Hello,
My name is Jaleesa and it is my first day of doing Keto so I am still pretty new. I've noticed in the past that I did better when I ate less carbs than veggies and so I decided to try and be healthier with how I eat. I am just getting the hang of the macros but I think I will get the hang of it. The hardest part for me will be maneuvering around my husband since he eats what he wants when he wants. lol My main goal is to feel better. I enjoy running and I think that the better I am about my diet it will help me become more active in my running and lifting.4 -

Hi Jaleesa!! When you mention maneuvering around your husband what we do in my house is he'll eat whatever meat & veg I prepare but he'll have a carby side - be it, rice or a potato or oven baked fries. Luckily I have never been tempted to join in with him! Just an idea5 -

Good Morning,
Today is my 3rd day on Keto. So far so good. I did a lot of research beforehand because the keto way of thinking goes against everything we have all been taught for years. However, the science behind it makes perfect sense if you have a good understanding of the way the body works.5 -
Hi! I'm Laura. I'm 48 and just started keto today (20 or less a day). I have done low carb many times before (with great success a few times). But I always fall off the wagon. I'm having some menopausal issues and seriously gained 15 pounds in one month!!! I didn't think that was possible! This, in addition to the other 20 or so I packed back on from sheer love of food and wine lately means I have to do something NOW!! I don't have any comfy clothes anymore, and don't like being looked at! So I look forward to everything I can learn and share here!!7

Hi Everyone, My name is Steven I'm 46 and live in Teesside (North East England)
I started my keto journey a week ago and hit ketosis at the end of day 3
I enjoy running, resistance training and generally keeping fit
I'm back into fitness after a one year break (mainly due to a back injury stopping me from working out!)
During that time I put on over a stone in weight so over the past 3 months have been cutting calories to get down to a more athletic weight. Having lost 25lbs in 3 months I stumbled on the keto diet and decided to give it a go in the hope I loose the muffin tops that remain
Happy for anyone to add me as a friend

Hello All. My name is Fred. I'm not new to Ketogenics, I've been doing it since Feb 2018.
I can tell you, it works. From Jan 23, through May 11 (109 Days), I lost 54 pounds following a strict Keto program.
Here's a little background on where I was, and where I am now.
NOTE: I actually started my keto lifestyle change on Feb 26. It took me a month to research everything before I actually started.
About a month before I started my Keto journey, I visited my doctor on 01/23/2018.
My weight: 284.6 lbs, Body Mass Index: 42.00. On two Blood Pressure Meds. LDL: 144 I had terrible hip, knee, and ankle soreness from carrying all that extra weight.
My Doctor’s visit on 05/11/2018: Weight: 230.6 lbs Body Mass Index: 34.24 LDL: 103
On one Blood Pressure med vs. two. No hip, knee, ankle, or foot pain anymore.
I took the last month and a few days off since I was heading to Ireland, Scotland, and England on vacation in early June.
I'm jumping back on the KetoTrain today full time. I've got another 30 or so, pounds I want to get rid of.
Thanks for reading, please feel free to let me know if you want any help. I'll answer any questions I can.

Hello Fellow Ketoers!
I’m Heather and have been doing Keto for about 2 months and I’ve lost over 20 lbs.
I have been dieting since I was 10. Up, down, up&up, and down. I just can’t do it anymore. I’m 44, and my kids are grown. I don’t want to become a burden to my family and a shut in. With at least 100lbs to lose, that’s exactly where I was heading. I’d been to the doctor for the aches and the fatigue and they couldn’t figure out why I wasn’t feeling well and why I was hungry ALL the time. The recommendation was antidepressants, but I wasn’t depressed. So I decided I needed a permanent solution, a complete change to my lifestyle. It wasn’t about losing weight anymore, I needed to save myself. I really felt doomed. I ran across Keto and I was intrigued. I jumped in without a lot of research and kept it simple. My husband thought I was nuts but even he’s seeing the changes (mental clarity, energy, physique) and no longer scoffing. My sister and her husband are doing it. My mom and her husband are adopting many of the principles. I’m really excited about my future and my family’s future. Looking for support and motivation and wAnting to provide support and motivation - pay it forward. I think in a few months I’ll be able to get to Onederland and it will be the first time in almost 15 years!
I’m 44 and 5’6.5. SW 255, CW 234, GW I’ll know it when I get there.

Hi everyone! I've been following the ketogenic lifestyle since August 2015, 20g or less, and lost 74 pounds. In January 2017, I had plateaued for several months so it was recommended to me to increase my macros for a while and then drop back down again, like a reset. I went to 35g and maintained, but I still had 50 lbs I wanted to lose. In July 2017, I started gaining weight again, just a few pounds, so I dropped back down to 20g and lost those quickly.... As it turns out, I was gaining weight because I was pregnant with twins! Still wanting to stay with this, I ate between 50-75g throughout my entire pregnancy (minus the bad morning sickness days) and did great, gained 28 pounds. My twins were born April 13, 2018. One week after, my pregnancy weight and an additional 9 pounds were gone. I stuck with it to breast feed, but had to stop after they were about 7 weeks old (no weight gained or lost), but slowly lowered my carbs down again to finish eating the higher carb food I had left and lost another 3 pounds in two weeks. Now I've been eating less than 20g and back on the weightless wagon. Feel free to add me as a friend!

