Challenge blurb. Again.
LAST WEEK!
Due to me being gone for the holiday weekend this coming Monday, and the end of the month close after that, and because that's the way I roll , this thread will wrap up the month.
Keep it up!

Life gets busy and throws nonsense in the way of our goals. Sometimes we just don't "feel it"? But at some point we were motivated, right? Well, this month we are going to mainline you motivation all month long. 31 days of focusing in, with eagle-sharp focus, on a goal.
It's up to you. Do you need a 30/31 challenge (30 minutes every one of the 31 days this month.) A push-up challenge? Further your fitness level? Tamp down on the basics? Just plain need accountability? That's why we are here.
There'll be a thread up in the sticky section with links to each week for easy access when/if the thread gets buried.
Get motivated to reach your goal for May. And when motivation wanes, come to this thread an lean on us. We want every single one of you to succeed.
Come on in and post your goals! Check-in as often as you want/need. We'll keep the light on for ya.

Also, ideas for a June challenge are welcome.
I did absolutely nothing yesterday for exercise as I was stuck in the car or in other complete *kitten* situations all day long. It was right out of the National Lampoon's playbook...
To set the scene. Rainy day and I wake up with TOM (the arsehole.) Up early to get the kids (I have 4 btw) ready for Sunday School. It's the first time I've taken them to church since before my 8-year-old was born (not the first time they've been. We've just been unchurched for awhile. They go with ILs, in-laws, when they spend the night.) That part went really well.
Downhill from there. Drove the van to the ILs to pick-up a trailer to go to Virginia to get some lambs from MIL (mother-in-law's) sister and her husband at their new place.
Hitching the trailer was a huge PITA...did I mention it was raining the whole time?
Then it finally gets hitched, and as we get ready to pull out of the driveway it pops off the ball and has to be rehitched. So keep in mind we've picked up a +3 here. The kids are loud and the IL's dogs are running around the van and trailer like annoying idiots.
We make it on the road, then we stop by Bristol to see a BIL (bro-in-law) and have lunch. Keys get locked in the van! DH has to run with BIL's car to the ILs house and back to get the spare keys. There went another hour and 15min. DH gets back, stuffs cold food in his face; we are on the road again. All of us in the creepy, white 12-passenger van like a redneck clown-car. 45 min drive. We get near and then ditsy MIL, who has been there 5 fricken times, (love her but OMFG!) gives us wrong directions down a tiny one-lane road...trailer has to be backed out. The rest of the way is "I'm not sure, WAIT! this is it!"...and "slow down I'm not sure if this is it or not"...at every intersection on this gravel road that looks like it's straight out of the movie Deliverance! We are there finally. And have a good visit. And then are stuck there for another 30 to 45 min trying to get uncle-in-law to stop jawing his stories at us (he is notorious for this) after which he makes a comment on how the men have been waiting on the women to stop taking forever clucking their heads off. LORD! Then I see DH, who had worn a white t-shirt and jeans. Well the t-shirt and jeans were brown. Apparently some of the lambs decided to be a bit feisty to catch. Jiminey Cricket... So he smells like lamb poo.
Back on the road to take BIL and wife home. Goes off without a problem. YAY! Finally, right? On the way to MIL/FIL's oldest son (12) is made to laugh by oldest daughter (14) and 15-year-old sis-in-law...gets grape water in his *kitten* lungs, chokes, can't breathe, then coughs it up, very loudly EVERYWHERE. So now the van smells like lamb-poop and grape soda. The littles are getting very antsy and loud. We finally make it back to ILs. Unhitch the van, rehitch the lambs to our truck. Load the kids back up, who got out to pee and then started running around the yard like crazy people. Sigh...finally done, drive home. Get home after dark. The van loses traction on the driveway and gets stuck, so I have to back the idiot thing up twice to get it up. We're all starving to death. It's 9:30pm. I'm frantically heating up food like a short-order cook at a diner. DH is unloading the lambs in the dark. I finally get them all to bed. I'm so tired because I didn't sleep well the night before....and then in the middle of the night the lambs start bleating. At 4 and at 5 and at 6 and at 6:30. Then the kids are up slamming the door, running out to see the the dumb *kitten* and being dumb *kitten* about it. Did I mention TOM?
If anyone wonders why I am crazy, this is it. National Lampoon's Homeschool Family Circus...6 -
I will have to seek forgiveness and hope to god I don't get banned, suspended or moderated here.
Because I laughed so much I peed my jeans....2 -

