Lost one lb last month, but a lb down is not a lb up...so psychologically, I'm going to count that as 2!
What I've observed:
Structure makes it easier. In the evenings, there is far less structure and that's when I begin to wander off my plan.
Social isolation makes it harder. No one in the family is committed to fitness/weight loss and I think I need to find more social support. I hate group classes with the passion of a thousand suns, but I need to investigate something noncompetitive and reaffirming at my gym.
New development: 8-week weight loss competition at my gym started on Monday. Also, I joined the Figure and Bikini Competition FB page. I don't think competition is a mad goal of mine, but what diet and exercise can do for a woman's body is pretty astounding.
Have a great month everyone. Feel free to friend me!5 -

First post, but I’ve been lurking for about a month. I sprained my ankle in December so had to put a freeze on my Barre membership which begins again on 2/6. My goal was to maintain and not put on any winter/holiday weight which I have achieved! My ultimate goal is to lose 8 more pounds by June.

So I sort of disappeared around the Christmas period and didn't want to come back in January which was crazy because I actually did very well in weightloss last month. I gained a bit over Christmas but I'm now back to where I was in November and still determined to get a trend weight of under 130lbs but under 131 would suit me this month, I'm taking it nice and slow this year.

My goals are more fitness-oriented at this point. Throughout all of January, I worked my abs & booty. I am finally starting to see some abs, gotta keep that going! This month marks 12 weeks post-accident, so my shoulder should be healed enough to begin working upper body again. I will just have to go slow and listen to my body’s cues.
Speaking of, I have a titled pelvis which has been causing a lot of lower back pain. My chiropractor wants me to get an x-ray to see how bad it is, yayyyy.5 -

I made my January weight goal! I still need to work on not snacking after dinner. This will be especially important next week for my Wednesday weigh-in. My body seems very comfortable at 160, and it takes a lot to crack that number. I’m hoping for a 1lb weight loss next week, and looking to be at 157 by the end of February!

I think January has taught myself to be patient, that although the scale isn't going down- I'm still losing weight.
What I've learned is that even if I plateau for 3-4 weeks my body is still changing for the better if I stick to the plan, because eventually the results will show.
My game plan for February is to still focus in on good eating habits but maybe introduce workouts maybe 1-2 times a week (it may not seem a lot but considering the fact I'm really lazy it is haha)
Alright ladies, for February lets work hard towards our goals! I know that we can do it! And just take it 1 pound at a time (:3 -

January was much more successful than I dared to hope, I also learned a lot about nutrition, macros and exercises. CICO and IIFYM in combination with running seem to do a great job, so I'll definitely stick with it.
I don't have a weight loss goal for February (as long as I don't gain), rather a fat loss one, as far as my home scale permits accurate measurement.

@WallyAmadeus , structure and accountability are what I struggle with the most. MFP community has been a huge help, and having a lot of MFP friends liking and cheering on your updates definitely keeps me going.
Meal prepping or at least menu planning can help with evenings/weekends. Also not keeping anything that may throw you off course in the house.
You can do it! We're in it together, so shout out when you need some extra motivation or struggle with something.4 -
Woo! Bring on February! January was an interesting experiment in terms of implementing a workable structure with Real Life that doesn't feel like deprivation... and while it's still a WIP for sure at least I have a more informed idea of trends, and can better manage my own expectations...

I'm just under 5'6" or about 166cm.
HW: 141.6# (That would be today)

My goals for Feb:
3 meals a day, no sweets, no snacks, no seconds, no alcohol.
Some kind of activity that counts as exercise each day. (Not sure what that will be each day.)

My last weigh-in in January was the 30th, so I reweighed today to start the month and am down a half pound! I love fluctuations! It'd be nice to break into the 150's this month but I'm not sure if that's realistic quite yet. Good luck everyone!

Welcome to February everyone! The days are starting to feel a little bit longer so that's a plus. I've been working through things ever since the Christmas break and I'm making progress. Still not quite back in the groove but I'm moving towards it and that's all that counts!

Hey everyone! I've had a very stressful couple of weeks, I feel I'm barely holding on. I've been putting a lot of pressure on myself for an upcoming deadline, Feb 11. I love this group though, it helps to just write down what I'm going through.
Outside of school stress, I have also been annoyed at my weight. My trend weight went up over a pound in January. I've been eating around 1850 calories / day, and not eating back exercise calories. I'm still figuring out this whole maintenance thing, but I really think 1850 is slightly below maintenance calories for me. The good news is that I *finally* got my period, so I'm expecting a big whoosh on the scale.

Hi. New to this group. I'm 5'8" and 140 lbs Goal weight is 132-135. BUT I'm 47. I work 5-7 hours per week but as I've gotten older, for sure my body doesn't respond or recover the same way to workouts as it used to. And I'm searching for the right "lifestyle" to shed those few lbs. we don't eat a ton of processed foods or wheat/rice. I've lost weight in the past tracking macros. Like a Nazi. I wasn't very much fun I'm considering trying Atkins Mostly low carb but not as strict with the fat intake as Keto? Anyone have success at that? Anyone my age struggling with not being overweight and still being healthy but wanting to lose those vanity lbs? please add me!!4

Struggles/success: I am really glad that January is over. I am struggling with my dinner calories and a few licks and bites. I am still under my allotted calories but not as much as I need to be. I had an MRI yesterday and am hopeful that regardless of the results, I will emerge with a plan to alleviate the knee pain and eventually get back on track. I have been good about getting my cardio burn on with elliptical and incline walking but still hate it and miss running with a passion.4 -

Yes. I’m 47, and pretty much your twin. 5’6” 143lbs striving for 135 and those 8lbs are Vanity pounds. I’ve had success with intermittent fasting 16/8, but due to an injury had to take month off working out (barre). I go back next week. I’m trying to be patient but have been stuck at 143 since September. I have given myself a goal of 135 by June. Slow and steady wins the race.2 -

HI everyone!
5'5'
HW 155 lbs (that I know of,I think it was closer to 160 lbs this time last year.)
GW: 115 lbs - yes I want to be back to my 20-year-old weight. We will see.
January was quite successful, my goal was 149 lbs and I dipped under that. Lost close to 9 lbs since 26 of Dec. But now I reached another freaking plateau this week. It must be related to TOM, right? I have like 10 days before the witch arrives. I am just concerned I am miscalculating calories. I need to exercise more to not creep over 1200. I so want to be at least 125 lbs by May, but not sure this is at all possible.
