WAISTAWAYS TEAM CHAT - May 2019

Hey all, I'm gonna weigh tomorrow and then bow out for the remainder of May and maybe June. I leave for Japan this Saturday, May 25 (work related) and I won't be back until Mid June. Not sure how posting would work or if I will even have access to a scale.
Please don't count me out. I'll need this group more than ever when I get back in town. It's just that I won't be helping the team while I'm gone and that's not fair to them. I'll see you all in July.

Have safe travels. We'll be waiting for you when you get back2 -
EVERYONE is doing AWESOME!! Still here, some big losers, all keeping me motivated. Thanks gang! and have a great weekend!!3

Shadows with waists! This is what we're all aiming for. YES @micki48 - you will hit onederland, and that waist will be waisting away (oh dear, give me more coffee...). And tennis sure burns the calories. Keep it up!
@leni1us - I will move you to the support team. You can stay there as long as you want. You can weigh in any time, or just skip it until you're home and back to a routine. But you can chat with us here any time! I'm sure everyone loves travel news, photos, crazy food stories (custard inside a thing that looked like bread sounds pretty good @Andreabroadley ), and how much you're walking and feeling great. Japan is wonderful.
@jlbtnc down another pound. You are the example of "steady steady keep on going" we all need. WTG
@connie7355 - the 180's for the first time in 2 years? Wow. In Québec French we say you can now "se peter les bretelles" - snap your suspenders - because you are so proud.
I don't usually post my weigh-ins in the chat thread, but today I get to snap my suspenders too. I am into the teens for the first time in ages. 118.2. My goal is 115, could be 110 but I'll be happy to get to 115. I'm really small, so that is plenty. I have been hovering in the 120s for a long time, which is great compared to where I was 7 years ago, but it feels amazing to be really strong, have some muscle definition, and closing in on goal weight at 65 years old. Don't give up!
Can't wait to see the rest of the Fridays! Hope you have a great start to the weekend.
Thanks @jugar. Here's my last weigh in.
Weigh in week: Week 3
Weigh in day: Friday
Previous Weight: 163.0
Current Weight: 161.5
Hopefully I can still keep up with everyone and see how the team's doing. Good to know about the stairs @Terytha. I think we'll be doing a lot of walking. Although the trip is work related, we will have a few "down" days so I hope to see the sights and get my steps in. See you all in June.6 -

I went to a corner store to buy what looked like bread. When I came home I found the centre was filled with custard. Heavenly..
Surprise custard is the best kind. Unless it's in something that you really don't want to find it in, I guess...2 -
I actually logged all my food yesterday... even the handful of chips that my husband gave me last night after I'd closed out my diary and which put me over goal. It's a start... baby steps, right?4

Walked early today marking my 5th intentional workout this week. It is so hot out there. I wonder what July and August will be like. A little scary. Plus all the floods, tornadoes, and snow storms across the US. Climate is definitely changing. 🙁 Planning to head to our club pool, which opens later today.
@leni1us have a great trip and please share some photos. Great results this week for so many of you. Fantastic work and dedication. My weigh in is tomorrow. 🤞🏻💯3 -

CW - 134 pounds 😢
I’ve not been feeling well this week (sore throat and blocked sinuses) so I’ve been eating everything to comfort myself and not tracking. I hope I can recover from this next week and don’t gain back all my loss 😩 I feel I’ve gained much faster having been ill and consuming far too much - is that possible to gain more when your body is run down?2 -
Thanks @jugar and good for you too for getting into the teens!!! I don't think I will ever see those days again!! Have a great weekend!!2
-
The scale finally shifted down after 2 weeks, but I'm so bloated I look pregnant and feel uggggggh. I have a doctor's appointment on Tuesday next week so hopefully he can figure out what's going on with my stomach.
But I finally made it to mini-goal number 1: 250. Huzzah! My reward is that I'm buying merch when I hit the show in Denver in two weeks. Maybe a shirt.
Mini goal number 2 is 225.3 -

WOW. I am sure the step counts are going to be amazing! Or maybe it will just be the moments of relaxing. But no whining for sure!1 -
I'm going to take my one weigh in pass for tomorrow. I'm swollen all over...hands, feet, legs, even my face. Its almost like I'm allergic to salt. I'll be back next week. So don't count me out.2

I'm so sorry to hear that! I hope you can get the swelling under control, and always look forward to your posts. You have a way with words - so let them fly. A pass for weighing in is totally fine, but don't pass up letting us hear from you, ok?1 -
@SueSueDio - it is always good to be reminded of how important it is to have scrupulous honesty in logging. The only person you hurt by letting it slide is yourself - I have a tendency not to log when things are not great, and I thank you for the reminder of how silly that is.
@micki48 HOT? you're right that there is some seriously weird weather around, but I am looking forward to being in North Carolina soon for some of that hot. Right now there is a fire in my wood stove.
@Terytha - hope you're OK, and good job on the 1 pound loss! I worry that you're feeling sick, though, and am glad you're seeing the doc. Deep breath.1 -

@jugar ...thanks so much for your kind words. They mean a lot. Sometimes I feel disconnected from the group because I don't post daily. Then i don't have time to catch up on the large number of posts I've missed since the last time. But life is busy and it's all about setting....and keeping....priorities, right? I am so determined to nail this consistency thing down! We're almost halfway through this year and I declare this year's end will see a much healthier me!!!! I'm sick and tired of each year being a carbon copy of the one before it. NOT. THIS. TIME.5 -

Happy Saturday team. I’m feeling pretty frustrated about my weigh in. Down 2 lbs of the 10 I gained last week. I’ve stuck to my IF schedule, I’ve drank almost 3L of water daily I’ve stayed under my calorie goals every day mind some days I ate into my workout calories, I went out for walks every day with the exception of Monday, my snacking is still there but I’m making much better choices when it happens (unsalted nuts, fresh fruits and berries etc) and I’m only down 2 lbs of the 10. I was hoping to have lost at least half. I do believe my tummy swelling has something to do with this as I am more swollen around my incisions now than I have been since I had my surgery. The hematoma keeps filling back up after it gets drained and I think this may be a factor in my numbers. But it’s still extremely frustrating. Mid week I was actually down to 170 when the swelling started up and I was up 2 lbs the next day. Maybe I should stay out the challenge the rest of the month so I don’t negatively affect the team for the monthy results.

A 2 lb loss in a week is a tremendous accomplishment! From multiple sources I've read, a healthy weekly weight loss is 1-2 lbs. So you nailed it! You got this!!!!🙂🙂🙂2 -

We hall have our ups and downs don't worry about it, stay on!!!! you got this !!!!2 -
Don’t be silly @matthewsfive this is real life we will all have loss and gains and this teams results have to reflect that accuarately. No one just keeps losing weight there will come a point even with the same exercise and low calorie consumption even the most perfect persons body will get used to those factors and simply maintain. A bit like how humans become resistant to antibiotics eventually. If u don’t participate there is a high chance you fall off the wagon completely and give up. The point of this team is two fold - yes one to see if our team loses the most weight but two to make sure we all stay on track and don’t go back to old unhealthy weight gaining habits. I’ve gained 4 pounds this week so I know I’ve suffered a set back but that doesn’t mean I’m not going to weigh in. This week has helped me understand what factors which are out with my control make me gain. For me this week I’ve been ill and I’ve been commuting all over the place and not tracking properly so I now know those two elements have contributed to my gain. The next time I have a busy week I need to preplan and keep healthy food with me and take supplements like echinacea to boost my immune system or next time I’ll gain again.1
