Mid-month, we look up from our tyrannical scale and look around. Wow!! There are lots of things to celebrate in our lives. Please share a Non-Scale-Victory. Something that's happening in your life and/or your journey toward your MFP goals that makes you happy; or proud; or joyful.
I'll check back later and see how we're all doing...

Date: January 15
Exercised?: Yes - 20 minutes of mid- and upper-body strength exercises.
Calories?: Yes - under target.
Tracked?: Yes - all tracked.
My best non- scale victory is definitely increased energy. I can play and dance with my daughter a lot easier, which makes us both happy!
That said, i am also super proud of my scale victory... today i met my first weight loss goal - 5kg gone!! My journey started early December so I've lost the weight at a decent pace so far. A long way to go but meeting mini goals is a definite motivator9 -
Exercise - 1h30 cycling on home trainer / 40m gym cross training
Calories - yes
Tracked - yes
My best non-scale victory, going to the physio tomorrow and NOT cringing when taking off my clothes!10 -
I love the mid-month NSV posts. It is so fun to read the impact that this journey us making on everyone's life. There is so much more to living a healthy life than the numbers on the scale
So many of my NSVS have been "little" things. Added all together, though, I feel like a totally new person as we move into this new year. My "numbers" are excellent. I have totally changed my relationship with food. I can have a "bad" day and boince right back to heslthy eating the next. I have more energy, I am stronger, I am sleeping better, I no longer look the other way when I walk by a mirror (ok. I'll admit it, I even check out my reflection when I walk past a window now. .. just amazed at what I see ). As I struggle with the last 3 pounds to goal, I realize that if I don't lose another ounce that I am a hapoy camper!

I posted this on my profile yesterday.I've been thinking about NSV's I've had since starting this. I'm still in the same size clothing. It takes about a 20-25 pound loss before I'm able to go down a size so that's not one. But, I look forward to exercising now, I no longer have a craving for sugar, I can survive on one packet of oatmeal in the morning instead of two, I no longer graze all day because I have two designated snack times, I feel better and have more energy, I'm not depressed, and I like people again. LOL! I had become a crabby, old lady and now I have a happiness that has settled over my life. I like me again!
Doing this challenge and not quitting is also an NSV!!9 -
I have had three major NSVs since this question was asked last month:
- Started a new back-to-the-office pre-work routine that includes a 7 minute HIIT session on my stationary bike. I am only into the second week, but it is already happening far more than it is missed (after all, it's ONLY 7 minutes ... )
- Right from Day 1 of the above, there has always been at least 1 HIIT session, and on the days when before work just didn't happen, the second often happened as a before supper/ late in the evening split instead.
- I am no longer afraid to "eat more so that I can do more of what I love", and with ~80 calories burned even before my lunch is packed (most days) I can spread the earned calories across a wider timespan than just "augmenting evening snack". This is good practice in advance of maintenance (anticipated before spring)

I like reading the NSVs!
NSV 1 for me: Still being here in day 15 and only one unplanned pass day. Meaning by and large I've control my diet and exercise well enough.
2nd NSV: I started a new job on Jan 2 and I've still eaten within calorie allowance and kept my exercise schedule. It was important for me to start on this note.
Yes x 3 today. Actually had a hard time eating enough calories but I eventually did.9 -

Love the NSV posts! This month for me I have amped up my workouts and diet. It took a couple weeks to feel the difference because I was just trying to maintain over the holidays. Just the past couple days I've noticed more energy again and no cravings. I love that feeling..makes me feel like I'm making progress!7 -
Yes to all 3
My NSV is that for the first time since I can remember I went to the store and shopped in areas other than plus size. I'm still in plus size but I'm on the smaller side so that now I can find cuter clothing and have so many more options.

I was thinking about NSV just this morning. I’ve lost 62 lbs over the last two years with 45 to go to reach my goal. Discovering a love for exercise is a big one. My trainer asked what my exercise goals were this year, maybe a race? The idea of running never crossed my mind! Holy poop, I can run? Being able to Jump was a huge victory, a 5’3” 242 pound woman doesn’t jump but at 180 I’m bouncing around. So many NSV. Not having to modify moves in hard classes! I had to replace my wedding ring, I keep shrinking out of clothes. Not being recognized! I could go on and on and on.
At this point the scale moves at what ever pace it wants and I record it but it’s the NSV that I celebrate.9 -
Yes x 3 today, but with only 50 calories to spare. As I step down toward maintenance, my first step is to keep calorie allowance the same, but eat back all my exercise calories. Feels 'wrong' to be so close to the allowed number ... I am used to having a 100-200 calorie deficit.5

I got going on my mini-trampoline .... switched over to a Netflix documentary ... when that was done, switched back and "spent my accumulated points". 13988 steps / 308 calories / 91 minutes later .......on top of the 166 calories from my two 7 minute HIIT sessions ..... and it is almost too late for an evening snack ....4

I've had to reset this month. Due to a surprise back problem in my lumbar spine, I have dedicated myself to learning about the spine. Turns out that our spine, the musculature; ligaments; tendons; and even the fascia of our core is fascinating!!
Now, I know that 68 years of doing more slouching than good posture takes a toll. Bending forward and then lifting a load is a lumbar no-no. My NSV is discovering how to gain core strength and to begin changing my behaviors to use 'core bracing' and avoiding doing 'dumb things' that contribute to my lumbar vulnerability. I can't undo 68 years of taking my back for granted, but I am focused on using the next 3 months to change my habits.
I'm excited to do what I need to do so that I can ride horses this coming summer.
My report for today is Yes x 3.8 -

Since losing and keeping off almost 50 lbs, I've had quite a few NSVs -- going from large/XL to XS/small shirts and dresses; losing an insane amount of inches (I should have taken measurements); having to get my wedding ring resized; increased energy and stamina; no more knee pain when I workout; finding out I could run and running three half-marathons; getting so strong I could sign up for my first Spartan race in November -- I'm sure there's more, but these are the top ones for sure!7 -

A great NSV I’m enjoying is less cravings. I eat almost no sugar (none added) and I don’t crave sweets, chocolate or other things like I used to. My body is enjoying the nutrition I’m giving it6
