I (re)started keto/low carb after a long hiatus. Worked well for me before, but I surprisingly enough hamburgers, french fries and soft drinks are not a suitable maintenance program! I started up a couple of weeks ago, and my appetite has leveled off so I'm at a good place now and no longer experiencing the constant hunger I do with carbs. I'm setting modest goals for weight loss, and trying to focus on meal planning and exercise.
Current Weight 200.2

welcome to everyone for June! Feel free to post your thoughts, successes and 'failures' here. A word on 'failures' we don't have them!! We may sometimes eat or drink stuff we regret later but the trick is moving on from that, not beating ourselves up and thinking 'I broke that, WTH, I'll go on breaking it'. It's thinking: 'I'll fix that and moving on'.2

June is here! Of course I’ll be checking in Sunday, 3 June, for our first weigh in, but I couldn’t wait to tell you my latest Non-Scale Victory (NSV). Today my computer sent me a notification suggesting I change my picture because it has made me use my pin instead of facial recognition to log on lately. My initial thought was maybe my computer is confused when I have my reading glasses on when I attempt to log in. However, I always wear my reading glasses when I log in and the facial recognition problem is a fairly recent occurrence.
Then, I looked at the photo ID badge I have for the place I do volunteer work. Comparing my photo ID image to what I see in the mirror, I can see why my computer is confused. There was a drastic difference between what I look like now and what I looked like years ago when I took my volunteer picture. Anyway, I’ve now updated my facial recognition photo. My computer is happy computer and so am.

Priceless @stormywxs288 !
And LOL @jheye. That maintenance plan wouldn't work for me either. You're not alone.1 -
Not sure what my goal will be for June but I am definitely going to try to be in my low 170s!
The past week has been a little bit mentally rough for me. I have been doing my strict diet and I have NOT cheated at all and I gained 1.6 lbs. I was so excited that I reached the greatest weight loss on 5/28/18 which was at 180.4 and the next day I was up to 182.6. I was SHOCKED but I didn't give up or cheat. I kept on my diet plan and this AM I am at 182...
This is total BS !!! Today I am starting another Keto Meal plan . I wanted to loose another 5-10 lbs by 6/9/18 which is in another 8 days, I am really not sure if that is going to be doable at this rate ... Don't get me wrong I am happy that I have dropped 15 lbs since 5/2 which has been 30 days but I was really hoping it would've been more... I am going on vacation on 6/9/18 and my birthday is the week after that which I really want to be in the low 170s... Cross your fingers with me , I will keep ya posted!!!

@PeaceQT18 : By my calculation it seems you’ve lost over 15 pounds in a month. That works out to be almost 4 pounds a week. In my experience with keto I lost tons of weight the first few weeks too. Can’t explain why and won’t attempt to but that seems to be a common occurrence with keto newbies. After the initial weight loss your body becomes fat adapted (uses fat instead of carbs) and the weight loss drops off or in some cases even gains happen.
Here’s the good news though! If you stay within your macros and keep your calories slightly restricted you should start to lose again. You will most likely never have the success that happened in those early keto weeks, but you will start losing gradually. And your memory will improve, your skin, nails and hair will be healthier, your clothes will fit better, your joints will feel normal again, and people will start asking you what you are doing to look so much healthier.
So, hang in there! The best days are yet to come. We are all looking forward to hear about your success.

I am SO ready for June. I am a little wary because I felt that I was SO ready for May.... and then life happened. I had some really good days, but overall personally, May was not a good month (raising teenage girls is hard!!) In May, I lost almost 5 lbs, only to gain some, with a net loss of virtually nothing. (.5 lb) Time to get back into the gym, really think about what I eat, plan ahead and quit messing around!
It is a new month, and it is just about summertime!

@KristinLeeD IMO not gaining in a month is fine, it takes time and acceptance of life happening to loose weight and sustain it. The really important thing is you didn't gain some weight, throw in the towel and give it all up. That for me is key and progress!3

I did it! I promised photos after 100 lbs lost, or 1 year keto-versary - whichever came first. So here you are... this is from 50 weeks keto/intermittent fasting, and diligently logging into MFP/measuring meals.
(The "after" photos are actually from 86 lbs lost and 95 lbs lost, but I was not feeling photogenic today so they are close enough, haha!)

