Anyone else feel ready to just give up and try again in January? I’m kidding. But really. The busy and tired of this month does not make anything easy! Our trip to see family at Christmas got canceled. I’m disappointed, but also looking forward to relaxing at home instead of traveling.
My exercise has been a bit spotty, but still moving forward. I started my cycle yesterday and I can feel that I’m bloated and retaining water, so the scale was a pleasant surprise this morning. I’ll take it.
Happy weekend everyone!3 -

Goal: get back to maintenance between 69 and 70
1. Keep on logging every day
2. Keep up the push-up challenge (I finally started again, mostly thanks to the perseverance showed by @cayenne_007 !
3. 10.000 steps a day + 2 long walks & 2 dives a week
Ok, so I got a nasty weight number this morning - gained 2 kilos in one week. No suprise there as I've been mindlessly stuffing myself with everything in sight. I even went back to a very old habit to purposefully go to a bakery to get my "fix", aka danish pastries. I didn't have danish in some years, and now the two last weeks I had one every other day + a load of other sweets. I also had seconds, and I've noticed that I just loved feeling "full". Needless to say I haven't been doing well and I need to snap out of it.
I find this the most difficult thing about maintaining. Losing weight is ok (no fun but doable), gaining is supereasy, but somehow maintaining is a balancing act that I don't master (yet?).
This weekend, we'll go to London to do our Christmas shopping with some friends. I'll do my utmost best to eat mindfully, and I hope that the next checkin here will be better.
Well, my mindfulness went out the window the minute I stepped on the train to London. 2,5 days of full English breakfast, churros, gluhwein and all kinds of street foods. Luckily, we walked more than 30.000 steps. That why I think my weight is also water weight from my sore muscles !
1. I kept on logging
2. Couldn't do pushups as I also had to move 1 ton of wood for our burning stove. My arms were really sore!
3. 87.100 steps and 1 dive
Current weight: 71.8 - back to veggies and fruits this week !
Almost at the end of the year, and it seems as my energy levels are blinking in red. The weather isn't helping as last week we had some storms going on, keeping us indoors. Next week, I'll have three days off and that will be very much needed. As for now, I'm not giving up but the only reason is that hubbie is doing great and I don't want to sabotage him. I'm having a big Christmas lunch this week for work (the kind of lunch where you can't eat dinner anymore) and a dinner party on Friday. So, I'll just be happy to stay at this weight for the rest of the year, and then start again with fresh energy in January !
1. I kept on logging (and in 2020 that won't be a goal anymore, as it really comes naturally to me now)
2. I'll start the pushups in 2020
3. Only one long walk - 58.000 steps and no dives as the weather didn't permit
Current weight: 71.12 -

GOALS
#1 Get a grip. Been letting it slide a lot, usually when it's free (office treats, dinners). This has to be reigned in, NOW, especially with the free-food month of the year starting.
#2 Try to lose the kilo I gained (including the cm on waist, belly, and thighs)
#3 Do NOT let myself go during the holidays
#4 I've started a powerlifting program because I really want to become stronger. First goal to aim for is being able to do at least 1 actual pull-up (or chin-up if need be).
WEIGH-INS (7-day averages)
2 December: 66.9kg (147,49lbs)
9 December - 66.7kg (147,05)
16 December - 66.2kg (145,95lbs) BMI 21,4
Yay I finally feel I'm getting a grip again! I also must say that I think the dog really contributed to the weightloss this week; without a social life I had a lot more homecooked meals and a lot less wine. So hopefully I can keep it up by myself. Because, don't get me wrong, on no level do I regret that the doggo is gone 😆
I did have a heavy food-weekend: Saturday was my cousin's birthday party which I attended from 16h-23h so that meant one long stream of cakes, crackers, pizza, & wine. Sunday I worked in a kitchen to help out a friend and even though that also meant snacking on little samples all day long, I think the overall tally was fairly low + lots of walking and being on my feet probably helped.
Last stretch for 2019!

Happy Monday to all of you,
I think I am going to meet my goal weight this month. Happy change. Even the 7-day average reached the target. And that despite a Christmas dinner at work, chocolates, and other goodness. Just no alcohol and everything in moderation. After the dinner night, I was so full that the two days after I still felt uncomfortably full and heavy. Makes for a good warning though for next week and the family shenanigans.
About the other goals: Number 2 needs adjustment. No logging obligation in the weekend. Just. Can't. Period.
For the rest, patience is doing alright. I sometimes need to contain myself a bit more than other times, but so far it's always been for the better. What's not helping these days: darkness (low energy levels, turns me into a cranky infant), rain/storm (no motivation to go outside for a run or an extra walk), new bed sheets (SOOOO COMFY!). I swear, my biggest achievement last weekend was to prepare a pile of books (choices...), cozy up on the couch or bed, and with these difficult circumstances to then get up to make some tea every now and then.
I'm glad that the Christmas preparations are mostly done. Presents are organized, cards are sent out (well 2 missing), cooking will be left to others, decorations are in place (at least what little we decided to set up this year).
Wishing you all a joyous week.5 -

But in my case, I am doing Breakfast and Lunch and skip Dinner. I'm always thinking about food during the day and have an appetite. But I can forget about dinner (Although I cook for everyone) as I am busy and not sitting around like I am at work!

