I know I’m starting late, but I was on vacation for the first part of the month.
I’m a member of Beachbody On Demand and do ok with my workouts, no problem being motivated there. BUT, what is holding me back on those 25ish pounds is that I make poor food choices. I tried to maintain accountability through my BOD coach, but once she realized that was what I needed she tried pushing her FB group geared towards BOD nutrition plans that I can’t afford ($150 for 1 month ONLY of Shakeology). I need a “real life” eating plan that’s sustainable.
That’s why I’m here. To support and get motivation when it’s needed. I know I can eat right, sometimes I just need a push in the right direction.3 -

15th March 66.1kg
Forgot to post last week, it was my little girls birthday.
I keep being good for a few days, see movement on the scale and then sabotage myself, I just don’t know why. Need to get in the right headspace I think.

Eh. Better than nothing. I gave up work snacks (the doughnuts, cookies, pizza, etc. that people bring in), candy, and fast food for Lent. I went way over in calories yesterday but haven't been terrible otherwise.1 -

I've been doing the same thing, I need to be more consistent.1 -
Hi, I'm new here. Let me join in!
In the last 5 years I gained 15 lbs. It just crept up and I see it all around my face and waist!
I don't really care about the numbers but more how I feel. I feel heavy with the excess weight. Looking to tone up and feel good in swim suits.

I was 156.2 yesterday, 158 today. No idea why, perhaps water retention from running 9 miles Saturday? I'm going to do measurements today so that I can post inches lost as well as the scale number - I know I'm smaller but the scale isn't reflecting it. I think I'm recomping rather than losing.0 -

All week the scale flashed a lower number before settling back at 158. Its nice that my weight is consistent but itd be cool if it settled on a lower number one of these days. I just switched forms of birth control a couple weeks ago and got my period yesterday, so maybe that has something to do with it too.0 -

Losing slowly...but at least it's still going down. I guess with only 5 pounds left to go, "slowly" is to be expected. I've made a diligent effort to tighten up my diet over the past two weeks. I only had two glasses of wine all weekend and although weekends are my rest days, I still managed to walk 14 miles.1 -
Does anyone check the net calories by the week view to determine if you are on target to lose weight? I’m always at net 3400-4200, but I’m not loosing weight!0

I’ve been good since coming back on Tuesday, and it’s paid off! Down 1.2lb. Moving average down 2lbs. I’m officially below 73kg again, and my next mini target is to get solidly below 160lbs. My only concern is that next week’s weigh in will coincide with shark week, so I have to be good and try to avoid the bloat. So so close to the goal!

@Tryingtogetfitdeb Hugs for you. Why do you feel so unhappy with yourself? Maybe focus on finding out what makes you unhappy and working on fixing those things first. And a belated happy birthday to your daughter!
@susanpiper57 Money is always a motivator, isn’t it? You may have to food prep some sweet treats to manage the cravings.
@nikkit321 Making good food choices is hard. Yesterday my diet consisted of a lot of chocolate… on the running side: How do you train on a treadmill for an outside race? And don’t worry about the gain. It’s clearly not fat gain if you’re smaller, so that’s a positive!
@mommastew60 Spinal arthritis sounds painful and I can imagine not being able to run is a challenge. Have you tried something like pilates (assuming you are allowed to do that with your spinal issues)?
@HoneyBadger155 I feel your pain in terms of struggling with travelling. I did too. Are you travelling for work or pleasure, and will you get the opportunity to walk a lot? That made a real difference for me. Trend weight is moving in the right direction!
@wenmft welcome! Do you do weight training at all? That will help with the toning.
@Cora0477 This chocolate, wine and whiskey festival you talk about….sounds fab!
@shawntae73 Weight training for the win. Muscle really does sculpt the body!
@Sydney1452 At 17 you really shouldn’t be actively losing weight unless you are obese, which at your stats you are not. Cravings are normal, especially in women. We suffer from hormonal imbalances (and you more so because of your age) which affects cravings as well as the number on the scales.
@lbride You’ve made fab progress since Christmas already!
@RobinAlex666 Well done on the food swaps and portion control! It’s perfectly possible to do so in most restaurants to swap fries for salad etc. And getting up your neat activity level (stairs instead of lift, walking the puppy, etc) will also help earn the extra calories. And right now you are probably a little bloated, given the birth control change and your period. I wouldn’t worry.
@lagoscarrie Holiday sounds fab! Also very good damage limitation. I normally gain 3-4lbs on a holiday…
@mbaugh0265 Welcome! It’s amazing how exercise affects our mental wellbeing! Having a gym at work leaves you little excuse to not exercise…
@helainametcalf Welcome! Slow and steady wins the race. And perhaps the running will feel nicer again as the weather picks up.
@tracyderrett1 Welcome! Don’t forget rest days, they are also very important to allow your body to recover!
@tjones0411 They do say weight loss is 80% food and 20% exercise and I do struggle with the food part too. But hey, we are losing and that matters! (Plus, 14 miles is a lot!)
@dkipnis77 Welcome, and sorry to read about your divorce. Perhaps for you it’s worth finding some peace and, rather than tackling your whole diet, focussing on the wine and chocolate part first.
@aliciab2653 I’m sorry about your mother, that is awful. Whatever you do, make sure you have grieved.
I love my bed too. Mornings tend to only work for me in the summer, when the weather is nice. Any other time morning workouts just aren’t for me! Food scale, gradually make some healthy swaps,
@annepan001 Nice progress, despite the partying!
@Astrue You’re on a roll!
@spa411 Welcome! I use Happy Scale, others use Libra.
@lionessNV It’s never too late to start. Your Beachbody coach sounds awful. The workouts are supposedly good, but the peddling of needless shakes makes me avoid the workout programs like the plague. You really don’t need the shakes. Look at things like overnight oats (I love them for being grab and go), find pulses and grains to put with salads/veg etc. Risottos and stews etc: Make a large pan (using the recipe builder) and then freezing it in equal sized portions. Easy, calorie controlled and most importantly: Incredibly affordable! And a food scale.
@weatherking2019 Welcome! Not much to lose, and like you say, it’s more about how you feel!
@ExistingFish Happy birthday for sometime this month! Nice progress too!
@krea4 Nice progress!
@afrye976 Well, your post made me look at it for the last 7 days. I don’t always log at the weekend, so it doesn’t really work for me, but I found I had a 2200 calorie deficit for the week, and lost 1.2lbs. I know some of that would have been some water weight from holiday food. Your deficit is very big. How much do you have to lose and, more importantly, do you use a food scale? And how have you determined your maintenance calories and your weight loss calories?

A good week for exercise and strength gains. Did my first 2 unassisted chin-ups this century 😃💪 My energy levels have been pretty good, so my running speed improved this week too. Been eating well too.
On the downside, I had 3 visual migraines in 24 hours on Mon/Tues - it's been 6 weeks since the last time. I'm lucky that I don't get pain with them, but the 3rd one was more of a worry as it was a retinal/ocular migraine in 1 eye, brought on by a strength workout. Thought it was a T.I.A. at first, but luckily not.
Anyway, I felt great on Wednesday, went for a cautious run, finished off the strength workout I abandoned on Tues, and squeezed in a Detox yoga workout too. No ill effects. Phew! So I'm easing back on intermittent fasting, focusing on keeping super hydrated, and aiming to burn off the last 3 or 4 lbs of fat and convert to muscle.
Might be tricky for a few days as I'm travelling for work then a family reunion!3 -
