Trying to psych myself up to do an OWS after work.1 -
pool still too hot - got to listen to lot more excuses about how they can't change the temperature that easily - 4 years now! 4 years they have been told during summer that the pool is too hot!

Today's swim felt like it was through molasses. Didn't make it to the pool before masters swim started. And the lake I swim in is experiencing a fish die off and smells rancid, so no OWS for me tonight. Bah.

4 miles last night. Been a while since i got in the pool 5 days in a row. 20 miles total so far this week. Shooting for 7 days in a row. Then maybe just archery archery on Saturday.0

Fell 5 miles into my 8 mile long run this weekend and skinned my knee. Took Tuesday off from the pool because my knee was oozing. Went swimming today and the pool sloffed off my scab, bah. I'm frustrated because open swim season started Tuesday and I'm going to wait a little longer to get in the lake
Also, signed up for an aquabike at the end of July on a whim - it's half ironman length, so 1.2 mile swim and a 56 mile bike. One of my hesitations for committing to half ironman is that I'm not sure I can get through the swim in the time limit. This aquabike is cheap ($60), so if I don't make it through the swim, I'll know I need to radically shake up my swim training. And if I do make it, then I'll be more confident in training for a half ironman next year.

I’ve been fighting a summer cold and giving myself a few days off. Went yesterday at the last minute (I keep my swim pack in my car, just in case) and had a great swim-finally!! 1.5 mi in a little over an hour.2
