May was a wonderful month for the UAC Team. Yesterday, there were so many encouraging reports from those who are in the Winner's Circle and those who had great results without quite making the Circle.
Here are the Team Members to celebrate as May Winner's Circle finalists:
@fightingthetideofaging
@craigo3154
@phoebelayla
@SephiraAllen
@SimonsChange
@pribud
@aeshippers
Congratulations!!8 -
Welcome to all new and renewing team members! We are here to help each other. Please care and share!
@RangerRickL or just, Rick5 -
Welcome to June....Congratulations to everyone that is in the Winners Circle ........woohoo we did it! I am confused as to why I do not see @RangerRickL there! I do not remember seeing you miss or pass 3 days last month.
My goals for June are a little different this month as it is going to be different...lol........My husband is having surgery on June 8th and I am having surgery on June 15th........yes we will both recover and be fine but it will be a little tough for a while.
1. Maintain a positive attitude
2. check in here every day I CAN
3. stay FOCUSSED
4. Lose 2 lbs. (Reach the 25 mark )
5. Winners circle may be out of reach due to exercise but I will challenge myself to be there in my mind for calories and tracking.
Welcome everyone! Looking forward to all the positive, inspiring posts throughout the month......WE CAN DO THIS!7 -
Congratulations to all who made the winner's circle for May.
Welcome to all new and returning team members.
Found today tough going but still made it through.
Exercise: Cycled to work today. Thought I was going to get very wet on my way home as despite there being no rain forecast it threw it down about an hour before I was due to leave. Fortunately this had slowed to a bit of drizzle by the time I left so the ride home was fine.
Tracking: Good
Calories: Only just under and had to forgo any after dinner snacks to make it as I ate too many calories this afternoon.7 -
June 1
Exercised?: Yes. Walked 2.5km+ in 22 minutes (flat - not much opportunity to walk - was getting dark as I walked to a further station after work - Winter it gets dark early).
Calories?: Yes.
Tracked?: Yes.
Goals for this month:
- Be in winners circle (track everything, keep under budget, 20+ mins exercise per day, no more than 3 pass days)
- Lose 2kg (MFP intake set at -0.5kg per week)
- Stay honest (even if it puts me out of the circle for the month) and continue past failings (forgive mistakes and keep moving forward)
- Encourage others where possible
@RangerRickL has been too modest. He is also in the winner circle from last month. From his post May 31 concerning how he did against his goals for the month.RangerRickL wrote: »Mine was:
Do not exceed 2,000 calorie per day, maintenance (I exceeded 2 days). I did maintain.
Track everyday. I did that
Exercise every day. I did that.
Thank you @RangerRickL for running the UAC group for another month. I for one am appreciative.

A big old shout out to everyone WOO HOO!!!!! You did great especially that one in invisible ink
Today's my late day so I slept in and then got up and exercised now I am trying to get a few things done before I get dressed for work. I also packed walking clothes just in case the weather is good I am walking with Kristen at the park. She is I swear a size 0 but she has a great soul and her and I get along great. She has inspired me to do the 5 k . When we talk about walking or exercising it's just like oh I did this or that I mean the girl can run circles around me but everyone is very judgmental about our exercising where we are hmmm.. this is just what we do every day.
@pribud check out exercises for the elderly that you can do sitting for different muscle groups that won't bother you. Not sure what your having done but you could work on quite a few things all from a chair and they are just basic stretching and strengthening. I had gotten my mom an exercise band to use she said it was great she used it as a whip to get my dads attention when he wasn't listening. LOL Not exactly what I had meant but the two of them survived at the time.
Have a great day everyone!!4 -
June 1st - great start, a night out tonight lol .. its fine I shall be having soda water and lime as my drink choice,
Ill fill out my activities here at the end of each evening, as I'm in Scotland it may be one of the latest entries
SW (1st June) 206.8lbs
GW (30th June) 199.8lbs
I'd also love to lose a few inches all over
My goal cals are not to exceed 1800 cals this is what 140lb me should be eating, so I am essentially eating for the body I want
My goal exercise used to be 20 mins 5 times a week .. since starting this group it has been upped to 7 times a week
My logging .. I log my food daily already so that should not be an issue6 -
Should have said "one of the earliest entries" lol
I am currently suffering from mild food poisoning, I thought it was all better today until I ate .. silly me, so my night out is also cancelled ... despite all of that I have managed to get through my day with minimal fuss.
Its just after 8 PM here at the moment I'm logging early tonight as I need to go to bed to try sleep this off
June 1st
Exercised?: Yes. Walked at 2.5 mph for 40 minutes. burning 188 cals
Calories?: Yes. still quite low today as I am ill, cals are under 1200
Tracked?: Yes. every mouthful weighed and measured
good luck everyone else hope today is a success

