I went away for the weekend and did a carb-up. I'm not letting this upset me especially because I kicked myself out of Keto. Honestly I was expecting it to be a lot higher. I had set a mini-goal of getting under 220lbs by this Friday (my birthday) which probably isn't going to happen, but I'm okay with that. The funny thing is, I feel awful today. I'm bloated, my joints hurt, and I haven't pooped in 2 days. All the more proof that my body just doesn't like carbs. In all reality, the worst thing I had all weekend was 3 beers and a piece of peanut butter pie on Saturday and then I ate my weight in tortilla chips last night at Chilis, but otherwise, my carbs weren't that bad all things considered.
I'm also starting a 10 day carnivore challenge today that I'm really looking forward to.

I just returned Wednesday after going off the rails carb-wise for a few days toward the end of about two weeks of travel/family visits and beach camping. Some of it was a controlled experiment with some small "treats." I think that triggered my being tired, not feeling well, and consequently some "emotional" eating and cravings beyond what I expected. I was very worried that I'd gained several pounds and would struggle to get back to my WOE. Thankfully it's not been too bad so far. I feel so much better physically and emotionally when eating mainly beef, so that's helped. Hopeful that I'll reach my goal of 199 by June 30.5 -

Hello ladies, restarting keto after falling off the wagon (new job, big international moves, and a severe case of sweet tooth and low will). I know it's a bit late for the june challenge but I could really use some motivation from like minded women.

Wow, I'm not sure what to make of today's weigh-in...shocked but delighted! It's funny how this works. Just two days ago I was barely hopeful that I'd reach 199 (my goal for May) by the end of June. I really struggle with a tendency to have weight loss be a "numbers game" where I get discouraged when neither the scale nor the tape measure reflect my efforts. I'd rather focus on moving forward on this journey of healthy eating as a permanent way of life and its own reward with a lifetime of maintenance. Still, being at a weight I haven't seen in two-and-a half years is exciting and encouraging. It feels great to see Onederland again. That's 26.8 pounds off since March (almost half of my 5-year regain). Now on to the next goals. KCKO y'all!!!8 -

No scale love this week but, admittedly, I ate a piece of birthday cake with my mama on her birthday and had a couple more drinks than I should have throughout the week. I was going to try 16/8 IF, but I really like to eat breakfast 5:30a and eat with my family 6-7p... Is 12/12 IF a thing? Also going to try to be better about tracking because I'm guessing there are some sneaky carbs since I've been lazy.

I am super excited for July as I will be flying to San Diego (my favorite place) for a conference, but I will also be seeing friends I have not seen in a while and there's something very satisfying about knowing I will be showing up and looking better than I have in years!
ALSO! I will be defending my dissertation on July 18!! It's absolutely unreal that after 6 years, this journey is coming to an end. Now I just need one of those pesky job things that everyone talks about5 -

My losses have really slowed this month, and I'm not sure why. I mean, I'm still losing, but not at the rate I should be according to my deficit. I'm not going to get anywhere close to my goal weight for the month and I'm really bummed about it. Oh well.2