Hello, I’m Artemis. Yesterday was my first day fully following a Keto diet. I’ve eased myself into the diet because; Hi, my name is Artie and I’m a carb addict. For real. I’ve been booking up and reading on Keto, ordered a couple cookbooks, made some bone broth and found an experienced Keto person. I think my hesitation to jump in is fear of failure. I tried the Atkins diet years ago and got god awful sick. So yesterday went well. I love bulletproof coffee, so that’s a win/win.
I’m 64 5’5”. 180lbs.4 -

Everyday for the past 10 years I have told myself that its time to do something, well guess what. 10 yrs flew by and im still 40 lbs heavier! Im trying to incorporate the keto way of eating into my lifestyle, but honestly its confusing trying to start out. I have no idea if i set my macros to the right amount or not. So much info on the internet and not really sure who or what to follow. Any starting advice would be much appreciated!2

Hello all!
I am Ann, from San Antonio, TX. I have battled weight issues pretty much of my adult life.
At the wonderful weight of 273 pounds I tried Jenny Craig several years ago and dropped nearly 60 pounds., But then I was diagnosed with several health issues (RA, Lupus). I kind of went into a depression during that time and gained about 20 of it back. Earlier this year I learned I will need my left knee replaced - too many years of carrying all this extra weight have worn away all of the cartilage.
I thought about going back to Jenny Craig again, but just couldn't bear the thought of eating all that pre-packaged food... so I started researching other diets. I considered the Whole 30, but it seemed pretty complicated with the specific foods. A friend of mine started Keto and she looks amazing! After reading about it, I decided that's the route I wanted to go. I kind of get the benefits of the Whole 30 but there's a little more leeway and fewer restrictions.
I just got back from a week's vacation in Puerto Vallarta, so I've been spend the last couple of weeks learning about the Ketogenic lifestyle. I finally "officially" started this WOE today!
Of course I'm still learning and soaking up all I can about it. I'd love for this to be an active group! You are welcome to friend me for support!3 -
Hi Everyone, my name is Nix and hubby and I are starting Keto for the first time today. We are excited and looking forward to it. I have tons of weight to lose and hubby only a small amount. We are not hooked on sugar so we think this diet will be good for us. However, I am a salt carb addict and will need to stem my cravings for snacks that are fried and salty. Any tips would be most welcomed. We have read alot about this diet on various sites and seems like they contradict each other alot. Guess we will have to just work it out ourselves based on what works for us. Happy to find kindred spirits to chat with. Please provide any tips you think important. Good luck everyone with your struggles.........2

Today is day 1 of Keto diet for me. I’ve adjusted MFP to add in fiber and took out sugar in the nutrient settings. I used a keto calculator to get my daily intake goals. I still feel a little weird about eating more fat, but I am giving it 100%. I’ve got about 20 to 25 pounds to lose. I workout and do light strength training too.3

Hi guys! My name is Juli. I am 52 and deep into perimenopause and AAALLLL that comes with it, like WEIGHT!!! A good friend of mine was doing Keto and inspired me to look into it. I started my Keto journey around the end of June. It's kinda worked out pretty good. I don't miss the carbs (bread, tortillas, chips, crackers....), that's been a blessing, I totally thought I would. My family is used to me cooking lots of meat and veggies anyhow, so that helps. I recently discovered LOADED CAULIFLOWER BAKE, and let me say WOW! My husband would never be into this way of eating, so I told him it was loaded POTATO, and he loved it (hehe). I thought it would be difficult to cook this way, but it kinda fit right in my normal regimen, just without the evil carbs ;-)
Today I used MCT oil and my heavy whipping cream in my tea (2 cups) (just Lipton) and read that this is common when fasting. So, today I decided to try fasting. Why not, if I do get hangry, I'll eat what I brought to work. I love loaded cauliflower bake (with bacon) and zucchini frittata (with bacon), my faves and great for every meal. I love doing gobbs of zucchini, mushrooms, cauliflower, broccoli, garlic and onions, with EVOO and bacon fat, topped with cheddar. No matter how much "extra" I make, my son seems to find a way to surprise how much he can eat. I just found www.lowcarbmaven, and there are so many very simple recipes there, very little ingredients, just the way I like to cook. Looking forward to getting to know you.

Hi everyone I am 32 and started the keto diet last week. My starting weight was 249 and I do not know if i lost anything since I don't have a scale. I have been sticking to under 30 carbs a day, no sugar, and starches. I have been doing camp gladiator 3 times a week along with body pump 2 times a week and walking 15 miles a week. I am also on phentermine. Hopefully I can lose at least 20 lbs this month. I will get weighed when I go in on the 28th. Wish me look and good luck to all of you guys.3