Hello June!
Well done May winners including the invisible inked leader.
@Slimpossible007 hope you feel much better soon. I'm posting from England so am also usually one of the earliest (apart from when I went awol in May) but we have a Kiwi and Aussie who beat us to it and @2020pinktogo always has an early morning US post! @2020pinktogo - well done for exercising and ignoring the judgemental attitudes. It's so strange people do that!
Exercise: Yes, plenty of hill walking and @MiamiSeoul s June challenges
Tracking: Yes
Calories: Yes.
Phew. 1/1 so far!
Calories:3 -
Alright, it is too early for me to be reporting in claiming that the kitchen is closed.
Never mind that. I will post again in a couple of hours.
I want to say congratulations to all those peeps in the winners circle. Here is me admiring your determination and dedication.
... And... I want to say congratulations and admiration to all of you guys that fell out of bed but kept on reporting in anyway with daily results.
... And... I want to express my admiration to all of you that might be discovering that exercise isn't really a chore but rather the discovering of a path to fun.
Yeah, right, listen to me, the guy who can't pull of the minimum daily requirement of 20 minutes.
Hey, and my gratitude to @craigo3154 for saying positive, positive, positive. I think he said it three times.4 -
Just checking in because we're off to bed and all tired, but I love reading your posts!
Date: June 1
Exercised: Yes, we went out for a walk twice with the stroller plus I cleaned a bit more today, did my 30 day fit challenges and carried baby around (10 kilos!) for at least an hour. He needs 'some' walking around the house to fall asleep
Calories: Yes, I have seven left
Tracked: Yes, even my 'zero calorie' drinks that I never actually scan and add.
Overall a good start. Let's see what tomorrow brings.4 -
@pribud - glad to see you here - well done for not using your surgery as an excuse to drop your healthy habits
@SImpossible007 - hope you're feeling better soon
@2020pinktogo - sorry that people are judgemental about your exercise habits, I know my colleagues call me crazy sometimes when I bike to work and run at lunch but it's said with affection and humour not in a nasty judgemental way and I know they are supportive of my efforts.
@penguinstuff - I know what you mean about the drinks. I drink a lot of herbal / fruit teas and I never logged them before joining this group and some of them can be up to 5 calories a cup.
@RangerRickL - Thank you for running this group for another month - it takes a big commitment to do that and we really appreciate it.5 -
Hi June,
Im kinda late logging in as I feel asleep with the kids. That's one way to stop my late night snacking!
Well done everyone. It's great to read all the posts and see all the stumbling blocks you have overcome. I thought I had it bad with my extra early and rainy start with flashes of passing fudge during the day! That's nothing compared with what some of you guys are going through.
Exercised?: Yes. The only way I can fit this in my day is to get out of bed earlier. This morning it was pouring rain, but I still did it. I accidentally did 5k as I found a new loop. Instead of turning back I kept going and that turned a planned 40min walk into a 50min HIIT run/walk. So I completed a walk with some running and got home nice and sweaty and soaking wet.
Calories?: Yes. I had made fudge for a family event this Sat. I managed to avoid most of it while packing it up.
Tracked?: Yes, every mouthful, even the sneeky fudge.

Good evening all and happy first of the month! I'm pumped and excited!!! I weighed in this morning at 139.0 lbs. Julian got me right in the month of May . This month I will be completing another one of her programs--Kickbox Fastfix, along with running. I will be more detailed in my workouts and eating habits starting Monday. As others have stated I too need more assistance and moral support with what I eat rather than the workouts. I'm happy to start this journey with all of you! Cheers

budget yes
exercise - epic
Kitchen is closed. Last thing I consume for the day is an 8oz glass of water with a spoon of psyllium fiber stirred into it. That gives me a full feeling and helps with a concise evacuation in the morning. Goal - be regular, er habitual, with that in June.
Here is to having June off on the right foot.
This morning's exercise was a repeat of Tuesday's 4,000 foot climb. Only I wasn't as strong or as ambitious. I still got some PRs though. Mostly on descent. I did get a couple on climb segments.
I am not very fast climbing. Sometimes runners pass me. 8 min/mile runners pass me easily but those kind of runners are rare on climbs. A couple of weeks ago I paced a trail runner that was working for 10 minute miles. I couldn't match him. Attempting to got me a handful of PRs though. I talked to that guy at the parking lot later. I whined about being slower climbing on bike than a runner. He was kind of gracious or conciliatory and told me that the bike was a 30 pound handicap over a runner on heavy climb. I liked hearing that from a runner.
I seen a bunch of deer. I didn't try to get pictures. They didn't really run from me. I am going to have to teach them to run or they are going to end up on a dinner table.
But I figured out something with fitness trackers. Duh, my smartphone has GPS. Put the app in there called Strava and it kind of eliminates my need for GPS watch. And it is better because it has a little map that shows my position on the route. Heh, who knew? Probably everyone but me. Oh well.

Congratulations to all the May winners! I'm pumped for this month and have started off well so far!
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes, a 28-minute walk in the Florida heat during my lunch break. Took me twice as long to cool down!
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes, just under 1200 calories.
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes, even water!
We're expecting more thunderstorms here off and on tomorrow (in the middle of one right now), so I might have to trade a walk for something active indoors.5 -