I'm sorry I made you dirty a perfectly good pair of jeans.
I just had to get that out. My life is like that so often. And I got up in a rip-snortin' bad mood this morning. I'm just so tired of the *kitten*. I needed to write it out, so I could see past the hormone-induced-rage to the core of the ridiculous from an angle that actually makes it funny. You just can't make this stuff up. Which I'm forced to say fairly frequently.

@baconslave thanks for taking such great care of us!1

I may get in a walk today but I forgot socks so I'm not sure how far I'll get in these shoes. I'll restart the push-ups challenge next month.
I sort of like the idea of everyone making their own challenges.1 -
@baconslave ---"All of us in the creepy, white 12-passenger van like a redneck clown-car...

Great visuals.. Thanks for the laugh. And here, I thought only my life was like that. Giggle.
I'm joining WW on Wednesday as a buddy to my GF who has lost 45 pounds already, while I've just been treading water. I've done WW before and totally hated it. So why try it again? I think it will bring my accountability back into reality. I'm competitive, so this might be the push I need to keep going. I didn't make my NY's goal to lose 20 by Memorial Day. Not even close. (3 pounds) Uggg. Next goal is 10 pounds 10 weeks.. (August 1st). Again, the short term targets have worked for me in the past because of the challenge.
Pretty rainy here today. I wanted to get my walk in. Maybe, I will just do the floors in the parking garage. Plan B.

As much as is pains me to say this, I'm coming to the realization that I "may" have to eliminate alcohol. Every time I drink, I end up eating a LOT of food I shouldn't. Case in point, Saturday into Sunday.
So I'm starting this week with a few extra pounds from pizza, booze, and dessert...and fasting to make up for the indiscretion. I had every intention of riding my bike yesterday to try to balance out the binge, but nope, I napped on and off all day instead. Granted, lady time is a factor here, but still no excuse. (and no where near as bad as @baconslave 's TOM story...good lord, I feel for you)
Luckily, Mondays are exceptionally active for me. And May in general has been better than April, so I'm determined to finish out this month with a bang.1 -

Me. Too.
I totally cut out alcohol my first 3 months keto and I was crushing it.
If I have a glass of wine...chips suddenly seem like a really good idea.
I guess the good news is, even with slip ups I haven't gained, so if I can rein it in I can continue to lose. 'Cause I still have a way to go.4 -
Sunday I went shopping for most of the day. Felt like exercise to me, so I'm counting it.
Monday I ran 7 miles and then walked for 5 more.
Tuesday will be a rest day for me.2 -
No crazies the past 24hrs. No more than the normal weird anyway.
5/22: 3 short vids for strength. 2 bodyweight and 1 dumbbells. I had evil fatigue yesterday and just wanted to crawl into bed. Not the best strength session ever, but I worked my muscles so that's "mission accomplished."
Rainy rainy. Looks like it might be time for Vader and I to do some more cardio ballet.
2 -
5/22 morning and evening kettle bell workout. Push-ups in the afternoon and walking walking walking!2
-
@baconslave I love your stories lol
5/22 rest day. I had crippling fatigue as in like dozing off at my desk fatigue yesterday so I just vegetated at home.

