid high BG levels in the first place. (Needless to say, that took a while....)1 -
Well I was concerned my fbg would be too low so ate some peanut butter and only took 7 units. Experiment failed. 1420

Did your Endo give you a sliding scale for the Humalog?
Are you using pens or vials?
After my cold my numbers jumped up a bit & now I'm
having trouble getting them back down again.

Im on pens. Yes, he did Humolog
20-150 = 2 unit
151-200 = 3 units
201-250 = 4 units
251-300 = 6 units
Over 300 = 8 units
Levemir 15 units at bedtime.
I hope your cold gets better and things get back to normal for you.

Hmm. Can you inagine thinking of pastries as Drano or Clorox (or something else that would be bad to consume - but that you have no problem not ingesting)?0 -

Lol, I was having a low control moment as I was trapped in a 6 hour meeting I don't think I needed to be in and I was falling asleep.0 -

For the last 3 nights, my bedtime blood glucose was:
108
96
89
Note: I do take Novolog insulin (fast-acting) with my meals to keep my blood sugars in check throughout the day.2