I weighed myself for the first time in a couple weeks and lost 1.8 lbs. I'm not used to taking things so slowly when I try to lose weight, but that thinking has always gotten me to gaining the weight back plus some. So, I'm trying to take it slow and steady (by losing a pound a week) and establish long term habits that will sustain my goal weight.
My original goals for this month were:
Goal 1: track every bite on MFP
Goal 2: 90% clean eating/ 10% splurge
Goal 3: keep up with my running (3x's/wk) during the holidays.
But I'm adjusting to just tracking every bite here and running 3x's/wk. With the holidays, I imagine I'll be eating more sweets, which I'm okay with as long as I stay in my calorie budget and keep losing about a pound a week.
On another note, I've really enjoyed popping in to read this thread. The community here is motivating and keeps me focused on my goal. So, thank you all5 -

Goal #2: Be consistent with push up challenge - Restarting 12/2
Goal #3: Stay under on intake min of 5 days a week
Goal #4: Actually enjoy the holidays - don't stress if everything isn't perfect
12/2 - 146.2 - First time I've weighed since the 27th, basically gave myself a Thanksgiving WEEK, not day. LOL Back to logging today. - vet appointment at lunch, so no walk.
12/3 - 145.0 - Ate within reason yesterday, attempting to get back on track. Did carve out 45 min walk at lunch, funny how much of a difference that makes in my entire day.....and then volleyball banquet night for bf's daughter - I was starving and it's frito pies for dinner (UGH!!!) Other than NM - does anywhere consider a freakin frito pie a meal?
12/4 - 145.0 - rare lunch with my bf, so no workout other than barn stuff... but I skipped dinner to squeak thru on calories for the day.
12/5 - 144.4
12/10 - 146.0 - Yikes - I've done a terrible job checking in lately. Working to fix that.... I have been so stinkin busy that it's ridiculous. IDK how many calories I burned this wknd - but I walked over 15k steps each day and did 5974615 squats taking pictures of horses. My legs HURT yesterday (my whole damn body hurt)... Attempting to catch up on Christmas stuff, deadlines for videos/pics of 5 horses for sales in Jan/Feb - that's so hard with the short days.... Eeeeeekkkk!
12/11 - Did decent on food yesterday, but no workout... worked thru lunch and took my Gram to dinner. Really just trying to watch my intake this week and do the things I can do. I should get to ride this evening, so that will be fabulous.
12/17 - 148.0 - Not sure why I'm so bloated today, I'm fasting until dinner to reset things. Just trying to make it till Friday and I have all next week OFF!!!! I'm so pumped to have a bit of time and start exercising again. I've been working thru lunch and dealing with a million things that have to be turned in this week - almost there! It's SO stinkin cold today - but things are supposed to warm up next week.5 -
quick update on my IF from yesterday.
So I went home, made dinner for kids and took my son to his practice. I ran 3miles and did core exercise- felt good. I wasn't hungry. I had a protein drink and that was it! I think I can do this for a week. Will keep you posted4 -

Hey all,
Before I take off for the Xmas holidays and not having much time for checking in, I already wanted to wish you all an enjoyable time with your loved ones and also give a little update of how the last few days went.
Well, not much interesting to tell. Weight is finally coming off. I still get to enjoy my chocolate and it just happens. Okay, not today per se, but we ended up having dinner in the city yesterday after finishing some last Xmas shopping. Had a glass of wine and the food could have been a bit lighter as well. I still feel full. No regrets though. The high weight of today, was last week's average. Let’s see if this can continue in some way next week. At my family’s place, life is usually less active and there’ll be a lot of food, sweets, and wine. Maybe it’s a good thing that I’m quite tired these days. Those who sleep, can’t eat. Right? Looking forward to it! The dark days are draining me! At least it keeps getting better at home and my partner and I are bickering less and less.
How is everyone else?
I’ll be snooping around the coming days, only the long stories like this I prefer to write when it’s a bit more quiet around.
Have some lovely days!5 -

Okaaayyy definitely did NOT get a grip. A lot of activities and not even 1 day with a proper fast has lead to this... It's cool, 7 more days to rectify this.
On a brighter note: I did my first "long"(er) run again in ages yesterday and no backlash or pain during nor after. Hooray. Felt so nice!

I made myself go for a run and talked my extended family into walking to a nearby sledding hill. Everyone loved it. Lots of trips up and down with sled. Held back on lunch and dinner. Feeling great. Tomorrow I'll talk then into a morning walk. There will be lots of temptations at brunch and dinner. I plan to drink lots of water and sit far from the food table to avoid mindless munching. I'll enjoy the treats, I do take. Good luck everyone with eating and exercise!4

Crazy month as tends to happen! Travel, visits, trying to keep up with my own stuff, and I adopted a dog to boot! Whew!

GW: 128-132
HW: 163
CW: 142ish
Dec 8: 143.0
Dec 26: 141.8
Went up a bit after my visit back home (my mom is one where food is how she expresses her love - so everything is about food - and I don't see her often enough to turn everything down) - but overall still maintaining. Thankfully holidays are wrapping up, doggie (Nymeria) is starting to settle in, routines will be back in force week after next....and I enjoyed my holidays. So that works!4 -
Mad props to everyone still weighing themselves during these trying times2

53 yo 5ft 2"
SW 127.5lbs
GW 118 lbs
So, ladies - I am in that lovely new world of menopause and need to drop back to around 118. I am a runner and had hip labrum surgery 2 years ago and gained weight - was at 140 lbs a year ago. I use the elliptical and do yoga - I run sometimes even though I suffer for it a bit after...but feeling stronger. I have been using my Apple Watch Share with friends and Fitness Pal to keep me going and reach my GW
Goals for this month:
#1 Applewatch= CLOSE MY RINGS daily
#2 Prep my meals.
#3 Log in Fitness Pal everyday! This is how I was able to drop the weight.3
