Thanks for the support for me as well. The timing of losing my trainer and what was going to be my dream job in the same week was a hard hit. Wednesday is our last session. She's supposed to keep teaching the two morning classes, but it's not a sure thing. As for the job, I did email trying to find out what happened. The email from HR just said the position was no longer available. I was the only one applying for it and the one for their other location is still posted. Hoping for some kind of answer, not that it really matters.

@sufferlandrian Thank you, even for the tears that popped up. I miss Merlin, my cockatiel, every single day, it was me and him for 25 1/2 years. I"m grateful for every one of those days with that little ball of energy and spirit.

3.7 mile walk in the 90 degree heat. Followed by six 8 ounce cups of water and a cool shower.

@kar328 - as tough as this is, I really do believe great things are in store for you and that something even better is around the corner. Keep going until you find it.

It was a nice trip and some years since I was able to celebrate my sons birthday with him. We did a concert, cycling, wandering around Bend spending money in bike shops (me buying birthday gifts) and then the long trip home.

To all those who have lost those special pets, the loss is real. The grieving is painful. However, remember what they would do if they were here and saw you with the broken heart. They would put their head in your lap to let you know it will be OK. They would pick up their ball to try to make you smile. They give their all to make us happy. They take all the good and the bad we have to offer and give us unquestioned love in return. They are everything we wish we could be. So on those days when you are hurting, remember what they would want. Tip your glass of your favorite beverage in their honor and force a smile so they can smile back from where they wait to see us again.

Thank you, Dean. I had a Keeshond, Brandy. I saw her born and I cried. She died 14 years later and I cried. She was the best dog ever.

@Dean: Thanks for the wonderful words. Well said. Yesterday, we received a card with lovely personal notes about Finn and how special he was to them. One gal now uses the dehydrated chicken snack we gave Finn for her own dog because we introduced it to her.it was very touching and tearful. We came to love the safe as part of our extended family.
@Kar: I know that good things are in store for you. Sometimes our biggest disappointments are hidden gems in disguise. Sometimes doors have to close in order for other doors to open,
