This is my fifth month doing this challenge. I am down 80 lbs. I want to lose another 80. June was a maintenance month for me. My mom passed away, after a 5 year battle with lung, brain, and adrenal gland cancer Staying under calories wasn't a priority. I made sure to lose any weight I gained. July is a fresh month. I'm slowly learning to live without my mom. She taught me everything, except how to live without her. I have a special needs, little boy. He is why I am trying to get healthy. I do not want to leave him alone in this world. I am a brittle diabetic so losing weight is a necessity. I want to set good examples for him. He starts Kindergarten in September. I do not want him made fun of because his mom is fat. I used to teach, and hope to eventually do that again now that my son will be in school full days.
I love new friends, so if you would like an active, supportive friend you're welcome to add me. I do have my rough days, but I always get back up.7 -
Fifth month here to. June was a setback, but I still has my eyes on next summer.
We have 2 and 4 kids every second week, and one of them is really demanding, so I try to be consisten, but it's not always easy.

This will be my fifth month also! I've been having good weeks and bad weeks but managing to lose something every month, so far. I'm down 45 lbs since starting in January and still have a lot to lose...just under 100 lbs. I have many reasons for wanting to lose the weight like health and lifestyle but my biggest is my son...he is 3.5 yrs old and has spastic quad cerebral palsy. He is non verbal and non mobile (although he can roll around and scoot himself while laying down lol it's pretty cute) so I need to be physically and emotionally strong to see to his needs as he grows.
During July my son and I are headed to my mom's on vacation for 2 weeks! I'm pretty excited and nervous, first time flying with him and it's cross country. We live in Newfoundland Canada and she's in British Columbia. I will definitely still be trying my best to keep to the challenge but I may not be around as much.
I hope everyone has an amazing July and we all reach our goals!
Feel free to add me6 -
Hi, im Rob and this is my first month I have only just started getting into the mfp forums and challenges. I spend a lot of time on the road which hasnt helped my weight. I have set a goal to complete the biggest endurance event to date in March of next year. losing as much as I can will help me reach that goal.
so its good luck to team-run-track and heres to a good july.
please feel free to add me3 -
Hi I'm Juniper. I attempted this challenge last year but shortly after starting my fil had a stroke and I was focused on him and my mil at that time, thankfully after months in the hospital he is home now but gets help from a caregiver. I'm doing this challenge now because I have let my weight go this past year and I want to get back on track and be a healthier version of myself. I look forward to sharing this journey with you all and getting to know you. Good luck to all of us!!! Feel free to add me as well.3

@daloverlyme I'm so sorry to hear of your loss, I think it's very admirable that you're trying to get back on track.
So this is my first challenge ever. I managed to lose 3 stone a few years ago but piled it all back on due to stress and fallen really hard back into bad habits. Finding it super hard to lose again so need some accountability!5 -
Welcome @4pence !1

Hi everyone! I’m Dianna - Canadian girl living in Boston. New to forums and challenges, and have recommitted to MFP (log everyday!). Looking to lose around the 40lb range - phew! It’s tough, but hoping some motivation and (most importantly for me) accountability from here, will help get me there!
Feel free to add me!6 -
Hi everyone! My name is Kristen. This is my first time doing a challenge on MFP. I've been tracking, but am hoping the accountability of a group helps me stay consistent and motivated over the month of July. Please feel free to add me as a friend!4

Hello teammates! I had a great month in June and lost 5.4 lbs. I am hoping to exceed this loss in July. I have a two week cruise coming up in mid September would really like to fit into a Calvin Klein swimsuit I purchased last year. I will be in Florida for my July 6th weigh in and will unfortunately not be able to post my weight. My next post will be July 13th. Good luck to everyone for next week. We got this Run Track Minds!5

@ccpapajet, posted her intro on team The Big Butt Theory in error. I tagged her, but if she doesn't see that, maybe someone here could send her a message?0

Hi Everyone, I’m new to this challenge. I’m just this week starting to work on me. Had a year from Hell with a family illness. They are on the highway to recovery and now time for me to jump on. I’m sad to say my weight has gone in February from 235 to now 249. I need to do this for my health, my future and my family. Really all for me!!!
My name is Cathy. I may need a push and an occasional pep talk and I will do the same for anyone else. I’m nervous about starting, but here we go.
Thank you for allowing me to join!
PS sorry went to the wrong team at first, here I am already trying to jump ship!6 -
Hello everyone!! This is my first time in the biggest loser challenge and I am really excited to be here and be doing this. I have been hanging on to the baby weight I put on with my second child after I went through IVF and I really need to finally shed those 50lbs. This is my first time really using MFP and I am really impressed with its features and how it has kept me accountable to myself the last few days. I have never before been good about tracking my food, which I think has always been my biggest downfall. However, I have made a pact with myself to track every single bite I put in my mouth, even if it is something that I am not to proud of, like McDonalds!
Good luck to everyone on this journey, and to those of you who have had major health scares and loses this year, I wish you a quick road to recovery and my sincerest condolences. It is awesome to see the strength in our team members already and I look forward to going on this journey with each and every one of you.5 -
Hi! I’m Sarah. I have two kids, 9 & 5. We live a very busy life. Baseball just ended for the season so hopefully things can slow down a tiny bit for me to focus on my health and fitness more. I rely greatly on others encouragement and accountability. I have the desire of a healthier lifestyle just as much as I desire chocolate cake, but if I were being honest with myself...the total lack of will power wins. I have become a food addict. Aside from that I have a HIIT Class that I have been regularly envolved in for the last year. I thoroughly enjoy it. It is two days a week, so I need to up my routine on my other days. Looking forward to this challenge!4

Hi I'm Jackie. I'm excited about this challenge. I've been trying to get my health under control and I'm hoping some competition will help me stay consistent with my efforts and step it up a notch3

You enter your weight the day of the week you signed up for. Mine is in Friday's, so I would wait until next Friday . If yours is Saturday, you would wait until the upcoming saturday.0 -
So your starting weight is what is used for week 1? Or I weigh in on Tuesday for week 1? Also where exactly do we give our updates? I read the main post but I'm probably being a bit dumb haha0
-
-
4pence I would wait for a week from Tuesday. Have to ask our team capt but that would be my thought0

Week 1 compares to the previous Week from last month, which for returning members is the last week of the previous month, for new challengers it is from the weight you posted in the starting weights thread.0 -
Just wanted to wish everyone on our team the best of luck! We can do this!!!!2

Can I change my weigh in day for Friday? I'm doing a biggest loser at work too, and having the same weigh in days would be a lot easier.2 -
I feel like it is one setback after another. My father in law is at the end of his liver fight, and we are all saying our last goodbyes. It has only been a month since I lose my mom. I refuse to gain this month like last.7
