    Hello. I'm 5'5. I was banded in 2011.

I got down to 220, but made the mistake of starting gabapentin for pain. I'll deal with the pain. I'm NOT happy with the weight regain. Considering a revision to VSG, but the doc doesn't think it would help me overly much since I'm still losing with the band, just never got any lower than 220.

March 16 is my 3 year Surgiversary so I thought it might be a good time to update my stats. BTW, my real name is James. I'm an SDSU alum hence the MFP name. I'm 5'10" and I'll turn 46 on Sunday. I'm a San Diego native and currently live in San Luis Obispo, California (America's Happiest City)

My New Year's resolution was not to weigh myself this year unless I feel I've lost or gained a significant amount. My clothes fit pretty much the same so I haven't weighed. For a detailed look at my weight loss progress you can see it at link below. I lost about 165lbs in the year after meeting my surgeon. Other than when I gained a few pounds while battling shingles in Oct/Nov 2016 I haven't had any significant weight regain. I started tracking on trendweight.com when I met surgeon.

    https://trendweight.com/u/366d57a9670d41/

As the months and now years have passed since VSG I'm less concerned about the scale and just try to live a healthy, happy life on a day to day basis. I've really tried to educate myself these past few years about WLS, food, exercise, and how it all interacts with my body. I don't track calories but try to limit highly processed foods. I exercise moderately most days. I'm currently at a size I haven't been since high school. And I'm doing stuff fitness-wise I would have never dreamed a few years ago. I'll be running my second Half-Marathon on my birthday and first FULL MARATHON six weeks later.

WLS has been a Godsend for me. I'm ALWAYS interested in giving and getting support from other bariatric patients and from anyone for that matter. I'm on an incredible, wonderful life journey that I hope lasts another 50 years or so.

    Hello! Sleeved August 2016.

    HW 293
    SW 287
    LW 193
CW 210 (haven't gotten weighed in several weeks)

Had a weight gain while my wife was pregnant and we were traveling 120-130 miles round trip twice (or more) a week to see the doctors (high risk pregnancy), then two weeks straight while the little guy was in the NICU. All that hospital food & gas station food did me no favors! Rolling back down and looking forward to hitting my goal weight of 173/174.

Weight loss surgery was a true blessing. Not only is my health better, my wife and I were able to conceive and I now have a healthy 7-month old baby boy who has stolen my heart (my first child, I have two stepdaughters that I have raised). I'm no longer the last of my name. Most of all, I hope that the surgery has helped me prolong my life so that I will get to see my little boy grow up and become a man along with my two girls (currently 13 and 16).

    Hello Bariatric Friends,
    I had my RNY 06/07/17
    HW 287
    SW 254
    CW 208
    GW 160

My weight loss has stalled so I am back on MFP to start logging my food and exercise again. My nutritionist has me on 1200 calories a day, low carb. I am able to exercise by swimming laps 3 days a week for 45 minutes which is a slow half mile. I will be 64 in June. I had to loose the weight because I was having such crippling back pain I was bedbound for almost 3 years. I could not walk or even stand for more then 2 or 3 minutes. I had previous back issues but adding in the extra weight made my life miserable. It was probably even more so for my dear husband of 40 years who had to take on all the shopping, cooking, dishes and laundry, and work full time! But he never complained, even though I know he is thankful that I can do more for myself now and lend a hand with some of the house chores. Well I will appreciate any tips or encouragement you all can give me. It will be good to find some friends struggling with similar issues that can share their wisdom!

I had my VSG on 2/19/18
I used to wear 3x-4x tops and 26 pants
I am currently wearing Xl - 2X tops depending on the style and size 20 pants
I joined the YMCA and am walking and exercising 2-3 days a week. I have also just recently started doing workout videos at home on the other days so I hope this will help with muscle tone, flexibility, and strength. I actually just brought my balance ball to work today to use as my desk chair and love it!
    I eat approximately 1000- 1100 calories a day.

  • I'm Lynn and I am 66 years old. My highest weight was 331 lbs right before I started the Bariatric program. I thought I was 5'3" but as it turns out, I've shrunk. I am now 5'1 & 3/4". Guess that's what happens when you put all that weight on your spinal column. I had a Roux en Y Gastric Bypass on Oct. 17th, 2017 so I'm almost 7 months out. At the time of surgery, I was down to 279 lbs. I now weigh (or I did on 5/4/2018 and I weigh only 1 time per week or I get obsessive about it) 199.8. ONEDERLAND!!!! So I've lost 131.2 lbs altogether and 79.2 lbs since surgery. That amazes me. So wish I'd been able to do this so many years ago. I feel better, my arthritis is a lot better and moving is so much easier!

I just realized this was here....

I'll have my gastric bypass 5/16/2017.-- In Kansas City, Missouri, at St. Luke's Health System
    start weight, 10/3/16- 313
    weigh currently: 275
I'm sure I'll lose on the pre-op diet.
shoe size between 7 1/2 & 8 depending on the shoe.
3XL shirts... down to 2XL now
I stopped paying attention to the numbers on my pants ages ago. I know my jeans are falling off my behind.

Thought I would update on my one-year surgiversary. :)
    Current weight: 143
    Current tops: small/medium
    Current bottoms: 6/8
    Shoe size: 7-7.5

This last year has been so awesome, there have been ups and downs, but overall, it has been an awesome journey!!

Just trying to figure out maintenance, as I truly do NOT want to get any smaller, I would like to maintain between 145 & 150.