They closed I-5 and it took me 2 HOURS to get to work today! With the family in tow because the kids have Ped appointments close to my work. Really no point to this other than, I'm giving myself extra points for sticking to plan today. I mean, it's a salami string cheese heavy cream coffee day, but I'm making it work.3

Ugh! Good job staying on-plan despite all that garbage.0 -
Got a mani/pedi today. Feeling so pretty. Also, down a pound! Hoot.
Supposed to go to WW tomorrow. I'm kinda feeling eh about it again. I've got about a 1000 excuses why not to...Got my walk in today. Went to Whole Foods last night. Got cauliflower, spinach, kale, onion, all the good stuff. There veggies are much better than the other grocers in the area. The cost usually turns me away, but I was feeling motivated last night.
@Cadori, I do GPS and all back roads now to get to work. The main expressways are gridlock every morning now. Maybe they are building another lane? LOL3 -
I'm meeting with the trainer at the gym tonight. I've been doing "virtual training" for 4 weeks. Looking forward to seeing what my loss looks like on their scale.3
-
Got in a couple hours of physical activity in the warehouse today. Usually I spend most of my time at my desk, so when I help restock it feels like a workout to me.3
-
13,500 steps today2

5/23:
Danced with Lord Vader again yesterday.
Full Exercise Workout at Home for Women Cardio Exercise No Jumping | 45-Minute Cardio Ball Ballet from Jessica Smith. Sweating everywhere.2 -
5/23: my evening went a little crazy. SIL and daughter had a little car accident and they sadly don't really know how to adult so I had to help handle that. Then this somehow led to me having to park my car uptown, take the damaged truck back to their house, and then walk back uptown to get the car. I also decided to take the toddler with me since the home environment was tense because they were so shaken up. Thankfully everyone was ok and no one was injured! So I'm counting stress, walking uptown in the rain, and wrangling a toddler the rest of the evening my workout!
Today I feel achy like maybe my RA is acting up. We've had some weird weather. Alternating super hot/humid and super rainy and chilly. I'll see how I feel upon returning home from work. Hopefully I'll be up to a Hammer and Chisel workout. I think it's supposed to storm all evening so a trail run is unlikely. I need to work on cleaning up the house too. Hopefully something will be accomplished.2 -
Ran 2.75 miles this morning.2
-
Ran/walked 8 miles this evening when it was starting to cool down into the lower 80's. Just a couple more training runs to go for my upcoming half marathon. Not that I'm counting down the days or anything. (yeah, right!)1
-
5/23 Kettlebell workout and push-ups in the morning. Walked and climbed stairs at the water park all afternoon.1
-
5/24: 3 strength vids for...um....strength training All Jessica Smith.

I met with the trainer on Tuesday, I've been doing more of my own plan rather than their plan but I have still lost 9 lbs and 2% body fat in 4 weeks. I'm really happy with that and will be adding more of their plan over the next 4 weeks to see how much better I can do.1
-
Wow. You guys are really bust'n a move with all the exercise! Lik'n it. Hoot.
It's rainy here again today, so no walky for me. Been doing stairs instead of the elevator tho. So that counts.
Food is on target so far this week. No alcohol too! Seems to be heading in the right direction. Super stressful at work today. Could really use that walk. (more stairs). Mentally feeling a little off my game today. Not enough sleep. I also have my little space heater on here in my office at work. WTF. It's only 50 outside, enough already with the AC.. My nose is dripping it's so cold!!!! Brrr. Leaving early to get under the covers this evening. Can't wait.2 -
@baconslave Can I just say you're my hero! Sorry you had such a craptastic day but honestly i wouldve been locked up in the looney bin or in jail after all that! You are one tough lady (along with funny, helpful, and down to earth). Thanks for sharing! Next time i feel like complaining about my "bad" day , Ill remember this story and put on my big girls pants and handle it2
-
Today was a 2-hr fun exercise session playing xBox kinnect games remotely with my sister. We're so competitive with each other. She usually wins more often than I do, but tonight I pretty much whooped her butt. Yeehaw!3

Does anyone else have a miserable relationship with an ex? Does every exchange have to be an issue?Keep in mind our kiddo is a teenager and this is Memorial day weekend.. No wonder I gained 50 pounds. Errrr..
Anyway, I'm still doing good this week and looking forward to the weekend!2 -
My plan to do a short run today turned into an unplanned rest day. Too hot and windy. I'm going to try for a long run tomorrow morning while it's a relatively cool mid to upper 70's out.1