@River Goddess: One hundred pounds in less than a year! You are incredible! You are a big reason I heart this forum. Stories like yours are so inspiring to me. I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve wanted to give it all up and go back to my old bad habits, then I see a post like yours. One hundred pounds in 50 weeks! That’s an average of 2 pounds per week for just shy of a year.
We are so lucky to have you on this thread. We are so blessed that you have shared your relentless, determined attack on 100 pounds with our group. You are without a doubt, no contest, one of my most credible sources of inspiration. You walk the walk, you don’t just tell us how keto is done, you show us. Thanks for being such a great keto example and BTW you are beautiful.

Thank you @stormywxs288, your kind words mean a lot to me It has been really nice seeing you get involved and learn and have many of your own successes as well. You're doing so great
I have about 35 more pounds to lose, then of course some toning. I will always have some extra sag in my arms, legs and belly. I accept that.
This past week I really didn't feel like logging. I was eating well enough but just didn't feel like weighing and measuring every bite and being glued to my phone app all day. I find it's cyclical for me... I will have 4 or 5 strong weeks, and then I will have a week or two of minor struggles. Then I'll get re-inspired and have another good strong streak. I very rarely break keto, but every 3 or 4 months I'll take a weekend off of measuring and logging... the key is giving myself permission for a brief window (say 1 to 3 days) of TRULY RELAXING, and then getting back to the logging game no matter what...
Speaking of such... I will start logging again tomorrow3 -
Wow! Now that's a beautiful transformation! Thank you for sharing an incredible achievement!0
-
@River_Goddess OMG that's amazing!!!!! You look fantastic and I actually don't see why you think you have more weight to loose and certainly not 35 pounds!! All I need now is to be able to look as beautiful as you do but I think I would need to put the clock back toooooo many years and also I never looked that stunning! Well done and congratulations!0

Yeah! I think that's the 30 pounds I've lost staying gone as I haven't been above 154 since April so that usually means, for me, that I've said goodbye to that weight and I now face the struggle to get down under 150 and staying there which may take me another two months but frankly I don't care. It took me a while to gain the weight and I'm feeling good in my clothes so anything else I loose is a bonus and what I want to do is avoid going over 154 again while being on holiday over the next three weeks. In fact I'm not sure I'll be posting my weight again in June as we are away until 25th, so to anticipate, July here I come!!3 -

After having a house warming party and drinking A LOT and eating a lot I’m surprised the scale read 213.5 morning. I was expecting way more. Phew! June weight goal is 200. I was wanting to reach 205 by next week Monday when I leave for Japan as my goal but I may not make it.
Anyone had stalls before and what did y’all do to get over them? As a teacher, I don’t go back to work till the first week of August so I have time to try things.
I currently go to the gym 6x a week and take preworkout as my only supplement.

Good morning! Lowest weight since 2008! Only two years ago, I was diabetic, hypertensive, and giving up, but after getting to 360 lbs, I couldn't stand to be that way anymore. Now that I've found keto, I'm losing faster than I could ever imagine! So happy right now!

Starting June off going the wrong direction. Weighed in at 162.4 giving me a 5.6 pound gain for the week. I could be depressed, but instead I choose to view this a fancy zig-zag step in my version of the keto cha cha cha. It has been 48.6 steps forward and only 6.6 steps back. This is only the third week I’ve recorded a gain in my 21 weeks of keto.
This zig-zag step will provide me motivation to start a new losing streak. It is back to the basics for me! MFP logging, macro management and reasonable calorie restrictions are in. Blizardfan.com registration, Fat Burger punch card and Gold Status Starbucks card are out.
Seriously, I’ve been slacking off for two weeks. I want to make June a solid keto month. I’m not setting any weight goals, but I am setting performance goals. I’m going to be intentional about my eating. I will log and consume keto compliant foods. I’m going to exercise 5 day/week in June. I’m going to play hard on my 65+ softball team twice each week. And I’m going to continue doing the keto cha cha, hopefully minus the fancy zig-zag back steps!

New at this but learning fast. Planning Chinese takeout w/DH tonight and realized I won't be able to eat many of my old standards. It will still be tasty though and getting healthy will be even tastier.
