Hey all! I've been yo-yoing between 184-195 for years. This past week I switched my diet to keto and have been steadily losing! I'm losing fairly slowly, but still figuring out my macros and how to stay within/around. Goal this month is to lose 8lbs.

I have quit......DAIRY! I picked up some non-dairy creamer for my decaf espresso in the mornings. Other than that, the hard part is going to be butter & cheese for sure. How many days does August have?!
Although I have less inflammation in my knees than when I started keto, there's still a fair amount, to the point that I can't kneel all the way down onto my heels. There aren't any other foods I eat that could be causing it, so I'm giving up dairy in hopes to eliminate it as a suspect. Sorry but life without dairy isn't life for me. It may just be from old injuries but I'm determined to find out one way or another.
For August I've tasked myself with getting to 10 proper push-ups. A few months ago I could NOT do a single one. I am currently up to 1/2 of a push-up. Lol

I’m still here and am very happy to announce that I’ve already surpassed my goal for the end of August. (I made the goal back in May to be 189 before the 2 weddings I have to attend this month!) So I’ll be very happy with whatever I manage to lose this month. My next goal is to see 175 by Oct 19th! I’ve not seen that number in 2 years. So we shall see how this goes!

A few bumps in July but overall a healthy success. Feeling positive going into August. Looking forward to a much needed beach vacation in a few weeks!!

If that little girl can jump up on that stool, you can do 10 push-ups. Push-ups or pull-ups are off my radar scope for this year. I anticipate shoulder surgery in August or September. I’m thinking it will be next year before I’m ready to challenge my bad arm. By that time, you should be way past 10 push-ups and even jumping on a stool yourself.
Good luck with your Nondairy August. I’m not ready to take on a challenge that tough. I’m afraid keto has me addicted to butter, heavy whipping cream all kinds of cheese. On the other hand, I have gone over 36 hours without caffeine and suffered very little side-effects.

August 1st: 186.8 (I never thought I’d see this number so fast!!! I LOVE keto!)

June and July were both terrible for me... I was doing lazy keto and that apparently does not work for me. Especially when I go on vacation and get kicked out of ketosis.
I've been fasting this week, attempting to get my blood sugars back under control. So hopefully this month, doing (mostly) strict keto again, I will lose 8 lbs. That is my goal.

I am going completely dairy free. I might have some nuts issues as well. I will be checking those out this month. I stalled for a while but made it to 236 which was 4 pounds heavier than my July goal weight of 232-228. Cheers to a new month:

I tried Keto two years ago and lost a lot. Now I’m heavier than I’ve ever been thanks to a stressful summer at a new job, and lots of eating out and alcohol. I bought all new size 6 clothes at the beginning of the summer because my clothes stopped fitting, and now I’m barely squeezing into the 6s. My goal for August is to be down to 130 pounds.

down a few pounds since my return from holiday earlier this week and back under 150. Only one social event to contend with this coming week fortunately it's on Tuesday so I've a bit of time before next Sunday as there is noway I won't eat or drink that night! It's nice to know what you are going to do then you ain't disappointed in yourself, no failure just accept and move on!1 -

No scale victories to claim today, so I will remain radio silent on that topic. My NSV is that I’ think I’ve kicked the caffeine habit. Tomorrow will be one week without coffee. However, it didn’t come without a cost. I can say with confidence I’m over the side-effects of going cold turkey off the java juice but I’m still working on the habit part. I still have cravings that I’ve been suppressing with food. I know I will be able to stop my bad food habits in time, but it is not helping me get rid of my last ten pounds.
The trade-off of extra pounds has been lower blood pressure. A good trade for me because my BP was beginning to become a problem. Although I’ve heard there are some benefits to caffeine, it just wasn’t working out for me. Now if I can just get the Dairy Queen magnet in my car removed I can get back to ketosis and maybe a scale victory next week.

Good morning,
A new month and a new travel schedule. This month again I will be spending a lot of my time on the road with a quick 4 day trip. I'm kinda getting tired of this because it disturbs my routine. On a positive note, I find myself rearranging my closet a lot lately- moving to the front items that I can start wearing, and getting the next size ready. I'm thinking that to celebrate the next milestone, I should perhaps burn some of my fat cloths 😈

Things are moving in the right direction. I've already met my August goal! LOL That's the beauty of not setting a poundage. It's not much but I'll take it as opposed to the stagnation I've had for the last three months. We'll see how much farther I can go, it's only the first week and a short one at that from the last weigh-in 5 days ago at the end of July.
I've been very strict about logging my food and keeping the net carbs under 20 per day. I've been getting a lot of exercise walking, gardening, cooking, and riding my horse. I believe I have broken through the plateau of 160 and it's taken a lot of dedication and discipline. I've learned that I can't be sloppy about it. Keto on, my friends!

I can't say I had a "whoosh" but I definitely lost a bit in the last week! And I continue to drop every morning. My goal was 150 by end of August and at first I thought that overly ambitious. I don't anymore, given that I'm within 3 pounds of it now! I was shocked, to be honest, when I weighed myself this morning. Holy crap. I haven't been this close to the 140's since 2011. I'm less than 10 pounds away from my lowest recorded weight as an adult (145). I'm shocked. Absolutely shocked!
My next goal, because weight loss seems to be going along swimmingly, is to start exercising more regularly. I've put it off to simply focus on eating right and getting things in balance. Now, it's time. Walking for short periods isn't enough anymore. I set myself a goal of 75 miles walked in the month of August (a goal I've set myself twice before in the past years) but that's not realistic given my schedule. BUT I can definitely work on exercising at home more! Time to bust out my Jillian Michaels (on mute - anyone else annoyed by her voice after seeing the videos a few times?) and get my butt moving.5 -

I’m happy with my progress so far given that on 8/2 my weight had shot up to 211.1 thanks to unhealthy ballpark food and a million grams of Sodium LOL
Today is day 5 of Carnivore for me and my appetite is gone. I mean, I sit down to eat and am full in no time. This morning I made two eggs, with 1.5 pieces of bacon and about .5oz of cheese and couldn’t finish. I mean, after 2 months on Keto I’m already fat adapted and had been doing IF like a champ, but when it came time to eat I could always finish my meal, so this is new. Oh well, I guess I’ll enjoy it while it lasts!
I leave for vacation in 13 days and my goal on 6/1 was to see onederland by then. I’m so close I can taste it, but I just don’t think it’s going to happen. Who knows. I might even surprise myself.
