Sorry to do this again this month, but I've been busy and unmotivated. I did get to go for a bike ride and hopefully this weekend will, too. June I will be ready to start fresh.0

@lamlam2013 - we're here for you whenever you are ready.
@k80flec - good luck in your half today!
As for me, I've arrived safely at my New York house with my dog. We had a good drive but very few exercise miles. Weather is beautiful and we're both glad to be out of the Florida heat. I need to get back in the swing of running and eating right!0 -

Thank you @JTH11706 - I jeffed 20:20 and completed it in 3:08:49. I cried with joy, literally, when I crossed the finish line. I couldn’t believe I’d done. My poor DH - was obviously the first person I rang ... before I’d even cleared the funnel. He wasn’t quite sure what was going on.

Congrats to k80flec on her half marathon and on making goal! Love the smile. When I ran my first marathon my friend warned me that I was going to cry and I thought she meant I would cry because I was in so much pain. What actually happened is that at mile 23 there was a crowd of spectators cheering and when I saw them and the mile marker and realized that I was going to finish I started weeping in front of the whole crowd. Someone called out to me that it was ok, I was almost there and I tried to explain I knew, that was why I was crying. It doesn't make any sense but I was sobbing as I finished. Such an indescribable feeling of joy, pride, relief and even a touch of panic to feel your throat choking up while you are still breathing hard. Well done! I'm sure your DH was bursting with pride.2 -

Congratulations k80flec on you half marathon! Only a runner can understand the emotions. I was the opposite Janet. I cried when I was waiting to get in my corral. It was a bit surreal. I had been training for my first when my student ran into me and tore my meniscus so aaI had to wait another year to do this one. I wanted my first to be in my hometown. I stood there and started to cry in front of my hubby. It was our wedding anniversary and there I stood, finally doing it after all that training. It was pretty emotional. My hubby thought I was afraid and I had to tell him that they were happy tears.
It is funny what you think when you finish your first. I Galloway a lot of mine but not officially. When I finished my first, the last mile came off a hill. Most of it is downhill and than the last part rises uphill again. I thought when I saw the downhill, “Lord don’t let my knee give out!” I was coming off of meniscus surgery the year before. I ran as fast as I could and the sprint to the finish literally made it difficult to breath. I was bent over sucking air and they told me to move or they were putting me on a stretcher. The first person I saw when coming through the funnel was my nephew who finished way ahead of me. I told him,,,my first and last....check it off. Ha ha, I ran several since that one.,,but the second time on that course was truly exhilarating. I wore a pace tattoo and I was dead on it, the entire race. I came in to the finish line pretty much all alone and the announcer picked up my number and actually announced my name as the crowd cheered me on. It was the coolest experience. I had a PR and shaved nearly 8 minutes off my time.
May 23-27: Adding 60 miles of which 25 are walking miles and 35 are cycling.
TTD: 230 miles
