Hey everyone! I'm currently on my postpartum weight loss journey. I successfully lost 115 pounds in the past but postpartum, I've found that my body is NOT responding at all like it used to the dietary and exercise regimen I used in the past. So, I decided to take the leap and try Keto to really give my metabolism a kick in the butt.
I've been strict keto and I've been in ketosis (confirmed daily via urine test strips) since 7/12/19. So far the scale hasn't budged at all which is pretty disheartening, but my clothes are all getting much looser so I know fat is metabolizing at this point.
Looking forward to this accountability!
My current macro breakdown:
Carbs: 20 grams (5%)
Protein: 104 grams (25%)
Fats: 130 grams (75%)

On the list of "life happens that makes keto derail" this month: my mom is visiting from overseas and staying another 10 days, my daughter is turning 15 this week, and I have a gazillion work events/business dinners.
I have had too many carbs this week, and I don't want to wait too long until I go back on track.
Let's see if I can stay true to keto and cruise through August!5 -

Hello August keto friends! July was a great month for me and I rediscovered my dedication after letting my food habits slowly slide for several years. August brings back to school challenges with my three kids, so I’m trying to get good habits in place now! I’m also a runner and still trying to get my fueling and keto/intermittent fasting to work well together.

Eh. Long story short: yay for everyone and everything
I'm going to see my fave band play tomorrow night! I'm packing keto friendly snacks into the festival and not planning on drinking alcohol... (but if I do, it'll be keto-friendly choices and lots of dancing & walking to burn it off )
Total Loss for July: 11.8 lbs (pretty awesome considering I restarted in the last week of July!)

I'm sorry you lost your post due to a computer glitch. However, short or long post, I'm so glad to see you back here and I know I'm not the only one. BTW great start, 11.8 lbs in a short time. Looking forward to your next heartfelt post

@stormywxs288 , your phrase "keto lite version" really resonated with me this morning.
I’ve been on keto lite for well over a year now. I keep using events and circumstances as excuses to delay what I know I need to do to return to a healthy weight and gain back the Non-Scale Victories (NSVs) I enjoyed when I adhered closer to a keto Way Of Existing (WOE). Oh well, “I’ll start tomorrow” has been my mantra.
I’m glad my keto lite phrase hit a chord with you. I’ll be looking for your posts of NSVs and weight loss as we work towards a better version of the keto WOE. I am also impressed with the over 60 lbs you've lost to date.

Hello! New to posting, after 1 month in with KETO and Intermittent Fasting. I figured it’s time to start participating in the community. You all have been so helpful and inspiring!
I’ve done the Zone, whole30, low carb, so I finally decided to jump in and do Keto. I’ve wanted to dial my workouts way back, because I was feeling adrenal burnout and couldn’t get everything straightened out while maintaining the high intensity. So, Keto is my first step back into taking back my health and energy. IF 16:8 has made keeping the calorie deficit easier.

@stormywxs288, thanks for your words of encouragement. We can do this!!! Also, I have been "in and out" of these challenges for several months, and I always enjoy when you change your profile pictures. Cute shirts! Do you have a source for these, or do you have someone who makes them just for you?1

Since you asked about t-shirts. I bowl on a 3-person team with my wife and another lady. The name of our team is “Here for Beer”. My wife and the other lady wear shirts with a pitcher of beer on it and a caption “Take a Pitcher It Last Longer”. I wear my t-shirt that says, “I can’t I’m in Ketosis”.
I shop online for my keto t-shirts. Can’t remember the sources but I’m pretty sure I got them through Amazon by just searching keto t-shirts.

Bam! After weeks of being stuck, this past week of daily 18-22 hour intermittent fasting and just sticking to the basics food-wise, I’m finally moving in the right direction again.
I also discovered this past week that not only can I do longer intermittent fasts (to me, 18 hours has always felt arduously long), but that I really like it! I feel great especially around the 20-hour mark.
I have been aiming to do a 36-hour fast for a while, partly just to know that I can do it and partly for the autophogy benefits, but it’s been impossible for me to get beyond even 16 hours in the past.
I think it was too much to try to jump in and do 36 hours without building up to it (everyone is different though, and I know some people who just dive in to longer fasts). Now I think I am ready and one of my goals this week is a 36-hour fast.
Have a great week everyone!6 -
I knew it was bound to happen because "weightloss is not linear." Still. Makes ya sigh a bit. Oh well. Keep on Ketoing on...

Solid start to this week. Hoping to see more loss next week!1 -
I stated last week I had been inspired by this group to return to a better version of keto than I had been practicing for the last year. Had a good first week in August. Modest weight loss 3.4 lbs. I’ve been accused of being the eternal optimist by many, so take what I say with that in mind. In just one week of adhering to a more keto true Way of Existing (WOE) some Non-Scale Victories (NSVs) have returned.
I can feel a fog lifting from my brain. My mind has picked up pace and my memory is sharper. My near 70-year-old skin stopped the summer dry scaling I usually fight with and my joints don’t hurt from the moment I wake up. I feel better about myself for following a WOE I know brings on these NSVs. I’ve started my way back to a keto WOE that suits me.
The keto angel on my shoulder won the battle over the keto devil on my other shoulder this week. With the continued help and support of this group I will adhere closer to a keto WOE that brings on more weight loss and NSVs each week.
