Life line

This forum has quickly become a sort of life line for me. i keep coming back, reading old threads, looking for new ones. i bet i show up here ten plus times a day. For now it helps me sray on track but I'm always looking for more. There are so many videos and studies to read. I've always been a skeptic of foodie claims around health. i still am a skeptic. I need to see the science. To my surprise, the science is there, and it's becoming overwhelming.

I see an obsession coming on. All of my obsessions have been wonderful and long term so this is good news.

I know exactly what you mean, I was hooked here for a long time in a good way. It's what I needed to keep me going forward even when I slipped up and regressed back to old ways. I wouldn't be where I am today without this group and the many long term friendships cultivated here. As I've grown and learned I've "needed" the group less and less which makes me sad but kinda happy at the same time, I've learned to apply everything from here on a daily basis and it's just my normal day now.

This group <3 pretty much cleared, lit, and provided escorts down the path of getting my *kitten* T2D into remission. :p

Pure luck finding my way here (but not about to leave).

We know you love us @RalfLott...we love you too. <3:)

I 100% agree! It is so nice to have a place to come and discuss our WOE and not feel the eyes glaze over or made to feel we are slowly killing ourselves with our food choices.

    |I don't think I could handle dealing with negative nay-sayers while beginning this WOE. I simply don't have the facts in my brain yet to counter it. I have checked out other places since then and I tend to scurry right back here. I still have a ton of conditioning to undo, and even tho my head can tell me that the research is sound, the emotional response to counter arguments I've heard and consumed my whole life can seem to make sense, even when I know they don't anymore. This place is so welcoming and informative, and can sure point you in the direction of more information so you can get to a place of being able to counter, pffft, bad information. I am so grateful to everyone for making this such a helpful experience.

One thing to bear in mind, if you can stomach it, is that many folks are so settled in their ways and beliefs that nothing you can say will budge them half an angstrøm.

You can say things like, "it benefits the spleen - pineal gland connection," which should at least leave all but the most obnoxious know-it-alls totally speechless. :|

I remember a certain Knight in Shining Armour saving me from a whole raft of naysayers who decided I'd be fair game for a target of hostility, and instead welcoming me to this forum...... eh, @RalfLott....? ;)

Haha, we are a bit shy on naysayers here.... :p

It seems like for every 10 people into whose ears I try to murmur sweet nothings about our group, perhaps seven respond, three actually sign up :), and <cough> one, max, becomes a regular contributor. :kissing_closed_eyes:<3

I think we have a lot of lurkers. Our membership is high so there must be a lot of people reading, learning or disagreeing, and not feeling the need to post.

Lurker here poking head into conversation

Well hello there and welcome lurker @Shulyn!! Do poke your head into more conversations more often! The more the merrier and all that!! :)

I was guided here by one of the main forum mods way back when, I want ready at the point then someone from the group found me a few months later, sadly she got banned from the forums a while back :(

Funny thing I'm not even very low carb most of the time anymore but this group is like family even if it has changed a ton in the last couple years. I'm not as active as I used to be but always try to check in when theres time.
