I see WalMart.com does not have them now but a few were still on Amazon. $20 a pound and high calories hurt my taste for them in general about a year ago. :(

Well that's a total bummer @RalfLott! Sorry to hear this! Any Sprouts in your area? If not, maybe try buying bulk online like at https://nuts.com/ ...?

Locally I still find Cello Whisps at Walmart hit and miss. Expensive 300 calories but keep some in the car and they have saved me over and over.

Yeah, I bought them at Walmart once, but they are much more expensive for such a small bag. But great in a pinch.
Walmart has a few different varieties as well.

Nuts! (... and whisps..) I bought a case of the latter when they were on sale earlier this year and haven't checked to see if they've also become obsolete.

That makes a hat trick, with the big bags of dried broccoli florets also having vanished.

The nearest Costco finally got the big jars of Wildbrine Sauerkraut, so at least it hasn't been a shutout.

Interesting my Costco recently added two other lines of macadamia nuts, one is honey roasted, so I don't do that but the other is roasted with seasalt and I have been buying that one. They also still have the Kirkland in the round container.

So far, Whisps are still stocked, maybe I should stock up on those? Of course I can make them if needs be.

    Sorry you all are suffering.

Brazil nuts are 1/2 cost of macadamia and come raw. They got better stats in my opinion. Check em out.

Brazil nuts are pretty high in selenium (which is good for the thyroid) so just be careful you don't overdose. Price of the fresh Brazil Nuts has jumped by a huge percentage this growing season. Quote from the wholesale suppliers I order from:
As predicted, the price of Brazil nuts has risen dramatically after low rainfall followed a poor flowering season, which hit production hard, resulting in a harvest 40% to 50% lower than last season, which was already reeling from a decrease over previous years. The situation is extremely challenging for the families in these remote rainforest communities who depend on the harvest for their living. We’re fortunate to have a solid relationship with our Peruvian suppliers, who are still able to supply us with quality Brazil nuts again this year, albeit at a much higher price.
They also state that pistachios are a bumper crop this year, so if you like them.... and organic hemp seeds, since Canadian growers just added 3000 more acres of certified organic farmland this year. https://ranchovignola.com/about.php Sorry, I think it's 'Canadians only' ordering.
New crop is just coming in at the beginning of November - I usually buy $500 worth of the fresh nuts (mainly Brazils, Macs, Walnuts, Pecans) and keep them in the cold room until they are gone. If I'm careful the bags last about 8 months :/ I may just have to spend more :o .

I find Costco here is very random- except for processed crap foods. One week they'll have items I want, then they will never be seen again. I don't bother with Costco anymore, but then again I seem to get better prices and more local foods at my independent (local family owned) grocery store (unless I want to buy a case of crap food, lol).

I just restocked on hundred percent chocolate bars and they're up 30%. I read there was a shortage of the beans.

Ghana (#2 producer worldwide) had a huge drop in yield from bad weather and there is a problem with fungus in most areas due to a very limited cloned gene pool of commercially grown cocoa varieties.
Interesting article from Costa Rica where there is an International Cocoa Collection working on improving the plants and diversifying the varieties. https://nytimes.com/2017/09/25/science/cacao-fungus-chocolate.html

Woo hoo! How much are the roasted ones with sea salt?

The only ones left where I go are coated in rat poison... :/

Don't have a current receipt here, I have to go to Costco in the next couple of days, will be getting more and can update you on pricing.

Honestly, I'll pay whatever for some things and macadamias and cacao powder would be at the top of the list. With Kerrygold right behind them B)

For our 100% cacao fan, a couple weeks ago on Amazon, I was able to order Paschal 100% chocolate chips, about $50 for a 6 ct case of 8oz bags. check it out. 21mgywtq3oww.png

I love the Pascha 100% chips to make my own trail mix. I use almonds or any other of your favorite nuts, with the chips, or add golden rasins if I want sweetness. Good with almonds, macadamias, pecans, pistachios, cashews, pic your fave!

Reasonably close, but last time I checked, they were a bit pricier than Costco. I am running low on $2 3 Chuck, though!

I'm in Colorado, I bought the 24 oz. bag of Royal Hawaiian sea salt macadamias for $14.99 today.
Ingredients are: macadamia nuts, sea salt, and macadamia oil. 28 grams serve is 200 cals. with 4 g carbs, 2 grams fiber and 1 gram sugar. From the nuts not added if the list of ingredients is correct. Personally, I think they are worth every penny I pay for them.

They had another kind there as well but it was not the Kirkland Signature ones. They were higher priced and had junk added to them, like cane sugar. UGH. I think the brand was Moana Loa.

You should limit the amount of Brazil nuts you eat a day due to the high selenium content. They are also high in radium. A few a day are good but you shouldn't eat handfuls of them.

Are these Cello Whisps really as great as everyone says they are? I have yet to find them. All I've seen are Moon Cheese, which are good! But expensive as well.

I personally like the Whisps better than the Moon cheese but have only tried the parmesan ones which were a little strong. I enjoyed using them as croutons on a salad for that crunch factor.

They're great - Costco has already run a couple good promotions for them (~33% discounts), so the can be gotten for a more reasonable price.

Like Macadamias, the trick, I think, is to eat them sparingly when you need something small and light to tide you over!

@LolaDeeDaisy23 I fear I'm the only person who doesn't like Whisps (or any Parmesan crisp for that matter). They upset my stomach. Interestingly enough I can eat Parmesan cheese all day long but baked into a crisp and it changes. it's heavy and greasy and I just don't enjoy them. That said, EVERYBODY else loves them so give them a go.

I might need to try the Whisps.

Also, whatever happened to the Quest-like Kirkland protein bars? Are those gone as well? I'm not a Costco member (Sam's club though) but had ordered them online in the past.

My Costco is great about meeting requests for new items or ones that they've sold-out of. Talk to the customer service desk, they'll probably order more if you put in a request.
