Count me in! I started keto in February but I've been doing mostly lazy keto - sticking to only keto-approved foods but not necessarily logging everything I put in my mouth. So for April, I'm sticking more strictly to the plan!

April goal - 8 pounds down (April GW 187)

    SW 215
    CW 195
GW 150 (that may change as I see how my new body looks in this journey. I'm already loving the first phase of weight loss!)

    Good luck everyone!!

I've been doing Keto since February 25th and have lost 14 pounds as of March 31st. I'm really happy to be in the 250's again and to have left my highest weight of 272 behind. I was sick with a spring cold for half of February but still managed to power through with Keto diet but couldn't exercise like I wanted.

This month, my plan is to walk, walk, and then do some more walking. Lets go!

I’ve got a new challenge for anyone interested. Before offering the challenge, I must admit that I’m a little obsessive compulsive (OCD) about checking my macros daily. I log my food daily and after logging I hit the nutrition tab at the end of my food diary to see if my food intake is close to my macros of 5% carbs, 20% protein and 75% fat.

My challenge to those of you that are macro OCD like me is to be intuitive for one whole week. In other words, don’t measure, log, calculate or fret about what you eat for one whole week. Instead, do what you intuitively know is right for you without all of the OCD logging and checking behaviors.

For me that doesn’t count weighing daily. Weighing daily for me is just an indication I’m doing what I know is right for me. The challenge I’m proposing is to not be OCD about logging food. Just trust yourself to eat right for you, eat only when you’re hungry, fast naturally instead of by your watch and basically give up any OCD food logging/tracking behaviors you have for one week.

We’ll call this the “Intuitive Eating Challenge”. Who is in it for one week starting Sunday, 1 April?

    @rae1388:
My go to food prep is pulled pork cooked in my InstaPot. An InstaPot is a fancy pressure cooker that works magic on preparing food fast and easy. I usually cook an 8-10 pound bone in pork shoulder in my InstaPot. It only takes 40 minutes cooking time!!!! There is a little more prep and packaging time involved but cooking that much meat in 40 minutes is just short of a miracle.

Here’s what I get: I usually get 4 to 5 two pound containers of pulled pork. I keep one in the frig to use that week and put the others in the freezer for future weeks. In addition, I get two 8-ounce jars of pork broth that I use for soups, steaming veggies or any application where you use bone broth. The pork broth you get from cooking pork shoulder in an InstaPot is remarkable. It is saltly and gelatinous and pure pork goodness. And finally, I use a fat separator to get an 8-ounce jar of pure pork fat. I use the pork fat for cooking almost everything I fry or sauté.

To me pulled pork is definitely the “Other White Meat”. I use it in wraps, soups, salads or eat it just as is. I especially love to crisp it up using the pork fat I render off during the initial cooking process. Crispy pulled pork makes Carnitas as good as any restaurant.
Sorry to go on and on but as you may guess; I <3 keto, I <3 eating fat and I <3 my pulled pork

I LOVE my Instant Pot!! It lives on my counter. I broil my pork chunks in the oven afterwards to get that bark. LOVE IT!!

Hi, gang! I'm in for another month (and however many months it takes me to get to my goal)! My loss has been slow but steady. Only lost 3.5 pounds last month, but I'll take that over nothing or gaining more. I don't think of keto as a diet, it's a different way of eating. The best part is, I'm not hungry! Here's to another month!

I stepped on my Tanita scale this morning and it said I lost 15 pounds, 10% of my body fat, gained 25 pounds of pure muscle and my chronological age was 18…… APRIL FOOLS. I actually only lost 1 pound by weighing in at 168.0.

My goal for April is 5 pounds, counting the one today, even though 6 of those days were in March. Five pounds will be an average of one pound per week, as there are 5 Sundays in April this year. In addition, I have other goals for April:

    1. To “Eat Intuitively” at least the first week of April. That means no logging , tracking and worrying about food for a week. I aim to eat what I feel is right macros and amount, eat only when hungry, stop when full and fast naturally between eating windows.

    2. I’m going to work on doing 8 no kidding, CLEAN pull ups. With the help and inspiration from some of our thread’s members I think I’ve figured out how to post proof.

Last month was my first month on Keto. I didn't reach my goal but I lost 8.1 lbs and I consider that a big win. It took me that month to learn what it is to be in the state of ketosis, though I'm sure there is more to know. I fell out of ketosis once and it took about 5 days to get back in it. I have been using the keto strips to help gauge what is going on - I think they are a useful tool in the beginning. All of my friends know that I am eating Keto and it's been a huge help to let them know what I'm doing. I find that most people are really interested and have thought of doing low carb eating. My neighbors, who were doing Keto, got back into it and we have since had several dinners together. My goal for this month is a solid 10lb loss. I adore this group and I look forward to everyone's progress. Welcome to all the new folks. If you stick with it, it works!

    Highest - 195'ish
    Start - 02/28 - 183.5

    Sunday 04/01 - 175.4
    Sunday 04/08
    Sunday 04/15
    Sunday 04/22
    Sunday 04/29

    Goal - 04/29 - 165

HAPPY EASTER!!!!!!!!! I'm having such a great day! We just hosted family over for dinner. Food was delicious! I ate small amounts of ALL the things. If you know me, you know I make the decisions and NO REGRETS!

@stormywxs288 I'll join your 1 week challenge. I'm logging nothing until next Sunday. I did this recently and it was a bust, but I'm always up for a challenge.

Don't be too hard on yourself. Stick to it - if you keep going, those 4 lbs will turn into 40 lbs. Heck, it's no failure to enjoy your lifestyle AND lose an average of 1 lb per week!
